This was our second stay and third visit to the New Inn - and we'll most certainly be back again because we love the place! The hosts are fantastic and make you feel so welcome, their home-cooked food is just amazing (and extremely generous portions!), and the beds are just so comfortable that we get the best night's sleep.
The location is perfect as it's so quiet and quaint - although Devon Council should really support their local businesses by mending the excessive potholes in the approach roads!!
All in all, this place is to be thoroughly recommended and it's certainly very reasonably priced for the quality of stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at the new inn and it doesn’t disappoint. The staff are so lovely and very attentive. Breakfast is really good and served to your needs, my partner is gluten free and they always have different options available. The rooms are clean spacious and in great condition. The rooms do get cold due to the nature of the old building but they provide you with blankets and even electric blankets. I’ve stayed in this area of Devon a lot and this is always my first choice.

A fabulous stay. A beautifully updated thatched inn with great food, a very warm welcome, and a parrot with character! A little difficult to find as it's located in a tiny village off the beaten track - but that makes it extremely quiet and atmospheric. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely thatched roof country pub hotel. Quaint and cosy. Great atmosphere. Really old and full of character.

Great little Inn, Located in a tiny Hamlet dating back to the 13th / 14th Century, Really nice rooms and the breakfast was really nice, Slightly unusual check in but did work, If the Pub is closed between 3 & 6pm the room keys are hanging up with the guest name beneath it which for some caused confusion as no staff where around, but not for us as i say it worked, We would certainly sop again if travelling down to Devon

Perfect place for our first night away from home since before Covid started. Friendly staff, lovely and quiet location.

This is a fantastic pub, very beautiful setting by a stream in the middle of a small hamlet. The building is stunning inside, very traditional snd the garden space for eating is tranquil and green. The staff were extremely helpful, the traditional food was all home cooked snd delicious. The rooms were very clean, good size and spotless.

Enjoyed our two night stay in a very comfortable room with a huge bathroom ! This is an attractive "Old" inn in spite of being called "New" in a very pretty village. The food was fine but we did find the dinning room rather cold and dark but that is typical of such an old building ~ even in May it would have benefited from having the log fires burning.
They are very dog friendly ~ although we were not aware there was a £15 per night charge for dogs ~ and ours enjoyed the breakfast sausages !

My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to hide away between Christmas and the New Year and this proved a lovely location. Room was excellent, roomy with nicely appointed bathroom, shower was ok, but in older buildings some allowance for plumbing needs to be extended. Nice bar area, good beer and menu. Breakfast was excellent.

Statyed at the New Inn, on the eve of graduation at Exeter university. Excellent customer service and the room was lovely. Breakfast excellent choice.

The New Inn was just in the most idyllic little village and perfect for what we wanted. The staff were extremely friendly & catered for all of our needs. The food was delicious, the room extremely clean and highly recommended all round.

This 'chocolate-box' inn offers very comfortable accommodation and serves excellent food. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. For a chance to get away from it all this is the place to be!

Very friendly welcoming staff and comfortable large room with lovely view of the small village. Good food, with relaxed eating areas well used by locals. We enjoyed our stay while researching family history.

Really enjoyed our one night stay, dinner and breakfast very enjoyable, staff very friendly, excellent service. Well run, very clean! The only small complaint I have, we where staying in a ground floor room and when the people above us returned to their room late on Saturday night we where awoken by the noisy floorboards from them walking around, so would recommend asking for a 1st floor room. Well recommended and will definitely return!

We liked this rather picturesque hotel. It seemed difficult to get to, but this may have been due to our idiosyncratic SAT-NAV! Perhaps clear directions about the route from M5 can be put on the website? The food was really excellent as well as the service and ambience. The TV was a bit limited in its offerings, but the WiFi was fine. Coffee-Tea facilities were excellent and the parking was great. The staff were very helpful.
We stayed only a single night, but liked our stay at New Inn very much.

Stayed at the New Inn as a last minute 2 night getaway. It is situated in a very quiet hamlet so suited us perfectly. It was midweek, so not too many people around. Staff were very friendly and the food was fine. Would we go back? Yes.

We were looking for somewhere yo break the journey on way to Cornwall. The hotel was welcoming and very comfortable. The excellent evening meal was an added bonus!!

Lovely old inn. Our room was spacious and clean. Lots of thoughtful items left in the room for our every comfort. Picturesque view of cottages and little lane. Like a step back in time.
Nice breakfast set us up for the day. Good base for exploring Devon from as practically mid way between north and south coasts. Enjoyed our stay.

This was our second visit. The staff were charming and very helpful and the room comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent and accompanied by occasional greetings by Captain the parrot.
