Beautiful old home, warm & welcoming. We stayed in off season so restaurant & bar closed but staff accommodated drinks & take away for us. Breakfast was available so ate in restaurant then checked out without any issues. Comfortable bed and spacious room & bathroom. Had a very enjoyable stay thanks to staff!
4.1
Neat old historic property on the banks of a small river. Ample and easy parking. Desk and dining staff was great. Breakfast was in abundance. Condition of the guest room carpets would be the only drawback.
4.1
Uncomfortable bed, no water in room, generally poor decor. I fail to see how this could be classified 4*
4.1
The room smelt disgusting and management did nothing about it. Nice friendly staff, but it is a very tired property in dire need of some TLC.
4.1
Beautiful location the building is fantastic, but they don’t have elevators. Also, they don’t have air-conditioning.
4.1
Staff was fantastic, breakfast was great, location was super nice.
4.1
Disappointed that there was no evening restaurant service especially after a long journey. The hotel is in need of attention but our room was clean and comfortable
4.1
Would highly recommend this hotel, at present unable to do evening meals due to low level of staff however the staff are very friendly and helpful the twin (4 posters room we had) is highly recommended
Breakfast was 10/10 fantastic price was reasonable
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

Our room (sled bed) was huge and really nice. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was tasty.
Only 3 stars though as they seem to be trying to run it down/close up. The restaurant is shut so can't have dinner there. Some family came to visit us for a drink and we discovered that they close the bar at 9.30pm and don't allow extension even for residents to charge to room. While our in room bathroom was nice the downstairs shared toilets need attention/modernising.
4.1
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a nice, quiet and historic though a little dated. Overall a wonderful place to stay and the staff was an added bonus. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
4.1
Great place to stay!
4.1
Dirty, dated, no restaurant, no heat, not recommended

Loved this older hotel in beautiful park- like setting - yet close to Elgin town centre. The room was spacious and clean and public spaces are excellent. The hotel needs, however, some major investment to bring it up to today’s standards.
4.1
I would certainly recommend this hotel. Beautiful entrance and beautiful building. Easy walking distance to town and there is a nice walk over couple of bridges from hotel over the river and through boating fields. The reception area feels a bit as though it needs tlc…. And other areas of the hotel the same. Pool and film are closed. Downstairs wash room facilities really could do with an update. Our room certainly had the WOW factor when we opened the door (15) Looked great. Noticed later little things like the curtain pelmetboard material was completely rotten and in pieces…. Why even leave it there? Breakfast was ok, not amazing but perfectly acceptable.

Wonderful period home. Beautifully maintained. Rooms are updated and well furnished.

The stay in the Mansion House Hotel was great. It was nice experiencing the history to which the place holds. There was no restaurant to order food in the evening, but there was a wonderful breakfast in the morning.
4.1
Extraordinary accommodation, filled with history - preserved in a styleful way.
4.1
Great place to stay, just beautiful

This is set up as a B&B as it has not evening restaurant , very difficult to find anyone and many old facilities whilst still there were unable.
The room was in need of much repair especially in the bath room.
4.1
Nice looking building in quiet location. Good breakfast served by delightful server. But the evening restaurant wasnt open and the bar closed at 9.30. One man was managing all the hotel reception and bar on his own. His knowledge of bar work was clearly minimal - we had to give step by step instruction on making a G&T, the tonic was flat and the lemon so old it was rock hard. The bed was uncomfortable and the room could do with a critical eye - for example the kettle didnt reach the plug so had to be placed on the floor.
4.1
Terrible issue with the hot water. First night, no bother, 2nd night had no hot water so was unable to shower before going out. Informed the guy on reception as I was going out. Came back three hours later to find he’d been on my room and had left the shower running! It was like a sauna in there - everything was damp! 3rd night and had to run the shower for 20 minutes before the hot water came through. Nobody on reception when I checked out to complain to and despite emailing them I’m still waiting for my invoice. Think I’ll give this place a miss on my twice yearly visits to the area.
4.1
Only issue was unable to have a bath due to large amounts of grit/silt coming from taps apart from that it was a great stay normally use the premier inn but will definitely re use the mansion house
4.1
Lovely hotel in fantastic surroundings
4.1
The dining room for evening meals was closed, although this had no affect on our overnight stay. The full Scottish breakfast was lovely. The "sleigh" bed was very comfy. Check in and breakfast staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

My 2nd time here, just gets better every time. Nice spacious comfortable rooms and a great breakfast and staff who go that extra mile. What more do you need?
4.1
The hotel is in a good location. It’s clean and the staff are friendly.
Some of the bedrooms have stains on the carpets but I always wear slippers.
4.1
Amazing hotel and staff were very helpful and friendly. However bar is only manned by
The receptionist and no restaurant at hotel.
Stunning hotel but lets it self down having no facilities.
4.1
Nice place with comfortable room. The wifi in the room was rubbish .
There was also no restaurant available for an evening room.
So B&B only

What a wonderful place to stay.
4.1
A hotel with so much history and character. A little tired, but very clean and comfortable with friendly staff.
4.1
If I had to fault anything, it would be the getting in and out of the Bath/Shower. It was quite high with a built out bath panel. Making it a high and wide to step into.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay in this elegant hotel.
4.1
A fascinating and historic hotel with good parking in a quiet location yet only minutes from major shops and the centre of Elgin. The staff could not have been more helpful, the bed was huge and comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and well cooked.
4.1

Very clean and cosy room. Nice quiet location but within easy walking distance to town centre.
Great breakfast choice
4.1
Very helpful staff, pleasing to deal with. The room was a little dated but comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the water was ample and very hot.
The breakfast was fantastic.
4.1
Very convenient next to Tesco Superstore and walking distance to the main town centre. Lovely large property but is aging and needs a good refurb. Stains in carpet, kettle power cable too short to reach mains have to ask for an extension. Nice accommodating staff.

I had a fantastic stay at The Mansion House Hotel in Elgin, Scotland. The staff was great, the location was perfect for exploring the town, and the facilities were top-notch. Nice parking area in the hotel. The overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended for a memorable visit to Elgin.
4.1
A wonderful place to stay, just a little tired. A shame that they cannot open the restaurant, but that is reflected in the prices. Staff there were great.
4.1
When we pulled up the property looks amazing. Even the inside has great rooms. Then there was apparent and visible water damage and a musty smell in the air.
A great building that just needs some TLC.
Room was large and comfortable.
4.1
Comfortable, spacious room with clean bathroom. Good value. Slightly dated decor.
