Excellent location, and very comfy, but may have felt different if other people had been on the house.
Nothing very much, but kitchen was short on normal tea and sugar which we thought was there.
4.3
The location was fantastic, we had an issue with the room size booking on arrival but clare was amazing and accommodating and swapped our rooms over.
4.3
We had a nice room, but it was particularly nice to have the breakfadt/kitchen area for coffee and the lounge to sit and watch TV in before heading out to dinner. Very wonderfully the posh off license next door will serve drinks in the lounge during opening hours (10 until 6pm).. There are local pubs and lots of walks through Exmoor as well as a winery to visit
No decaff tea (good choice of green tea) and we ran out of toilet roll
4.3
beautiful maintained accomodation
poor wifi connection
4.3
Nice kitchen to prepare your own food and drink, if you wanted to
The room was really cold on arrival. Heating should’ve been on in March..
No cupboards or shelves for clothes/unpacking. One side of double bed had no light.
4.3
we liked the way it was arranged with key collections and shared facilities as no staff on site, a great idea
Nothing to dislike though perhaps another shelf/ luggage rack to put our bags on, that’s all.
4.3
Everything was superb. the exterior appearance belies what lies beyond the front door.
nothing to dislike

The property was really lovely, very warm and inviting and it was decorated to a really high standard. The check in process was very easy, and the property was easy to find. the rooms were really beautiful and huge beds!
Nothing
4.3
The concept, the facilities the possibility of booking all rooms for family get togethers
Felt like home, very well finished
4.3
no breakfast provided but there was plenty tea coffee and snacks
Was a bit too hot for a small room with little ventilation
4.3
the Ginger Peanut is a welcoming and inviting place to stay - the accommodation is decorated to the highest standard and exceptionally clean
nothing
4.3
Nice place clean bathroom
No one greeted, self check in, poor communication, tiny room, over flowing coffee pot, towel rail didn't work
4.3
A nice place but there were no staff. Keys are in a keylock (although wrong code was given to us). Top notch beds & bedding and great facilities although it felt rather empty. Having said that I would stay again.
4.3
Nice firm bed. Good location. Good tea / kitchen etc facilities.
Woken up by Spar delivery at 6 am. Not your fault I know …
Shower door broken
Grey paint on walls and doors made it feel like a cell
4.3
The room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable.
There was no breakfast and the tea and coffee station could have had more coffee varieties
4.3
It was very clean and easy to access. Parking was easy
There was an annoying beeping sound from the door downstairs. There were no coffee/tea facilities in bedroom.
4.3
Not available nothing at all 10/10 everything we loved
It was perfect
4.3
The room is lovely and the location was prefect
The kitchenette facilities were limited and a bit disjointed i.e. no large spoons for porridge provided, items upstairs that required microwave downstairs
More sinage on doors, a bit confusing when first arrived.
4.3
No breakfast available. No facilities for any dining
Never saw anybody had to let ourselves in to the property. No breakfast available and no evening meal available.
4.3
Clean and very comfortable

I've stayed at the Ginger Peanut a few times over the past few years and obviously with Covid19 I expected changes. Rooms are nicely decorated and the location is great - a really lovely town. Rooms are clean and comfy.
I've stayed at the Ginger Peanut a few times over the years and I was fully aware that there would be changes with our stay due to Covid19 however, I think the price should also reflect these changes. Some of the changes aren't due to covid as the restaurant business closed down last year and I think guests should be made aware that this is a different type of stay to what has been provided in the past. Firstly there are no staff on site, the place feels soulless and paper work about guests are left in the lounge for everyone to see, breaking GDPR rules I'm sure. I'm not sure letting guests wash up and prepare their own breakfast (with a choice of porridge or a packet of Hoola Hoops) is really applying to the Covid19 restrictions. Though guests are encouraged to wear gloves (which isn't the Gov guidance) it would be far better to have sanitation spays on tables for guests to use after sitting at a table.
With all of the above I think the amount you pay for rooms doesn't reflect the experience that was provided at the Ginger Peanut before the business changed last year.
We stayed in the Duck room and the street light outside is so bright it comes around the sides of the curtains. A black out blind would solve this.
