Best relaxing place in puerto galera

Cockroach in the bathroom. Air conditioning is not cold. Mattress is a 5” foam pad. Hotel uses very inexpensive laundry detergent that irritates the skin. I checked out after 1 night.

Nice place to chill , the only thing that I’m not so satisfied is the breakfast . It’s too small and so little options .

A real gem in Palangan, PG! The staffs are super awesome! Please fix the clogged bath tub in Room 3. Also fix the AC as it doesn't really get cooler.

We stayed 7 nights in the King Suite and the staff here was so nice and accommodating. It's a bit older building, but the view in the mornings were spectacular! We plan on going back soon for an anniversary. Very relaxing and restful atmosphere, absolutely loved it

From arrival, the place SCREAMED scarcity. The breakfasts for example: Two eggs, two pieces of toast, two slices of ham, one slice of cucumber, a spoon size butter and jam, ONE cup of brewed coffee. That was it. Because we were booked for the “King Suite” (the top room in the property, which cost fortune), the lady who served us agreed to bring us two finger size small slices of mango. But this stroke of “kindness” stopped soon after when she explained that it costs extra. By her behaviour she obviously believed that if she is bringing us a second refill for our coffee, it counts as an amazing generosity. No soap in the bathroom of the dining room, and an old used small solid one that they did not replace for the entire three weeks we were there. You get one pack of instant coffee and one tea bag for a person, which is a part of the ridiculousness of this place. Scarcity. Every little thing, including ice, costs. The restaurant is beyond expensive. The beach is stony, and you can hardly get into the water, only during hightide. There are properties from both sides of the resorts so you can’t walk on the stony beach either. Finally, they keep the lights on the external part of the balcony, and you can’t even control it. It means mosquitos and it is hard to sleep with the lights outside. The neighbors from the other room walk through your balcony back and forth to the stairs, and there is never a sense of privacy. The water pressure is always low and often it is only warm

The resort was great. The location was quiet. The view was amazing since it was right next to the ocean. The staffs were great and helpful as well as friendly. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had a two week stay. A quiet place with a nice pool/garden area. Staff is friendly and responsive. Tricycles (local transport) easily available for to/return transport to Sabang. Lock box, air con, hot shower, TV w/sat, WiFi, refrigerator provided as stated. Restaurant and meals were fine. Will return when next booking a trip to PG.

We found Blue Crystal Beach Resort to be a very nice, peaceful place...with great staff.
The room was as advertised and all staff responded quickly to all of our requests while being super friendly. The onsite restaurant served us delicious feed and was reasonable priced.

The staff were excellent in providing their service. Very friendly and accommodating. However, their contacts for the day trips were not reliable. We’ve voiced our concerns and attempted to rectify it. We just accepted it as our loss in the end. The location of the resort was secluded and quite peaceful and relaxing. The sunrise view was the best.

On the positive side: Staff is extremely friendly. Location is marvelous. Rooms are somewhat worn but comfortable. Atmosphere overall quiet and relaxed. On the negative side: Staff often disorganized, forgetting things, poor oversight of what needs to be done, with a very laisser-faire attitude to everything. Needs training as well as more supervision, since hotel management seems more or less absent. Restaurant is a mess: Kitchen dirty, ants on restaurant tables, table clothes dirty (dining sets are freshly cleaned, though), condiments wet, sticky and never replenished, not enough personnel in the kitchen so waiting periods are up to 2 hours for dinner. Stray dog with questionable skin condition seen in the restaurant and even the kitchen (yikes) repeatedly without any staff taking offense. Garden sprinkled with dog shit that nobody removes. Beach littered with driftwood and rubbish that nobody removes. Internet slow and unreliable.Having said all that: It is still a lovely place. And I hope that aforementioned shortcomings are tackled by the management sooner or later. Then this will be a perfect small and peaceful hideout.

DUPED BY MISLEADING EXPEDIA LISTING PHOTOS
Will never return here & would discourage anyone from thinking about it!
Reception staff uninviting, no Wi-Fi codes until went back to request, then seemed too much trouble for them. Pointless as Wi-Fi virtually unusable. Room not in grand building in photos but chalet style room along rough gravel path; impossible to wheel bags or walk properly around hotel grounds.
Room size ok but had extremely noxious strong paint smell. Told decorated two weeks prior; stank of paint, wall backed on to road noisy forming hotel perimeter to continually used street. Bed hard & uncomfortable; air conditioner noisy, ineffective, badly located low to ground & next to bed. Anyone knows cold air falls, warm air rises so positioning utter stupidity. Fridge noisy, continually clicked on/off all night, impossible to sleep.
Pointless kitchen & walk in cupboard with no drawers or hangings for clothes, wastes room space. Large blue tank FREE water, impossible to cool in fridge. Why not just have small bottles?
Arrived late in evening, nothing else nearby as hotel in middle of nowhere, decided to chance hotel restaurant, Busy with one server. Poor woman was overrun & did her best. Average food at outrageous price.
Only transport scam artist motorcycle sidecars outside hotel waiting to rip you off for short ride.
Who named place Blue Crystal Beach Resort? NO BEACH waves lap on concrete retaining wall, water rocky, fit only for divers, not bathers.

Very Private...Great for couples.

I love the place and the people there, so I went there several times - so much for starters.
This time I got a room with quite a number of lush green bushes in front of it, watered twice daily lavishly. Pity of it is: That makes an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes. And I had dozens of them in the room every night, far more than in any other room I stayed in this place so far. A mosquito net would help (none there), anti-mosquito treatment of the bushes would help (neither done nor planned to be done) - the way it is it is just a nuisance for the guest.
Next thing I realized is that there was a change in the kitchen team (or maybe the cook fell heavily in love): In contrast to my stays there before the food this time was overly salty (constantly) and the quality of the food did decline noticeably - for whatever reason.
Last thing I did not like at all: Groups of guests listening in the middle of the hotel garden to overly loud music all day long. One of the following days it became even better: Another group of guests having a barbecue on the premises (cleaning the raw squid they bought directly at the beach and leaving the plastic bags with the waste of that cleaning lying directly at the waterfront in the sun - that much for consideration) and were indulging in a nerve racking karaoke session that lasted for more than 10 hours.
I am sorry folks, but as nice as the place and the people there might be - I was there for the last time, I think.

Went there for honeymoon vacation, we had a warm welcome from the staff ond got our room upgraded to the bridal suite. Even though the hot water is sometimes cold and the beach no longer resembles an actual beach this is a greeeat place to stay for a week or longer.
There is a beautiful coral reef with plenty of colorful fish just 30 meters out in the water so don't forget to bring your snorkeling equipment or you can rent it just for p100 a piece/day at the front desk. There is also a neighboring dive shop that we did not visit.
I recommend walking along the road to the "beach" and start swimming from there so that you don't accidentally step on something precious.
Looove this peaceful getaway place and the staff is always very polite. We'll be coming back for sure.

This is an amazing hotel for travelers looking for a cosy place away from the hustle and bustle of the touristic hot spots. Wonderful bay, clear water, nice hotel premises with most friendly and helpful staff. The internet connection is a joke, obviously, but who needs internet in a place like this?

The rooms are nice but there were maintenance problems with the bathroom. Water from the other bath room of the neighboring bathroom backed up into our bathroom both nights. We did not have anybhot water either. On the other hand, the service was lovely and very helpful. The staff were great. They were courteous, helpful and friendly, making it a nicer stay. The location was quiet but getting in and out was difficult, we needed to rent a jeep each time. Breakfasts were good, but otherwise the food was indifferent.

We went to Puerto Galera for the first time last April 2017. Our stay at the Blue Crystal was a big factor in our immense enjoyment of our vacation! The hotel has a very nice ambiance that is suggestive of Mediterranean venues. Our room had a comfortable patio right at the edge of the water. In the grounds were a well kept tropical garden, hammock, seats, and clean pool with convenient shower. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Thanks to Roselyn at the front desk for her hospitality and quick smile! We booked our day trips quite easily, and the prices were reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed the boat rides where one would wear snorkel gear and hang on to a rope at the side of the boat as it cruises above colorful corals and tropical fish. The underwater cave was a nice stop; but visitors need to know that this requires a strenuous climb up, along the side, and down a large coral reef (its fun if you can do it). The beach lunch was satisfying, with ample drinks including beer and bottled water also provided. We took the long zip line which slid between one mountain to another, offering great views of the water, coast, and forest below. At P700 a person it was more than the P500 we thought it would be; but that was still a good ride in my opinion. The one caveat about the resort: it is not walking distance to anywhere including the port and the main town. The tricycles and shuttles provided good service so just plan for it. We loved Puerto Galera and Blue Crystal Resort.

This is a nice resort. The staff are a great asset to the resort - extremely friendly and accommodating, with good communication skills. The location is lovely - away from the chaos in Sabang and although it isnt on a true beach, the water is great for snorkelling and the views beautiful. We were visiting with our two children and they loved it there - especially the pancakes for breakfast. We were initially placed in a large suite but unfortunately there were problems with the plumbing - shower wasnt working and very low water pressure from the tap. We were moved to another room with a view but as it was smaller we decided to also take the vacant room next door for our children. While we were happy to pay for this is was disappointing that it couldnt be offered at a discount. Unfortunately we had water problems again on our last day - cold showers in the morning. The beds were ok, not great, and overall the place could do with some updating. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others looking for a low key, comfortable and safe place to stay.
