Shhhhh don’t tell anyone. This is the place to come for tradition with a slightly modern elegance. Quick, serene, simple, quaint, delicate and delightful. My solo room was perfect. Please do not go here if you want an American style hotel. This is Japan at its best and a great place to unwind and sit in stillness. I loved it for my first two nights in japan. I could’ve used one more night The bath on the rooftop was a little oasis The food was incredible traditional style Japanese fish set was impeccable But again, if you’re looking for a traditional American style breakfast, this is not the place to come. I will be back. I loved the area and the walks along the river.

Excellent staff members that were helpful and kind. Shout out to Yoko-san and Koji-san for a great welcome experience with tea and introductions. Open air bath experience was great and rooms were cozy and beautiful. Would definitely recommend to others. Breakfast was also delicious.

Very nice! Comfortable! Stress less
(No breakfast until 8, so you’ll have to skip if you have early plans😬)

Taiga was excellent as well as the entire staff!!! See you next time!

A charming place with fantastic staff. Excellent breakfast, too. Great ryokan experience!

This is by far the best accommodation I experienced in Japan (or maybe in my life)! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The rooms, though small, are cozy and clean. They smell amazing, too. The onsen is very relaxing with views of Tokyo sky tree. I also stayed in the room with the private outdoor bath and it was heavenly.
The breakfast was delicious. Overall, I could not recommend this ryokan more. It was amazing!!!!!!

Stayin in a tradition Ryokan was an amazing experience. The staff were so kind and gracious, they really went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Only stayed one night due the availability at the time but would have loved to stay longer especially after spending the night at the hotel. Had no issues communicating with staff as they also spoke English. Staff were very welcoming and explained the concept of their traditional Japanese style hotel in detail. They also showed genuine interest in their guests and were available to offer any assistance. We pre booked and used the private onsen which is definitely a must. Great location and close to the Sensō-ji temple. The room and hotel were very tranquil which was a nice change from other hotels we had stayed at during our holiday. There is no fridge in the room however there is a communal fridge available to use within the entrance which was no problem for us. We were served the traditional Japanese breakfast in our room at a pre arranged time and were given a slightly later check out time which was much appreciated. After check out the hotel safely stored our luggage until we returned later in the day which was greatly appreciated.

The staffwere lovely and friendly, catering to our every need. The rooms were quaint and the onsen was so relaxing. We would definitely go again.

I loved my short time at Cyashitsu Ryokan. The staff were all so sweet and helpful. The rooms are set up in traditional style, so be aware the doorways and ceiling are low. It's a short walk from Senso-ji and Asakusa Station. Asakusa is an interesting area; full of covered markets and great food. The ryokan even has a big book or restaurant and entertainment recommendations. Breakfast was Japanese style and delicious. The private bath is great if you're shy like me. Above the privacy curtain, you can see Tokyo Skytree alight at night. I will definitely be staying at Cyashitsu the next time I'm in Tokyo.

Everything was so good!

Friendly, kind and informative staff. True comfortable Japanese ryokan, with modern and traditional atmosphere.

The reviews are all correct! Yuko was the best host and left an anmazing impression on us! Pricey but worth it! I wish could have started longer to enjoy it longer!

The staff was wonderful. We were late to our scheduled breakfast (sumimasen!) and there wasn't any issue. The private outdoor onsen was a dream and that's probably the most restful night's sleep I had on this vacation.

This ryokan is one of my best experiences ever in Japan, and I’ve travelled here close to 50 times in my lifetime. The staff was friendly to a level I’ve never seen anywhere before - no exaggeration. The room was small but the experience felt completely authentic. The futons were super comfortable, and the bath on top of the building was amazing at night as well as daytime. I couldn’t recommend this place any more warmly.

The ryokan is a lovely place to stay. Our hosts were so nice and even recomended places to visit based on our likes. They also have a private onsen you can book once you check in to relax in. Highly recommend if you are looking for a traditional Japanese experience.

Really nice - would return

The staffs are amazing and so welcoming, making people feel at home. The onsen is a wonderful way to relax after a long day touring around Tokyo.

Is a highlight in our trip to Japan! Fully recommend it!

My partner and I had an amazing time at Cyashitsu. I’ll give a 100/10 to all the hosts we met (Minato, Taiga, Yoko Ono, etc…) I’ll definitely stop by there my next visit in Tokyo. Thank you so much!!!

The customer service was outstanding

Real nice hotel and one should be rather quiet as the wall between your room and the corridor is tatami gate, made of paper material. Security is good as you can lock the door and also there is a safe inside. Hosts were excellent in that they tried to communicate more with guests. You are given a 45 minute slot for bath and it is first come first reserved system. The bath is not 100% your own space as there are taller buildings around watching you, although it is blurred by trees around. The bath time is too short and it should be used 24 hours as far as it is vacant.

Such a beautiful space. The breakfast is delicious and a great start to the day. Definitely make sure to book into the roof-top bath!

The staff was absolutely wonderful. We felt welcomed and cared for. I would go there again.

Beautiful room, awesome breakfast and most of all, tremendous service. The people who work there treated us exceptionally.
4.8
The hospitality was unbeatable! The staff truly treat you like family and are very welcoming. We arrived late and the staff was very accommodating, even providing us with a snack. They took her luggage up to her room and introduced us to ryokan operations.
The rooms are very small and cozy. The sleeping mats for very comfortable. The private onsen (have to reserve a time to use) was very relaxing.
My only regret was not staying here for more than one night. I highly recommend I look forward to returning again in the future.

Lovely room and spa with excellent staff. Breakfast was phenomenal and it's a short walk to the magnificent Senso-Ji and many other tourist attractions! Would highly recommend this Ryokan!

There's only one small tub (can seat two people).

Very nice space

It was a bit far of a walk to transit but really enjoyed the service team. They were very kind and accommodating. Great experience.

Amazing experience. I thought I knew what hospitality was but the experience at Cyashitsu showed me something on another level. The breakfast was something else as well - very light but surprisingly tasty, it made me hungrier than before I started. You can tell that this was prepared with passion and heart, not by ingredients alone.
It was unfortunate for us as we arrived during a typhoon and had to lug our suitcases with us - otherwise, it is still kind of walkable, if you take the correct exit (most exits do not have lifts with them, you have to carry your suitcases up).
Thank you to Yuka and the rest of the family at Cyashitsu! Looking forward to our next time!

I had an amazing stay at Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa - I wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms are a perfect size and the hospitality of the hosts are unmatched. I loved how welcoming and friendly they were, it really started my trip to Tokyo off on a good foot. They made great recommendations for dinner that night and my only regret is that I could not stay longer. The traditional breakfast was amazing and I will definitely stay here longer the next time I am in Tokyo. 5/5

As long as you know what you’re getting before you go, it’s a beautiful ryokan with the most peaceful experience you could ask for.
It’s cosy, but that’s the point. The bed was comfortable, it’s super quiet, staff are lovely with good English skills, and overall the best place I stayed at in all of Tokyo.
4.8
I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a traditional Japanese experience! Perfect and comfortable ryokan with a private onsen; they even deliver you free breakfast in bed! The staff are wonderful. Amazing Japanese restaurant right around the corner. Convenient location, close to Senso-ji Temple and public transportation. I will be staying here again!

This is small (10 unit) ryokan in the Asakusa district of Japan. The atmosphere is warm, simple, and intimate. The staff is delightful. I’ve traveled for years and never written a review about a hotel before, but do so here because this hotel does what it set out to do exceptionally well. I love the place.

What an amazing Ryokan right in the heart of Tokyo! It's both less expensive and nicer than other ryokans in Asakusa. From the tea room to the incredible staff, to the gorgeous, modern rooms, definitely consider staying here instead of a normal hotel next time you're in the area. Their reservable open-air bath with the Skytree view is something else.
The only negative is that it is a slightly longer walk to their location from train stations compared to other Ryokans in the area, but that means you get to see the Senso-ji temple on the way!
