I was intrigued by the pictures when I saw this place online. It fit our needs in terms of location and space very well, so we booked it. But we had no idea how cool this place is.
It's connected to the Highland Club, which occupies the grounds of an old estate on Loch Ness. And let's just say that the pictures don't do this place justice. Plan to spend an hour or so at some point during your stay to wonder around the building and the property. We did it early in the morning of the day that we departed. Just jaw dropping. This is a nice restaurant on the property that was pretty good and offered beautiful views of Loch Ness.
We had a part of seven and the apartment fit us perfectly. It's a gorgeous apartment and lots of fun to stay there. All in all, it was a magnificent experience and I wish we could have stayed there longer. Next time we will.

Loved the historic building

Overall, we truly enjoyed this property. Of the 4 we stayed in during our visit to Scotland, this was our favorite. The apartment is located in an impressive building on the grounds of the abbey. It is just wonderful! We ran a little late for check-in and they were very accommodating. It is located within a 2-3 minute walk to restaurants and a gas station where you can get lots of stuff you might need. Several stores were still closed because it was early season for them (4/29-5/1). The apartment was very comfortable overall. We loved the large kitchen table for playing games. However, we do not feel that the bed in the en-suite room is truly a king size as we have that at home, and this bed was much smaller. It also very much dipped in the middle, forming a "v" and should probably be replaced. We feel it should also be noted that the third bedroom is not enclosed fully; it is more like a loft in US descriptions. The shower was wonderful and we were able to do some laundry. We had a couple minor issues (like not knowing how to use a combined washer/dryer in Scotland) and someone was there to help within minutes. The pool was very enjoyable and we even checked out the Snooker room. We would recommend this place for sure. Lots of cute gift stores, good food and the best is The Boat House restaurant located right on the grounds. It was a great experience! We would stay again!

First let me start by saying the flat itself is such a unique experience. I loved the building, every detail of the architecture, the grounds, and the proximity to the Loch. It’s even close enough to town that you can cut through a path and get there in just a couple minutes.
Then the issues. Honestly it wasn't very clean. There was quite a bit of dust which normally I would overlook but the flat smelled like fried grease. We tried opening the windows to air it out but just couldn’t get the smell out. Then the washer/dryer didn’t work. This was a big trip for us so having washing facilities was extremely important. The host did respond quickly and had someone out to look but the issue couldn’t be resolved. The staff were kind enough to allow me to use the facility washer and dryer but everything came out of the wash with a “musky” odor. When I arrived to Loch Lomond I had to hunt down laundry service and pay around £20 to have everything rewashed.
We also couldn’t use the pool, sauna, or steam room. When we booked we were under the impression you could book after 5pm but when we got close to our check in we were told that they couldn’t guarantee a pool reservation after 5 and if they could it would cost £50. I don’t understand this as a lifeguard is not present.
I guess in the end if these are things that wouldn’t bother you then go for it. The building is truly amazing but I work very hard for the money I have so the cost of this flat wasn’t worth it.

The apartment was spacious for my family of 5 and the grounds were unbelievably beautiful and the town was charming. Loved walking along the water with my kids and playing chess in the inner courtyard.

Wonderful place to stay - beauty all around. Another family member had stayed here and recommended this place - so glad they did. We loved walking to the charming village and exploring the Highlands from this base. Our grandson particularly enjoyed playing chess with the life size pieces.

We had an unforgettable Holiday at Loch Ness. We enjoyed the old historian Abbey and the surrounding Area.
The apartment at the old school was very bright and open. We liked to sit in the living room and to look outside because the view was stunning.
We had a chance to observe the rabbits that were living on the grounds.
We had fun in the pool and the sauna. The booking system for the pool was easy to use. There is an activity for every one.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
We wished we stayed at the old school for longer!

Modern conversion of old Abbey. Really interesting building to explore, though sadly all shared facilities closed due to Covid. Place was well equipped. And local housekeeping team able to full in any gaps quickly. Mezzanine bedroom over the kitchen is a bit prone to lingering food smells but that is a fairly minor thing.

This tasteful and sensitive conversion of an old Abbey schoolhouse into a beautiful, well-equipped, comfortable and impressive holiday home is breathtaking. Modern convenience combines with gothic architectural splendour to create a unique ambience.
The views from the big arch windows are wonderful and the facilities are second to none. A warm welcome from the property managers and a guided tour of the superb facilities (luxury swimming pool in a converted chapel) made us feel at home right away. Will definitely come back.

What a wonderful stay! The rooms in the Abbey are so warm and comfortable. The whole surroundings are beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! You can spend a day just exploring the grounds! The Boathouse Restaurant was excellent!! Fine dining in a casual setting. Fort Augustus is a charming little town. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Highly reccommend if you have the chance.
