My stay, was okay but had a few problems, Aircon broke right before bed and was not fixable, so we had to transfer rooms. The restaurant was under construction so had to leave the hotel to get food.

The property has a lot of history and in itself is a very beautiful and elegant building. It’s by the water with lovely views of boats, lights and sunsets.
The pros: Staff were incredibly sweet and attentive, the breakfast buffet was so nice to sit and enjoy without feeling rushed. The air conditioning was very cool and nice in the room, the pool was nice as was the workout room which also had filtered water.
The cons: Due to the nature of its size I can imagine it takes A LOT to maintain which has its minuses. Mold and leaks were present throughout despite its updated and beautiful finishings. Not much room storage as the furniture had false drawers. No fridge or safe in the room as well. The comforter wasn’t very thick and no hand towels / ample toilet paper were provided.
Overall I do recommend this place as a place you want to feel catered to with authentic care. Just be mindful it’s an old historic building and some amenities were lacking.

Hassle free check in, room is clean and spacious as expected, and the service guy helped bring our luggage to our room. Loved the bottles of water on the counter.

The property is clean, convenient and the staff are very helpful and courteous. But the best part is how great the property look, it took me to another era!

Very historical facility! Fantastic views of Manila Bay. Walking distance to Rizal Park, Intramuros, light rail, eateries, entertainment, etc. Quiet. Gym and pool upstairs; great facilities and staff. Fabulous hotel staff! And a 2 minute walk to the US embassy.

Staffs are not friendly and accommodating during night shift. Water is dripping on any rooms we get. No hot water to take a shower, and no water during the typhoon for 2 days. We have an overall bad experience during our stay.

There was only hot water for the first day of our stay. Some days had no water and some days had water in our room. We were transferred to a room without a view and weren't given the difference in price. The restaurant ran out of most of the food. At one point only being offered pancit, rice and eggs for dinner. Understanding this is Typhoon/Monsoon season, but these happen every year and ceilings shouldn't be leaking or collapsing if this is an annual occurrence. The Casino is now closed but it was listed on the page for booking. This would have been fun entertainment when we were stuck inside on rainy days.

The room service didnt even bother to check if we still have waters, at we tried to call room service at night but no one was picking up, we called the front desk and no one was there.

The hotel used to be the old Army Navy club and it is literally next door to the US embassy. Beautiful hotel although there is a distinct musty smell right when you enter and some parts of the hotel. My parents thought it was due to being next to the bay. The towels are older (not as white or crisp) but the most redeeming part is how well the staff works hard and greets you. I would definitely recommend paying the $3 option for bfast buffet. Felt like we were in a cruise ship and the 2 waitstaff there are best!

The place is impeccable. Very clean in all areas. Pool is refreshingly clean , locker rooms was also clean. Outstanding staff, from receptionist to dining staff. Everyone’s very respectful. Special notice to Celso of Rizal Cafe. Will stay here again without any reservations. Our room’s view was facing the waters, which was an extra perks.

Great central location for what we wanted (parks and historic area). Beautiful old building but showing its age. Getting drinks and food at the pool was really hard and were made to feel we were making it difficult.

For the price, i was definitely expecting a more polite staff. After a couple of days it was difficult to get my room cleaned. Even with the sign on the door for several ours.

Great hotel in a great location! Overall support from front desk staff was terrible. Only one was helpful and accommodating. The others were probably the worst I have encountered in the Philippines. For a level of hotel this establishment claims to be the staff should be more accommodating.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very kind and helpful. It was a close walk to the U.S. embassy which was a main point of interest in the hotel.

Excellent experience! The gym and sauna are outstanding amenities. However, disposable wipes and cups should be provided, instead of glasses for water so it could not be reused by unmindful gym users as well as equipment can be sanitized after use by each user.

Property is nice clean . Food price a little bit high . Staff are helpful . The only thing I don’t like eating breakfast kitchen staff not very professional in term of dining etiquette’s. Training will improve it.
Overall experience was good. Definitely i will be back to stay .

Old hotel, wallpaper coming off walls. Terrible facets on both shower and sink. Tv so old it made all shows look vintage. Mediocre breakfast

The decor in the rooms and corridors is tired and dated, carpets are threadbare but it is clean.
Hand soap was never replaced during our entire stay.
The pool was unavailable for 2 days due to cleaning/water issues.
Drinks and food prices are HIGH with additional charges.
The staff were really great throughout our stay.
The location of the hotel and its history are its USP.
Id stay again.

The property was pretty on the outside. The rooms were average. Workers were nice. Location was terrible. So much homelessness and poverty surrounding the area that’s just tragic. Didn’t feel unsafe but prepare for families, including children sleeping outside with no shoes. It was heart wrenching.

No hot water. The cold shower was something I’d rather be paid to do than pay to actually experience

The staff were really friendly and accomodating. The room was clean and the hotel was close enough to the tourist spots but more secluded than the other hotels.

Hotel was a historic and well iconic building. Beautiful and guest could watch the sunset by the Manila Bay. Located in the heart of Manila near historical places such as Luneta Park, Intramuros and Museums.

Disappointing - the hotel had a private birthday party in the evening which was noisy (impacted our room). Also, room service menu that was provided had virtually nothing available (and nor did restaurant) due to lack of supplies. Reception staff were asked to book taxis and did not arrange despite saying they would.
Beautiful building but overall disappointing service and food offering and unacceptable noise in the room in the evening.

The best thing about this hotel is staffs, they were really nice and helpful. Smile at you all the time. Greets you properly. Room were very clean too, the house cleaning lady is so nice. You guys really need to update the pictures, the pictures don’t do justice because the hotel is really pretty compare to the pictures. One thing I’m not happy with is breakfast. Overall, I’m satisfied with the service.

The overall place is great. Lobby is appealing and the facilities are clean and fully functioning however the 2nd floor area often have noise from people talking out loud some who are not even guests in the hotel. I hope they could at least caution people guests or not guest to minimize their voices especially along the accommodation hallways.
6.0 / 10.0
The staff are lazy and not paying attention to customer. They talk in group and giggling all the time. They don’t greet the guest good morning etc.

4 stars allows room for improvement
