Absolutely loved my stay here. A very welcoming family environment by the countryside. Truly relaxing. There's a lot to do in Banlung so after busy days whether you're exploring waterfalls, trekking or elephant touring, it's great to come back here and relax. The home cooked meals are incredibly delicious and Sat is always around to help you with anything you may need. I booked three nights but ended up staying six! It's great money for value, I would definitely recommend this place!
If you decide to do a trekking tour Sat is your guy! But if he is not available he will guide you to another company. However, be aware that which ever tour you pick, it might be different to his tour. Therefore your experience will be under the company's responsibility, not his. Take this into consideration when leaving a review!

We spent a wonderful week with this family who were kind, welcoming and took very well care of us. The food was always delicious, the little girl was a clown to play with and both parents were smiling and generous people. We went on a 2 days trek with the owner and had an amazing time in the jungle, eating fresh caught fish and red ants, learning about local plant's uses and more generally about the Ratanakiri area and it's minorities. We will definitely be back sometime!
The matress in our bungalow was a little bit worn out so it wasn't the most comfortable but for the price we payed it was more than ok.

We enjoyed a lot our stay at Sart’s family homestay, actually we were coming back after several months away and the place is even more beautiful now than it was before !
A lot of new fruit trees, delicious homemade mushrooms, new cabins built and above all the feeling to be with family and experience the true khmer life.
Sart is doing everything possible to make you feel like home and he shares a lot about his culture, his knowledge of the region and his own life.
His wife is a great cook and his daughter is the most adorable child… He also arranges your trekking in the jungle and has different options to suit everyone’s situation.
It’s always a pleasure for us to come back, we trully feel like home here… Thank you so much my friend !

The stay with Sard and his family was amazing. There are really nice and generous. The bungalow are good price/quality traditional Khmer. They are simple but really clean. If you want to live a traditional experience with a family it is the best way. Morever if you want to do a trekking in the jungle the owner can be your guide. He knows a lot about nature. A really good experience for those who want adventure. He can pick up you at the bus station because the house is in the village.

Very nice place to stay and sooo cheap! Of course you do not have the confort of 5 stars hotel, but it is still quite nice! Saat (the owner) can discuss with you and let you discover his region. He can also do tuktuk driver and guide for an amazing Trekk in the jungle, as you will see nowhere else!
I highly recommand

this is a wonderful place! accommodation is in simple but delightful bungalows, each with own veranda and hammock (and bathroom). the host is incredibly friendly, helpful and organises trekking, I only wished we could have gone with him (he was away in the jungle when we arrived so had to organise with someone else). the bungalows are set in a peaceful location and the family have a mushroom farm which is also an interesting thing to see. A great place which I’d highly recommend! I’d come again for sure
the location is lovely but too far to walk into town; this is not a drawback, just something to be aware of. A tuktuk can be arranged easily

Staying at Sart’s homestay was a great moment of our trip, he is a really good person and has a beautiful family. They make you feel very welcome and they share their daily life with you, including great meals cooked by Sart’s wife, always delicious… The cabin is really comfortable, with space, WiFi and private bathroom, really worth the price you’re paying. The location is nice, quiet and you can easily get to the city center of Banlung. Mister Sart organizes trekking in the jungle, he has different options from 1 to 7 days. You also can rent a scooter for a fair price if you want to go swimming in the lake or waterfalls nearby.
We 100% recommend this homestay if you come to Ratanakiri region, we will be back…
Thank you my friend !

- in general friendly owner (but see negatives)
- great price for value
- comfortable mattress
- good food with the family for reasonable prices
- owner wanted to arrange jungle trekking but the morning of leaving there was no guide so we couldn't go. He tried to push us to do some different trekking with him
- after we booked the trekking with another company, he didn't want us to stay after our trek
- the owner seems to have a lot of anger against many people in town

The host is a lovely guy who is really pleased to have you stay and takes pride in showing you around his farm and explaining the mushroom growing process. his full day tuk tuk tour was fantastic (rubber plantation, zircon mine, minority village, waterfalls and lake) and was one of our favourite days in Cambodia, because of his enthusiasm and spirit. The family dinner we shared with other guests was such fun and the food the rest of the time was really good too. He also happily took one of us to the local market one day with him while he was visiting to help us buy some things from the pharmacy and some fruit. The bed was very comfy and the mosquito net was in excellent condition. You definitely won’t regret staying here!
Worth being aware that the Wi-Fi is only available via hot spot from the host’s phone while in the communal area and there is no hot water (yet!).

We stayed 2 nights in Sat's farmhouse because we wanted to do a jungle trek in Virachey national park. When we booked, we didn't expect how exeptional our journey would be.
On the homestay : if I could give a 11 score I would definitely do it. Wood bungalows are confortable with twin beds (good mattress, mosquito net, private bathroom). The shower water is cold but not too much and it's vivifying !. It's perfectly clean. So rooms are perfect, but it's nothing compared to the welcoming of Sat and her wife. Sat is a very good person, he will do everything he can to make your stay confortable. He speaks an impressive good english and wants to share everything he knows with you : mushroom culture (in his farm), fruit trees, Ratanakiri region, national park (Sat was a guide). With his wife, he prepares excellent typical Cambodian food from breakfast to thel dinner that you won't find in restaurant. You just feel good staying there and we didn't really want to leave the homestay... And everything is sold at a very honest price, money is not Sat's leitmotif. Generosity is the one.
On the trek : we stayed 3 days and 2 nights in the jungle. We will never forget. Everything is organised by Sat. We were five french tourists and were assisted by 1 guide speaking english from Wrong minority + 2 rangers from Kavet minority. They know the jungle by hearth and take care of everything (they are impressive). We walked through the jungle, swan into the river, ate bbq fish, vegetable from the jungle and even built a bamboo raft. We slept in US army hammock (very confortable, with a mosquito net). They prepared very good food in big quantities so despite the physical effort it was almost impossible to feel hungry !! It's a real adventure, not a tourist attraction.
We loved everything.

If you're tired of being on the beaten track, this is definitely the place to go: total immersion into the life of a very kind and welcoming Cambodian family. The bungalows, although quite basic, are very clean, comfortable, and extremely cheap. Beyond the guesthouse, the family will happily show you around their farm and tell you all about mushroom growing. Whether you are looking for a tuk-tuk tour around the region (which we did - it was great!) or a trek, they can easily organise! We recommend 100 %.

Sart is a great host! The bungalows at his homestay are very clean and spacious with private bathrooms and mosquito nets around the bed (incredible value for money). The farm is nice and there is also a restaurant, which is very convenient. The food is delicious, cheap and generous. Sart also did us a favour by renting us his motorbike for a day and taking us to the bus station when we left Banlung. He also offers treks in the area, but unfortunately we didn't do any with him as we had already booked elsewhere. (Maybe next time! We would have done it if we had known before).

such a beautiful place with spacious bungalows and sunny green garden. Mr Sat is an amazing host and went above and beyond to make us feel at home and give us knowledge about the local area and his very cool ongoing projects. would highly recommend to anyone! also very cute puppies to play with!

Sart is a very kind and attentive person, we really enjoyed the time with his family. He is really keen to share many things with us : new food, new experience, aspects of cambodian culture... And the accommodation (we were in a bungalow) is very nice and comfy. It is new and Sart is doing his best to make it a loving and peaceful place like planting trees and flowers. We also appreciate the 3 day trek we did with him and his friend in the jungle : it's rough but a good experience ! He also arranged many things for us : bus, scooter... Definitely a good place with good accommodation, good food, good host and good experience. Best experience in Cambodia !
Nothing ! Everything was great.

Peaceful and quite location with exaptational service in cheap prices. wooden Huts were spacious and clean, all around was green, ducks and chickens were roaming around. Because i am a vegetarian they provided me with the ingredients and allowed me use their kitchen to cook my own food. Evening with Sart's family and locals were full of life. I also did 3 night trek with Sart. waterfall location was beautiful, we also caught some fresh fishes. just superb.

Clean tiny wood house for a cheap price, peaceful environment in the farm house and most of all THE BEST HOST in all Cambodia, who brings you trekking and teach you all what he knows on the farm life, jungle life
