The Space:
Your home has everything you need to enjoy the outdoor/indoor lifestyle of The Berkshires. Imagine waking up to quiet birdsong, and the whispering of the trees, settling onto the front porch of your home for the week with a piping hot cup of coffee. The faint sounds of the natural environment and the morning Berkshires light will nudge you awake and make the perfect backdrop from which to start your day. Head back inside to the heart of every home - the kitchen, renovated and ready for you to make home cooked meals including a gas stove, double sink and stainless steel appliances.
Pull up a stool and chat as your fellow travelers flip pancakes or serve up local farm-raised eggs with a fresh baguette with sea salt butter from Berkshire Mountain Bakery (just a 5 min drive away) for a hearty breakfast. Depending on the season, unwind out in the back for a festive breakfast meal on the outdoor deck or spread out in the light-filled high-vaulted ceiling dining room. Well stocked kitchen with all the necessary cooking/serving items including cookware, pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs and silverware. Coffee lovers unite: you’ll find an electric burr coffee grinder to grind fresh beans (may we recommend our local roasters at Six Depot in West Stockbridge) drip coffee maker, Chemex and Fresh Press. Four stools at the kitchen counter, and an extendable walnut dining room table that can seat 10-12 guests. Plenty of space for all to enjoy home cooked meals after a day of hiking/kayaking/swimming/skiing/exploring before heading outside for s’mores around the firepit.
Your home for the week is perfect for large families, or family reunions. Around the corner from the Housatonic River, the home offers lots of space to gather and lots of space to “exhale” from one another. Plenty of opportunity to connect as a group and also to retreat as sub-groups or individuals as needed. The house was an interesting set-up and there was plenty to do on the property (swings, ping pong, weights, games). We did not have great weather, so we really appreciated that. A couple of negatives; first, five of the eight dining room chairs were unsafe (one leg unattached). We reported this the first day, but no one came out to fix the chairs. Also, one of the bedrooms (1st floor) had no AC, so we only used it for one night. There was a fire pit, but no logs available, so we scrounged through the damp woods to find firewood. The refrigerator filtered water dispenser was not hooked up. Finally, other VRBO houses we have rented have had guest books with recommendations for local restaurants, hikes, activities, etc. There was no guest book. So this one was overall adequate, but fell short of other VRBO listings that we have rented.

The property was very nice, easy check in process and the host were very easy to communicate with. We had 2 families with 6 kids in total, everyone had enough space. The kids loved the basement with the ping pong table and own TV. There was a fire pit, basketball hoop and enough space out side foe the kids to run around. We went to butternut ski slopes which was about 10 mins away. They also have tubbing. Not much in terms of entertainment at night, but there was lots to do at house, fully stocked kitchen, games and puzzels. We had a great time.

Great property, responsive hosts, serene wooded area. They were flexible and generous to offer us both early check-in and late check-out. Thanks to the hosts!

Three families gathered for a weekend to reconnect and enjoy the beauty of the fall. The house did not disappoint. There was ample room for all 11 of us. Our dogs had plenty of space to play. The kids loved, loved the basement space. It gave the adults time and space to enjoy conversation and catching up while the kids played. We went on a fabulous hike just 10 min away and there was a lovely rail trail to run on just down the road. I wish we had more time, we could have easily stayed the week. Thank you so much to the hosts!!!
