Fabulous location, very friendly staff and superb food.

Amazingly designed, in an old style, in beautiful and calm colors. An amazing location on the edge of the fjord, convenient to continue driving on Route 55, a very comfortable bed and a good breakfast, with the option of making sandwiches for a fee.
In the room description it appears that there is a kitchenette, but no picture of the kitchenette is attached. When we arrived we were surprised to find that it was suitable for coffee/tea but not for cooking/heating food, and there were no dishes. I think it is important to attach a picture, because some people need special food because of their health. Despite everything, the staff was very nice, kind and attentive and adapted the dinner to our needs, so we could manage without a kitchen.

Beautiful spot on fjord. Delicious breakfast which catered for gluten free- served in converted barn. Staff were friendly & helpful. Easy off street parking.
Room was on second floor with only a view of fjord from one corner of the room. Being loft style, we banged our heads on the ceiling near the bed head a few times! Whilst this place is pretty & a great location, we still felt it was very expensive compared to other similar places we have stayed in the fjords.

Everything about Nes Gard was exceptional! The view from the rooms, the service, the food, the suggestions on what to do.
Breakfast was brought to my room promptly every morning and was included in the price I paid. If you want dinner, you will need to let them know ahead of time.
I stayed in the mirror house and couldn’t recommend it more. There is something special about waking up to 360* views of the fjords. Seriously, book the mirror house, you will not regret it.
The facilities include a sauna, hot tub and wine bar.

Great location, very friendly and welcoming staff and comfortable room.

Friendly, family run with lovely view. Very good breakfast. Room & bathroom was fine, bed and pillow comfy. Lovely view out window of sheep, church and fjord. We had a nice walk to the pier across street next to church. Had 3 course dinner which was lovely and chatted with people who live in Norway. Suggested wine pairs are nice but feel free to make your own choices if you want something to drink.
Parking was ok but difficult due to a wedding reception going on. Bit of a walk to carry in luggage.

The staff is very friendly and the Dinner was the best we had during our two weeks vacation in Norway.

Our room was spacious yet cozy and had an breathtaking view of the fjord, the church and the waterfall. The breakfast was sumptuous and delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed the sauna—an experience of a lifetime. Thank you for everything!

very nice room and view.
Breakfast was good.
We took the 3 course dinner at 490nok each, which was a very nice meal. Very well cooked and presented. (Set menu so no choices).
The 100nok for a pack lunch seemed too expensive so we did not take it.
Just thought that the rate per night was a bit high.

Location was amazing and the hotel really cozy and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We really suggest this place to everyone. We will return for sure.

a quirky place - overlooking an old church and the fjord with a view across to a thundering waterfall on the other side of the water. It is an old farmhouse with rooms of different character appropriate to the building they are in. we were in the main house in a traditional room which included a fully equipped kitchen. Other rooms included a 'glass box' with mirrored one-way glass.
Part of the experience was evening meal served to all guests together with no choice of dishes unless for dietary reasons. Food was good but the guests (20 altogether) on the night we were there made no attempt to make conversation - mostly looking at their phones constantly and the service was slow so there didn't seem to be any advantage to this arrangement.

Food was superb, nice stuff as well and great main building with reception and great location close to fjord, offering a nice swiming possibilities.
Was dissapointed with the room, since it was not as described on booking, different decoration as on pictures with also no view on lake/mountains/garden. Toilet desk was broken too.

You feel directly at home at this accommodation! We had a nice room with an en-suite bathroom. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. We also opted for the 3-course dinner option in the evening which was a very nice and a delicious experience and can only be recommended. We had an excellent chef cooking for us that explained in advance what we would get. It felt very intimate to have an exclusive dinner with other guests but at the same time, we could enjoy it in private at separate tables. We would have liked to stay here another night!

Amazing atmospherically place. Wonderful number with fairytale view: little white chapel on green-green lawn with sheep, fjord and waterfall.
Hotel with its own history and characters. Our number was decorated as a room of young lady since the middle of the last century.
Good breakfast and cozy lobby with old chimney with warmly flame.

Great position, wonderful view, good breakfast.
Over expensive, except the view is not worth the money. Very uncomfortable beds.
