Lovely stay at the Merriedale.Bryan friendly and helpful,great fresh breakfast to set you up for the day, good location for walking to beach,town centre and station.Nice park opposite and parking space at the property a bonus.

I stayed at the merridale guesthouse for 4 nights whilst on a 4 day getaway in paignton. The room I was in was on the top floor hence had a good view over the park. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well. The room had a small TV and had tea and coffee. The bathroom had the usual facilities you would find in a bathroom, the shower was powerful which was nice. I had a fan also as the temperature was very hot during my stay. Full English breakfast and cereal free which was very nice. Janet and Bryan are very friendly and do their upmost to ensure you're stay is good, highly reccomend ed.

Everything ok except for breakfast issues. Was asked what we wanted for breakfast before we even saw the room. Preordering didn't make things go quicker, one of our party was told it would take longer because he had ordered poached egg on his breakfast, and it did. I didn't want cooked the first morning and asked for toast. There was cereal and fruit juice but no yogurt or fruit of any kind,so I literally only had toast! on the second morning I decided to have cooked and was informed she didn't think they had catered for an extra breakfast. The cook said it was ok but she made me feel uncomfortable. I wouldn't return because of the breakfast issues because I don't always know the day before what I would like. Shame really because otherwise it's a great little b&b and very friendly.

We enjoyed 3 nights here. The location is quiet and overlooks the park,yet it's walking distance to the beach,restaurants and train and bus stations.The owners are friendly and helpful. The English breakfast will keep you going well into the day.

Good hosts, gave us keys for front doors and room. We opted for a twin room which was nice and clean with comfortable beds, maybe slightly on the small side.

We have been 3 times now to Merridale, and as Guest houses go this one is one of the best we have stayed in. The location is great for the beach, the town and all sorts of local entertainment, there are plenty of pubs around and lots of varied places to eat. While Sandra & Mark are at Merridale we will not look to book anywhere else for a stay at Paignton, their hospitality is 1st class and they are always trying to get even better as we have noticed on our 3 visits.

We had an excellent stay and we welcomed on arrival. Breakfast was very good and lots of it. My wife asked for poached eggs which was no problem and the owners were genuinely interested in our day. Would definitely stay again.

Mark and Sandra cannot do enough for you, very nice room and very clean. Fantastic breakfast. Full English and/ or toast and cereal. Close to beach short walk to shops and free wifi and parking to boot. Very happy to stay there again. This was our second stay and we will definitely be going again

Excellently run guest house with charming hosts - Sandra & Mark. Clean, comfortable room with all amenities. Easy 5min. walk to town centre or beach; and 10min. walk to train & bus stations. Provided me with thoroughly relaxed holiday I needed!

We found the hotel to be a very comfortable experience, the owners are very friendly and helpful with an excellent breakfast. Ample free car parking and free Wi-fi . The only thing was the room was a bit small. The hotel was well situated close to beach and town centre..
