Wonderful stay in Durham , NH. Gorgeous country setting with access to Durham and Portsmouth . Great coffee and sundries at the Emery Farm Stand. David, the host, was gracious and helpful. We can’t wait to go back for another stay!

Stayed with 4 friends and enjoyed the beautiful home, incredible tub, and lovely market right at our fingertips. Scenery was gorgeous and enjoyed walking the trails across the street each morning.

We had a great stay at this property. It is very accurately described with photos on the VRBO site. It was convenient to Portsmouth and Durham. The house was comfortable for our family of 4 adults and 2 children. Very nicely appointed and equipped for our stay. The house has everything needed and more, The property is on a hill with nice views and walking distance to the Emery Farm Stand, a must go to. David was easy to communicate with and answer any of our questions. You cannot go wrong with this property if you are in the Portsmouth/Durham area.

We were three couples staying for the weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The property sits on a large farm that is fascinating to explore. The Market, within walking distance on the property, is a great place for coffee, and breakfast fare. The host is very gracious, and makes you feel very much at home. We hope to return again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! Everything was as described and our host, David, was delightful. The attention to detail exceeded our expectations - from the charming decor (love the crystals hanging in the kitchen windows!) to cozy blankets in the tv room to the thoughtfully provided toiletries. Our accommodations were top notch! Thank you, David!

My husband and I, both in our 80s, have mobility issues, and renting a place where all of the bedrooms were upstairs seemed impractical. But we were so glad we listened to our hearts and chose this place.
The entire property is beautiful and well-tended. The air is fresh and clean; the water tastes great right out of the tap. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching honey bees gathering pollen from the rhododendrons growing by the front porch.
This family has maximized the assets of their farm and created a heathful, environmentally sustainable operation. Solar panels dot the property, and there is a EV charging station at the house. The cafe on the property serves delicious breakfast sandwiches and sells products made in the area.
The host sent us detailed information about the property well in advance of our stay. He called us the day of our arrival to welcome us and ask if we needed anything. We knew he would help us any way he could.
Our party consisted of my husband and I and our two adult daughters. All of us loved being in the farmhouse.
And the stairs? There’s a good solid handrail, which all of us held onto, and we took the stairs one at a time. I’m so glad we did not let our fears from experiencing this farm. We had a wonderful stay.

The Emery Farmhouse was beautiful and completely updated. We enjoyed the short walk to the Emery farm stand where we were able to by grocery staples and delicious ready made sandwiches. David was an absolutely wonderful host.

Property manager, very hard to get a hold of considering he was out of state. But overall, housing was nice and provided all appliances our family of 6 needed.

We were a family of 6 (3 generations) staying the weekend for a wedding nearby. House was very comfortable and clean and was only a short 10 minute drive to the wedding venue. The market down the hill at the farm was a great spot for breakfast and coffee in the morning. House was well equipped - particularly the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location to visit our two kiddos who attend UNH. The house is an easy 5 minute drive to campus, and super close to Newmarket, Dover and Portsmouth. Plenty of activities and amazing food nearby. The farmhouse is in a beautiful and peaceful setting and the interior is thoughtfully and meticulously decorated. As an artist I especially loved the eclectic collection of art and handmade pottery. The kitchen had every amenity and although we didn’t cook during this trip would have had everything we needed. Three full baths is a lovely perk. Every one was spotless and heated floors in NH in February was a super nice touch. The beds were all really comfy and bedding and towels were soft and high quality. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and love into the property and the cleaning crew keeps this place impeccably clean. The owner David is super responsive and helpful and answered all of our questions very quickly. We can’t wait to stay here again during the warmer months to take advantage of the nearby outdoor activities. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

3 couples, lifelong friends wishing to make a weekend out of friend's son's wedding. The house was lovely, comfortable, and perfectly appointed anticipating every little need right down to numerous USB ports for charging phones. It was simply perfect. Thank you so much! David!

This is definitely a 5 star lodging. Impeccably remodeled old farmhouse with 3 lovely baths, laundry, kitchen anyone would envy, and comfortable mattresses. Tricky to find the driveway on the first pass, but, once we found it it was easy. Plenty of seating in the living room and handy mudroom for shoes. Watched the Turkeys stroll across the yard first morning and had breakfast at the Emery Farm just across the back yard and past the orchard. Loved the EV charger as one of the rentals in our group was a Tesla. We would definitely rent from David again.

The house is a beautiful updated old farmhouse next to an amazing local farm with a market where you could eat three meals a day. It’s a quick 15 minutes to Portsmouth and even though at the house you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, there’s everything g you need within a quick walk or drive.

David is an amazing host and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and the farm store is an added benefit. The house is about 20 mins from everything we wanted to do with our family in town, and when we just wanted to chill, the gardens and grassy areas were perfect for our kids to run around and play. We'd love to come back again. Thanks for sharing your space with us!

We had a wonderful time at the farm! The owner had great communication with me and check in was a breeze. The property was beautiful and walking down to the farm stand was a unique experience that resulted in delicious coffee and pastries. The house was well decorated and had updated appliances, making our stay feel homey and luxurious. We would all rebook in a heartbeat!

Our entire family loved this vacation. Staying in the Brown House at Emery Farm was an absolute joy! The house is immaculate and the property is stunningly beautiful. We enjoyed our daily walks to Emery Market to gather groceries, enjoy ice cream or coffee and sample apple cider donuts. We loved picking blueberries! There is nothing better than picking and eating fresh-from-the-vine berries - a real treat for our blueberry loving grandson! Quality family time was spent at Emery Farm. Our stay here was a wonderful summer treat!

We stayed a few days on the farm. Our second time there. We travel a fair amount and David is by far the BEST host we have had along the way. Welcoming and responsive. The space is beautiful. The farm is peaceful. We are grateful for the time.

The property was well described and photographed in the vrbo posting. We loved the three bedrooms and bathrooms this property afforded our family while exploring MA, NH and ME. We would love to return and stay here again! David was great to work with and was very responsive. Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Everything was top notch. My one comment to make the stay better is that the owner needs to have some book giving directions on how to operate some of his high tech equipment. Overall we loved our stay.

The Brown house was a warm, welcoming, clean VRBO with beautiful and eclectic decor. It is nestled above Emery farm, which was fun to visit for a hot cup of latte or to pick up a yummy treat. The radiant heat in the upstairs bathrooms was luxurious. The free-standing tub provided a nice respite from our busy days. David, the owner was very responsive to any questions or needs that arose. We cooked meals, played family games and took walks across the street at Wagon hill farm. It was the perfect venue for our family and we would absolutely consider this option again!

The Brown House is absolutely fantastic. Recently remodeled and very well equipped. Very cool location…short walk to the farm stand in the AM for tea and cider doughnuts. House has tons of character and is very comfortable…heated slate floors in the bathrooms was a treat. Good beds, bathrooms, and setup…we had 4 adults, but would be very comfortable for 6+. Looking forward to coming back in summer.

Our best vrbo experience, beautiful location and house, kitchen was perfect for making thanksgiving dinner , a few miles from UNH campus, hiking, beaches and a minute walk downhill to a great farm store. We loved our stay here.

The house was absolutely wonderful. We could not have asked for anything better and enjoyed our stay very much. The hosts were very helpful and you can tell they truly thought of every detail to make our stay easier. My family and I stayed with our toddler and it truly was the perfect place for us all. It is so nice being close to the farmstand and we made multiple visits there. Will be staying here next time we come back to visit family!

This farmhouse has been updated so beautifully and was the perfect place to stay for our family visit to Portsmouth. Being so close to Emery Farm is amazing. The kids had such fun walking down to get breakfast and ice cream! David was a wonderful host and was extremely helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The house is fabulous, remodeled with modern appliances, beautifully decorated and all the amenities we needed for our stay. It's an easy walk to the farm for coffee and breakfast, and the location is very close to UNH and Newmarket. We didn't get into Portsmouth however it would be an easy drive as well. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area!

Our family of 5 stayed at the Brown House for 5 nights, and we all couldn't have been happier with the house and all of the accommodations! The house has been lovingly updated to include all of the modern conveniences that make life a bit more comfortable while keeping the historic charm of the house intact. Not only is the house wonderful, but the market at Emery Farms is an absolute gem! Each morning we went to grab a coffee and a delicious breakfast of sandwiches & smoothies. We even got items for supper one night when we didn't feel like cooking or going out to dine. When we did venture out, Portsmouth was only 10 mins away and coastal Maine was a short 30 min drive. The house is in a fantastic location to take day trips (Boston & Fenway Park included!). Anytime I had a question, David was quick to respond with an answer (suggestions for a local grocery store, restaurants, etc). We would absolutely return to the Brown House for another visit in the future!

This property was as advertised and more. The location was absolutely ideal, and being on the farm with the farm stand, animals, and grounds was the icing on the cake. The house itself was in beautiful condition; the renovations and decor were spot-on. The amenities (pots, pans, silverware, appliances, EV charger, etc) were more than we expected to find in any property. We've stayed in many different properties in the past few years and this stay was absolutely perfect. The common spaces allowed for plenty of family time, and the private spaces were ideal retreats after a busy day. It was great to sit outside with a cup of coffee, enjoy the breeze, and watch all the activity at the farm.
The hosts were very communicative before our stay and the house was ready as promised at check-in time. This will be a lasting memory for our family.
