My friends and I spent two nights at the mawe luxury tented camp in Dec 2019. We started driving from our hotel in Arusha around 9am in the morning expecting to arrive to the tent between 5-6pm in the evening however due to bad road conditions and heavy rain, our car and several others were stack in the mud multiple times and finally when we arrived to the tent it was close to 9pm.
My worst experience however was not from the road condition and the rain but it was from the tent it self. The tents are all surrounded by ants, spiders are everywhere inside and outside, the floors are wet, hot shower isn’t guaranteed because they use solar power to heat the waters and they recommend you to take shower only in the evening.
There’s WiFi but the signal strength is very poor and it’s not available the whole night.
The laundry service is a rip off and you should never try it.

Love the restaurant as it’s set up in a very warm and welcoming setting. we arrived after sunset due to the bad and slippery conditions of the road leading to the camp. Our car got stuck hence the delay on arrival. Room is very dark, even after turning on all the lights. Could do more in terms of enhancing the lightings and facilities in the camp as it’s “luxury”. Bedding is soft and comfortable.

The property is situated in a beautiful location where you can watch sunrise from your bed and hear lions roaring in the early morning.

They left me for stranded with my two kids overnight in the Serengeti. After a long time trying to get through, the manager refused to help and then repeatedly hung up on me when I called back. Despite our best attempts, and repeated denial from the camp, we never were able to make it to the hotel and they refused to refund the money. I took screenshots of the problem and can provide documentation. I have booked through hotels.com 30-40 times and this is far and away the worse treatment I have ever received. Worse, I have never had any hotel toy with mine and my kids' safety. I will never stay here again and even if the chances are low, I wouldn't roll the dice with my own kids on this place. Too high a cost for a hotel that does not care about their customers.

Very memorable dinner around the fire. The staffs were singing and dancing very happily from their heart. The beddings are awesome, slept very well for 2 nights. The dinner soup were delicious. The location is not at map so for the first time it’s hard to find.

Located in central serengeti, in the middle of the plains - we heard lions roaring at night. Mawe is a tented camp. So, expect amenities conducive to tents, e.g., hot water is available in the evening for a short time until the stored water runs out. The tents are very well furnished. Fabulous, friendly and helpful staff. Wi-fi is spotty and available only in the lounge tent. Highly recommend. A wonderful experience if you are looking for a luxurious small camp in the middle of the wilderness.

Great place, just a bit remote and hard to find if you are self-driving. But the staff made up for it.
