It is expensive for just a Motel, the place is OK, but next time I am getting something cheaper.

Friendly staff. Clean room and overall motel grounds. Very comfortable bed. Spacious room. Great quality free coffee. Great location.
Internet was intermittent or not working, especially at night. Poor Verizon cellular service.

My husband and I have stayed at the El Vado Motel a number of times over the past 4 years. We love the retro feel of the motel, location and the rooms are very comfortable. It’s nice to have the taproom, shops and restaurants on site.
This time though was slightly disappointing. The front desk staff was not nearly as welcoming. Our room had definite signs of wear and tear; dirty walls, paint chipped, broken headboard and stained towels. Not a huge deal overall but worth mentioning. We will most likely stay here again and recommend it if you are visiting Albuquerque.

Clean and updated eclectic hotel. Comfortable accommodations and tastefully decorated. Excellent value and within walking distance of old historic Albuquerque.

Great stop along Historic Route 66 and close to ABQ BioPark and Old Town. Property was well-maintained and updated.
WiFi was a consistent problem, but we learned upon checkout that a hot air balloon (from the International Balloon Fiesta) had apparently hit a WiFi tower. Only other complaint was that there was no shower curtain on the zero-barrier access to the shower (ADA room), leaving water to go everywhere.
We did enjoy a beer at the bar one evening but didn't take full advantage of the restaurant, patio, or pool (chilly evenings). Overall great stay and would recommend it.

Great stay, just had an issue with the key card all weekend long! Other than that nice place, the bed was super comfortable

Beautiful little motel within walking distance of Old Town Albuquerque. Nicely remodeled. Suite was very comfortable & surprisingly quiet even though the motel is on a main road. Fun to stay in a place with some history, a refurbished Route 66 motel.

The room was comfortable enough, however the finishes were showing quite a bit of wear. The property was nice overall, retro chic, and the price was good so I think it was a good value for what you got. Unfortunately it seems as though the room could already use a bit of revamping.

Beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean, retro style hotel. The El Vado is a few blocks from Old Town Albuquerque. It has a lovely pool area that the rooms look onto, but the pool perhaps needs to be cleaned more regularly. The patio area was very inviting.

Cute hotel! I didn’t sleep… heard the toilet running about every 30 minutes and the air conditioner made a knocking noise once in awhile. Also prefer a comforter/blanket that has a little weight. Loved that it was walking distance to nice shops and old town, and on okd route 66.

Clean facility and comfortable bed. Navigation lead us to the address behind the motel. Took a while to figure out where the office was. Also, the motel parking spots are marked compact, and we have a larger vehicle. Although some big vehicles were parked there. Otherwise, had to share parking lot with commercial property as well as apartments. The room was very small and for two people only had one chair but had room for another. It could have a small fridge and microwave if they didn’t have so many storage cabinets like a 4drawer dresser. Although the facility is reminiscent of a route 66 motel, the theme evidently is more for parties as the common area between the row of cabins is filled with a pavilion, swimming pool, etc. For the price paid, too many other choices in the area With much better accommodations even for an overnight stay for two people. Very disappointed.

The El Vado is a little gem! Everyone is super friendly, and the dining options on-site are excellent! Also, there’s a sweet little patio with misters to keep you cool while you’re eating outside. The standard rooms are a bit small, so I recommend getting a bigger room or suite if you can afford it. Nice place!

Nice motel with some history, nicely restored and close to Old Town. Friendly staff!

This is a great property, conveniently located on route 66. Although on route 66, our room was very quiet. We loved the vibe of this place. There’s a lot happening to participate if you wish to we appreciate the on-site taproom, the choice On site restaurants that delivered To our table, the happy hour for hotel guests that went on all evening, and the pool for guests. Our room looked recently renovated and was quite contemporary. Although Small, the room had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

My bed was more comfortable than many hotels. Hostess Ana made the stay 10x better than it already was with her amazing service. Rooms are beautiful, great vibe, everything offered at the motel from drinks, food and live entertainment daily. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

It was windy and there was something loose on the roof that caused a loud banging in our room. Could not find any staff at the desk to help. Finally walked around the back of the room and found a circuit box door was open and banging in the wind. I fixed it but then it started up again. Finally found a staff member that tied it up. 2 hours after hearing the banging.

There is no restaurant in the hotel, just a bar that serves beer and wine. Other dining options nearby.

Amazing restoration on a 1937 property. There is a bar that serves a good selection of beer. There is also some food/coffee outlets on property. Pool was interesting but had a lot of “floaters” in it. Room could use a fridge and microwave. Outdoor furniture could be replaced. Cushions had sun damage

Super clean and updated. Quaint motel.

What a lovely place. Lovely people. Great food. Comfy beds. Great shower.

We loved our stay at this completely remodeled, historic motel. If you are someone who tries to avoid the run-of-the-mill basic hotel with average ‘free’ breakfast, then you will enjoy this place. The front desk attendant is nice and helpful and our king suite was quiet and comfortable.

Hate that we didnt have more time to spend there! Hidden gem in the middle of town

We love this renovated motel! It’s so cute and has an awesome pool for kids!
Downside- loud cars can be heard at night.

They didn't have our room reservation ready and wanted to give us a room with only one bed. Then the toilet did not work. They tried to provide us with a key to another room where we could use the bathroom or move to another bedroom. Then, at 9 p.m., they closed the bar of on-tap beer. The girl at the check-in had to call someone to assist her in doing everything. Needless to say, we checked out and asked for a refund.

Excellent spot to stay when exploring Albuquerque. Close walk to Old Town and lots of great, affordable restaurants. We were tired from travelling all day and were thrilled to know we could eat at one of three restos on site and get happy hour prices till closing at the tap room and the neighbouring motel cocktail lounge too! Bed was beyond comfortable and clean and the staff were amazing and helpful. We’re going back to explore more of Old Albuquerque and Route 66 at the end of our trip. Highly recommend! Go to Duran’s pharmacy for breakfast (don’t ask…just do it) Diner IS open on Sundays but the actual pharmacy isn’t (so don’t trust Google) Their mimosas are great as well. Enjoy!

Great ambience and comfy bed.

Front desk staff usually unavailable. No housekeeping - told we should have arranged for it in advance, No refrigerator or microwave. Bathroom in need of cosmetic work. Close to Old Town, Comfortable bed. Pretty pricey for what you get.

Overall great place. Good sized room (king) even for a family of three, very clean and comfortable. Fun (though small) pool, part of large and courtyard with lots of comfortable seating, which we would have enjoyed even more had it not been so hot.
Location was good too, close to Old Town if you want that.
In room coffee and even better coffee available throughout the day at the front desk. The tap room was a nice addition though I don't think they actually honored any guest discount or happy hour they had promoted to us. It also inexplicably closed early, which was disappointing. I say inexplicable because the staff member upon check in had told us the hours, but when I saw it closing much earlier than that and asked, she just said "yes, we're just closing now" without explanation or apology.
Wifi was spotty.
One annoyance regarding check in. We'd called ahead to ask for a slightly early check in. On the phone the staff member told us it would be no problem, we even said we'd come later than they offered. But when we arrived not only did they say we had to wait until normal check in, but they looked at me as if I was crazy, they had no knowledge of the previous conversation and promise. That was frustrating, especially since we could have taken more time on our way but had chosen to get there early to rest. It was a very hot day and we were forced to find a way to kill time.

Love this motel, it's gorgeous. We felt so safe here, every room is within a enclosed court yard only accessible with a room key card. Pool area was great. Walking distance of food places.

The right quarters, inconvenience of everything that wasn't there. Nonexistent staff. UNSAFE areas around the neighborhood, but also inside because of the things left from construction!
We stayed there because my patient just got released from surgery. I had to keep him in the car for the majority of the time there. Unreal! Y'all need to make this right!

Fantastic place!

Cute rooms, good location. Downside was no fridge or microwave. Water pressure insane lol

Came in to town to attend a wedding and the reception was held in the Event Center in the motel. Love this property! All the employees were super nice and helpful. The motel is in an excellent location with the Zoo being across the street and many restaurants nearby. There was a live band in the courtyard on Friday night and a cocktail bar on the premises.

Super cute hotel with a cool vibe, just across the street from the Botanical Garden and Aquarium; just a few blackish from old town. The food and drink available are great, just be aware that the restaurants close at 6:30 and the bar at 8:30. Nice pool.

This was a great stay and I would love to come back again. The Coffee was excellent and it was amazing close to Mesa Verde.
