The were very caring and friendly.
Unfortunately you only can pay in cash there, also the permit for the gorilla was only in cash and they even charged 50 Usd more as an extra fee.

Beautiful place at the edge of the forest.

We really enjoyed being at karungi camp! The staff is super friendly, helping out and the food is just delicious! In the evening we played games together which was so fun! We did the gorilla trekking at Rushaga and it was just perfect! Gordy helped us out getting everything settled for that. Even if your not doing the trekking we highly recommend that place! The area is really nice and the community has a lot of important and interesting projects going on, wich were impressive to see!

Beautiful region in close distance to the Bwindi Park. Excellent breakfast and dinner provided by young chef and the friendly staff.

Karungi camp is a good starting point for gorilla trekking, it’s about 7km, 20-30 minutes drive from the park entrance (but they are already building a second entrance closer to it)
They also offer a number of other options to get to know the community. we went for a short hike with Justus and it was very interesting! our room was clean and comfortable, and the hot shower is really the best! Godon was very helpful with all our requests. the food was amazing, strongly recommended the beef steak!
be prepared for a rough ride if you drive here after rain!

Super friendly staff
Power cuts occurred a couple of times and one of the beds did not have mosquito net

Karungi Camp is by far the best place I have stayed in Africa. I booked 1 night so I could trek with the gorillas on the following day, but ended up staying for 4 nights, trekking twice, and not wanting to leave! Of course seeing the mountain gorillas is a unforgettable experience, but my time at Karungi made my whole time in Uganda even more special. Gordy was incredibly helpful and played a big part of organising my trip, arranging transportation, finding me accommodation and sorting activities and logistics. The food was exceptional and the staff were some of the kindest I have met, whether it was Yason lending me a pair of shoes and walking me into town, or Aisha cleaning my kit after the trek and serving me tea, they were all amazing. The accommodation was also great, very comfortable with hot showers surrounded by nature, I would definitely recommend Karungi Camp.

The staff, the food, the location... We loved spending two nights there!!! We would come back!

The best location to stay if you want to visit Gorilla's in Nkuringo!
Nothing, we had a great stay.

We felt like at home. Amazing staff who was taking care of us everything. Karungi is located in the village of Rubuguri, 30 minutes ride to Rushaga gate in Bwindi. There is a local wood carver Micheal living next to Karungi and I highly recommend his works. Lovely guy. We miss all of the staff from Karungi.
Food a bit pricy. Transportation too but you have to deal with it if you choose to stay so far away from nearest town. I can asure you it's worth it anyway.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nice garden area for drinks and nice hot shower in the room. Good mosquito net provided for the bed and generator on the property for lights. Very close to the Rushaga group gorilla treks. The staff can also arrange other hikes or tours in the area and they support the local community with the sale of crafts.
A little pricey for what you get, but seems to be going rate in the area. Close to a significant sized town, so can be a bit noisy at night.
