This bright, cozy coach house is your ideal base in Oak Park. It was originally the coachman's quarters behind a 1909 Prairie-style house, now converted into modern guest lodging.

The coach house is above the garage at the end of a long driveway (free parking included!) on a quiet street, in the heart of the Frank Lloyd Wright district. It's a short walk from the FLW home and studio, Ernest Hemingway's birthplace, vibrant downtown Oak Park, and trains to downtown Chicago.

A VRBO property that was private, well stocked, free parking and affordable. The hosts were easy to contact though my stay was problem free. The Oak Park neighborhood is beautiful, historic and a paradise only 9 miles from the Loop and a short train ride into a great American city. And for a fan of architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright this property is a wonderful home base.

Came to area for short getaway to attend Cubs game. The rental was just as described. Clean, quiet and comfy. It had all the things we needed. We took Lyft in our two main outings as we didn’t know the area for feel up for the trans system. We enjoyed the outdoor area at the house. It has a firepit you can use with purchasing wood from the host. Tempting.. but it was very hot the few days there. The host, Andy, was 100% quick to respond to inquiries and I appreciate that! Just a note that there are stairs to enter the unit and if you have mobility issues plan accordingly. I would love to visit again!

Although quite small, the place is cute. There are some important elements in place to assure a comfortable stay, such as good lighting, good water temperature and appliances in good working condition. We are very familiar with the town, that's the reason for our choice, especially available parking. Sadly, the place wasn't clean. Dirty fridge and furniture very dusty. Too bad.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay. The garage door opener/closer (just below) is a bit noisy. The mattress was comfortable which provided a good night's rest. Very desirable neighborhood.

Wonderful location and neighborhood with responsive hosts. Garage apartment with charming ceiling details (watch your head going up the stairs if you're tall) and antique armoire with extra bedding inside. Easy walking to downtown Oak Park with lots of restaurants and shops. Close access to highway for trips to far suburbs and downtown. Off street parking is awesome. A bit of a challenge getting in and out with a larger vehicle, just watch out for the tree stump on the north side of the driveway. Just wish we were there when we could use the awesome patio and firepit!

The Coach house is quite beautiful inside, and quite comfortable. It is in a very safe neighborhood, and close to mass transit, downtown Oak Park, restaurants and the Frank Lloyd Wright home & Studio. It was all we needed! Any issues we had were tended to quickly. We would definitely stay here again!!!

My husband and I stayed in the Oak Park coach house for the weekend of the Wright Ride (a bike ride around Oak Park and farther w/stops at Frank Lloyd Wright houses). It was a quiet and relaxing accommodation, and the perfect location for the start of the ride. I would recommend the coach house wholeheartedly!

My husband and I stayed here over a long weekend to help move my son into his Oak Park apartment for the start of med school. It was a PERFECT location, in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Convenient to everything. The hosts were very flexible and responsive. We had a wonderful trip and would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for a week while we moved our daughter to her new Oak Park apartment. It was the perfect place to come home to each day. The off street parking was greatly appreciated. The walk to and from the Oak Park Lake Street was lovely as we passed by many historic homes. We didn’t cook but did use the coffee maker. Breakfast at the Courageous Bakery and Cozy Corner were great. Communication with the owner was easy. We will stay again!

The coach house was a comfortable retreat from the hustle and bustle of Chicago. The apartment is spacious, clean, and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. While our main focus was visiting sites and family in downtown Chicago, we also enjoyed strolling around beautiful Oak Park admiring the Frank Lloyd Wright houses. We also had some wonderful meals on Lake Street. The only time we had a question, our hosts answered almost immediately. Thanks for making us so welcome.

Comfy Guest Loft on a beautiful estate in the middle of Oak Park. Short walk away from Downtown OP, the 'L' and to many Frank Lloyd Wright properties. The owners were nice and easy to work with. Great place to stay.

Nice quiet romantic location for a getaway in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. Close to some excellent dining and worth just walking around and gawking at the beautiful mansions throughout the area. The architecture is amazing and the hosts were extremelt responsive and excellent to work with. Will definitely stay again.

Absolutely great value for the rental. Neighborhood is clean, safe, and quiet. Unit was kept fantastically clean, A/C worked amazingly and was by far the most quiet AC I've ever seen. I will do my best to stay here any time I visit in the future!

This property is ideal for short visits to Oak Park for business or pleasure. It's tucked away behind a large home and very private., with onsite parking for one or possibly two vehicles. We did not cook, but it has a full, clean kitchen. My only criticism is that the futon isnt comfortable and a bit too low to serve as a sofa.

The pictures of this unique place are great, but far more amazing seeing in person! Absolutely loved staying there! Beautiful historical area with lots to do nearby. Even with so much to do nearby, it was very quiet. The architecture is amazing and the place is just unique, clean, quiet….so many wonderful things! I highly recommend if ever in this area! The hosts are exceptional which added to an already awesome trip!

The apartment is above the garage, so you have the place all to yourself. The owners are great with their communication. You are close to downtown so if you wanted to take a nice walk it's close. Great location. Great Owners. Will definitely stay again.

Andy and Lia's place was the perfect spot for my last minute, solo long-weekend getaway! The neighborhood is safe and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and it's an easy walk into downtown Oak Park! If you want to head into the city, the green line is just a 10 min walk away! The kitchen had everything I needed to whip up a meal. The check in/ check out processs was a breeze - Andy and Lia were kind enough to give me an early arrival and a late departure and they let me keep my car parked until it was time for me to head to the airport. I highly recommend this spot to a solo traveler, a couple, or a couple of friends looking to have a great stay!

We were in town for my daughter’s multi-day dance competition at Dominican University. This was the perfect space to return to in-between performances to make a quick meal and relax! Beautiful, quiet neighborhood with access to so many restaurants and shops nearby! I took 1 star away in cleanliness but it’s actually maintenance. The first 2 days we were there the temps were extremely cold outside and the heater kept it warm but it was still a tad bit drafty. The heater in the bathroom was a huge plus!! Also water pressure issues and a broken towel hook that the owner was aware of and warned me of or fixed. The communication was top-notch! Just a note for those with noise sensitivities- it is above the garage so you are able to hear the door open and close as the owners come and go, just FYI. Wasn’t an issue at all for us, and would stay here again!
