Very good staff. Nice room & breakfast.

Very clean, comfortable hotel in a beautiful remote setting. Local eating options without driving are very limited to the Hotel, the Yew Tree Pub (excellent food and atmosphere) or campsite cafe which is only open during day and early Saturday evenings. Hotel does breakfast which starts late 7.45 am and ends 9.15, light lunch and one dinner session at 7.30 pm. Dinner is very expensive with very limited options. Ate dinner once. It was ok. Dinning room staff at breakfast could be more customer friendly.

Not brilliant, to be honest. The setting is stunning, the staff perfectly friendly and helpful. The single room I had was a little travel lodge like. From photos, the doubles look a little more worthy of the price. The main issue I had was the dinner. Firstly, the regimented 7.30pm dining time is something I've never experienced in the many i've stayed in in my life. It felt a little school-like, congregating at the dining-room and taking our seats for a meal chosen that morning at breakfast. Very strange. Secondly, the food was ok, not brilliant, but main quibble was, every evening i was there, it was something with mash. Always. Mash mash mash. No choice of any other potato. Additionally, no choice of what vegetable side. The same snap peas every night, with either broccoli or carrots, plain. For what would normally be £45 for a three course meal, you'd think we could choose our sides and what potato we would like. Now, if you book dinner over a week in advance you get a £10 discount. Ok. But still, I had mash for three consecutive nights. All this suspiciously suggests it is alleviating as much work for the chef as possible. Doesn't happen at the Bridge Hotel, which I would certainly recommend over this I'm afraid. Staff and everyone excellent as I say. Clean, gorgeous setting, just wish it were a little more like a hotel when it comes to meal. Oh, and flies. A hell of a lot of flies kept us company in the dining room, lounge and foyer.

Visited solo for some fell walking. The location is unbeatable for whole day walks direct from the hotel up to nearby fells like Dale Head, Great Gable, or Newlands Valley to Cat Bells. Hotel was all good, comfortable modern room, well run, amazing views from the room. Food was excellent.
4.0
Large hotel offering good sized rooms, comfortable beds and complimentary breakfast. There's a restaurant on site as well as a bar along with lounge areas. The views are amazing especially when the sun shines. There are plenty of opportunities for walking, a large carpark and a bus stop only a 2 minute walk away.

Beautiful place. Downside is the heater doesn’t work all the time, or at all some days. Wifi is almost nonexistent if you are not close to the common area. And the hot water is not really “hot” lukewarm at best.

Good stay with newly renovated rooms.

Outstanding Hospitality. Outstanding Accommodation. Outstanding Location. Was made to feel very welcome and this is a real favourite place to come to, surrounded by mountains, and the perfect escape from the stresses of life!

Absolutely loved our stay here for bank holiday weekend. Such a clean hotel with lovely staff and a really beautiful hotel right in the heart of the mountains. It is dog friendly too which was perfect. We walked into Seatoller for dinner which was 5 minutes away and dined in the Yew Tree pub which was delicious and spent the rest of the night at the hotel outside with a wine. Only downside for us was that the hotel room was very hot during the night despite the radiator being off! But overall we would definitely stay again

From reception to checking out staff were pleasant and professional, hotel was spotless and very well maintained. Food was lovely, especially the breakfast. Only small criticism was size of room for a twin , which was a little cramp although the bathroom was a good size.

Perfect location. All staff extremely friendly and helpful from bar to waiting staff in restaurant. Marta on reception was absolutely lovely and helpful she added son to our booking for evening meal on last minute with no hesitation. Evening meal was one of the nicest meals we have ever had. Taste and presentation exemplary. We will certainly be recommending this hotel to friends and family and we hope to visit again soon.

Glaramara is located in a beautiful location surrounded by hills. The location is secluded yet it is just 15mins drive from the keswick centre. The facilities and amenities are very good. Rooms have nice and very clean with view of the green hills surrounding it. Totally worth the money.

This was the most expensive hotel of my trip to date, i expected more. It looked really nice but the finish wasnt top notch. You couldnt hear the loud music due to the racket made from something that sounded like it was about to blowup. That did finally quieten down however i couldnt block the light from everywhere including under the door which i dont think meets fire regs but the worst thing was it was so hot. Oh and you have to eat at a certain time so dont be late.

Lovely hotel, stunning scenery. Staff excellent. Food great.
We loved our stay .

The staff were really helpful and friendly. I’m gluten and dairy intolerant and the restaurant went out of its way to accommodate my requirements. The food was amazing.

The road to the property from Keswick was narrow and in one or two places only one vehicle could pass. Once there, the scenery was magnificent, the hotel was exceptionally clean throughout, our room was large (as was the very comfortable bed) and the en-suite shower room was sparkling. The breakfast was very good and each room`s table had a place name on it. Coffee and/or tea and toast were individually served to your table though the remainder of the breakfast was help yourself from a buffet bar. Altogether an excellent and enjoyable stay.

Perfect location in Borrowdale with great Mountain views from the lounge and patio. The hotel runs like clockwork, everything was clean and worked well. Breakfast was excellent, especially the perfect poached eggs. Very good choices for dinner. Very reasonable room rates - brilliant value for money. Nothing negative to say.

Lovely location hotel itself is lovely but room was backed onto a yard with refrigerator going on off all night no sleep at all abs bed was hard not comfortable at all

Relaxing and secluded private hotel in woodland setting. Great staff, amazing food, comfy bed, good bar with craft beer and nice lounge to relax and enjoy the view. 10 mins south of Borrowdale so no lake view but the mountain view from my room and dining table was spectacular. At night there's no noise pollution, just the occasional call of sheep and the wind rustling the leaves...
