Place was a rat hole. Massive construction in progress, none of which was disclosed prior to my check in. The curtains in my room were torn and the heating unit for my room did not work (it was in the teens at night). Terrible experience, will never go back. But, on the bright side, the skiing at Mammoth was superb.

The whole place was under construction and looked haunted. There were tubs for catching water in the hallways with wet floor signs. The pool and hot tub were closed. Would not spend money on this until construction is completed. They did not disclose construction information until the day before the trip.

Stay was great - always my favorite to stay because of the Starbucks next door for a quick breakfast before the mountain. Hotel was great for my dogs too with well lit path outside for potty time. My only concern is that hotel’s cable was down and hot tub was closed my entire stay. Service didn’t offer any discount to make good. I’ll still stay here on future trips tho

Very old. Outdated hotel, and breakfast was terrible

It was a really nice hotel and the room was really nice, however, the place is currently under construction. So common spaces like lobby, parking lot, and (most importantly) po/spa were actively under construction. Was still a great place and we will definitely stay there again. Look forward to giving this place a 10/10 when the work is done. Room was huge and really nice.
One other small piece of feedback for the manager, there were a few interactions with the employees I thought were odd. The employees eat the breakfast each morning, which is totally fine, but twice the employees kinda pushed their way in front of guests and made us wait while they got their food. I don’t think that is right. Also, I got on the elevator, and one of the staff blocked the door with an item while they ran back to get some food from the room, to hold the elevator, while I was inside it waiting. Not great customer service at all. I’m specifically not identifying gender or type of employee to get someone in trouble, just a comment on service in general.

This website took my reservation and funds but the hotel was overbooked and I did not get a room. So, I had to drive all the way home. Additionally, rather than automatically refunding our money, there is a claims process Highly frustrating and absurdly inconvenient.

Had 2 rooms. Both on 4th floor. ONE was OK.
OTHER ONE..... Cracked tile in front of toilet. When you stand there the floor gives away. also in bedroom, one section of floor sank when you walked over it. Outside of hotel was being remodeled. We were not told when we reserved. The room with cracked tile in bathroom should not have been rented to anyone.

Very old condition.

The picture that are being used are not what I experienced at all. Also the building is completely under construction. Almost drove past it when I actually thought it was a building under construction. Front desk lack of attention. The elevator got stuck for to the point where we were pulling out our phones to call for help. Once it opened we entered into a hall way with kitchen trays carving dripping water. They use regular keys not a lock card for the room doors. With no top door room lock on the inside. With the condition of the hotel and then not to feel safe in a unfamiliar place was unsettling for my self and fiancé. Just was not the experience we wanted on our yearly mammoth trip for our anniversary.

The hotel is under renovation or best to say reconstruction. It should not be open till the construction and remodeling works are completed.

The hotel is under renovation. I thought when I pulled it that it was going to be demolished, but saw people enter the lobby. I booked the hotel because my experience at Shilo Klamath was incredible. I also booked the Shilo because I wanted to use the pool and hot tub, but it was closed because there was glass in the pool and the hot tub looked demolished. The hotel should not be open for guests at this point until the renovation is complete. My bed was crooked. Elevator doesn’t work very well and everything looks very old. Breakfast is pretty good and the room is a good size room.

It’s hard to give this better than an average rating because they are doing a major renovation. The hotel is dated and hopefully the improvements will give this an upgrade. The reasonable price includes an okay breakfast and it’s close to 395 if you’re just doing an overnight stay.

This hotel was horrible! It’s under renovation on the outside. Which apart from maybe a roof leak the inside was in desperate need of repair. The hallways to the rooms smelled and had buckets with caution tape and were collecting leaks from the ceiling. Our room looked clean but the carpet was torn at the doorway and the Formica was broken on the sink. The guest in the room above us was making so much noise we couldn’t sleep. We called the desk 3 times and the noise subsided about 12:30am. I am going to ask for a refund. This was by far the worst hotel experience ever. Also my husband is handicapped and because of the construction there was no handicap parking available when we came back to the hotel yesterday. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left after 1 horrible night. I really want my money back!

The beds were so comfortable. Place is going thru renovations. Over all good quality and breafats fir the price and location.

I was there for work and was working nights and needed to sleep during the day. The room was hot. There was construction so it was loud during the day. Also the curtains were sheer so it was too bright for quality sleep. It's frustrating to pay $800 for horrible quality sleep. I checked out a day early and got a different hotel.

What a complete mess, the outside of the hotel looked like a bomb went off. The room was disgusting, the shower broke, ac barely worked. This hotel looked like it came directly from Iraq!

The Shilo never posted on their website about their on-going construction, which became the least of an all issues.
Once we entered the room we noticed it was not cleaned properly as we found old food containers still in the microwave with mold, we inspected the towels that seemed cleaned but where dirty and had what appeared to be boogers on them. This was an unpleasant experience, just a heads up if you’re planning on staying here.

I was so disappointed, the property was under repair on the outside, the condition on the inside was smelly, run down, the hottub was out of service, the pool was in questionable condition. It looked nothing like the pics online. We chose to pay more to stay here and I couldn't have been more disappointed. I will probably not ever chose to stay at another Shilo.

I've stayed at nicer hotels for the same price. The property was just kind of old and starting to get run down (the elevator was a little iffy). The dining area was extremely small and I've had much better breakfasts elsewhere (though it wasn't terrible).

The property parking garage is totaly unsafe with very limited lighting, the rooms definitely need to be updated with new features. I will not recomend it.

There is some obvious refurbishing happening outside. The motel is unidentifiable. We drove by it a couple of times before we realized it was the correct location. The room itself was ok-ish. The hallway walking to our room had several basins will obviously old water (perhaps from ceiling dripping). The carpet was saturated in several areas. There was caution tape and clutter around inside and outside.
The continental breakfast was average/not bad. Basic stuff. This was the cheapest offer (aside from Motel 6) on Expedia. We chose Shilo because of the included breakfast. We will go back to paying a little more for places we have stayed in the past.
Location on Main St. is good.

The hotel is going thru major renovations but did not disclose that at the time I was making the reservation. The room has not be renovated since it first opened, the floor in the bathroom had cracked tiles, the room had indentations in the floor and the carpet looked like it had not be cleaned for years.

From outside, look very old and they are renovating. Not the best time to book this hotel. The inside, the room still outdated and they still use metal key for the room door, it’s outdated for me. If not careful, the key could be lost. Now a day, most of the hotel use key card for the room. The elevator is slow and hot. The pool area doesn’t look appealing to me. The hotel room is okay but carpet smells. The day I checked out, the maid knocked my door before time. Thats upset me. Things that I loved, they have microwave, big mirror, bath tub, very nice bed and refrigerator.

Spacious rooms , pet friendly, close to shopping.

Would have been nice to know they’re doing a big remodeling job to the hotel now.

The gentleman at the front desk were extremely friendly and polite. One of the front desk employees even greeted me by saying, “Good morning” Breakfast was freshly prepared and there were so many options to choose from. The facility was very well kept and tidy

The property is very close to lakes. There are grocery stores near. The property is clean. However, it needs remodeling. The mattress and pillows need to be replaced. Loved my Mammoth trip. Will go back again🙂

The hotel is really the best budget hotel. The deco is a little outdated, but it's quiet and everything works great. Definitely better than other motels. Will stay here again in the future.

Property is outdated. They should really update their photos too. I would never stay here again.

Run down hotel, tatty furnishings, almost comically busted up swimming pool area (tiles falling off wall, rusting metalwork, fenced off hot tub). Pretty awful breakfast in what looked like an old office room off lobby. Someone could make this place nice with a bit of investment of money and care, but currently seems last dollars are being squeezed out of the place before the reviews get so bad they can't operate. Feel bad for the team that work there.

halls dark, carpet worn and stained. room ok needs major overhaul.

We stayed one night at this hotel during our road trip. Parking facilities are good. The room was fine. The room where breakfast was served was a bit crowded but we all managed to get something to eat. The hotel was conveniently close to a grocery store.

Stayed on second floor and it had a stench in the hall ways. Hotel is very dated.

It's a ski hotel in off season. It served it's purpose.

I have stayed twice yearly for the past 3 years. I have noticed that the property is in decline.
1. There giant pot holes near the front entrance. You to be careful not to hit one or you might damage your car.
2. The hot tub was broken and no repairs were attempted during my 4 day stay
3. The person who checked me was very disinterested in being of assistance. I noticed him on his cell phone, hanging out in back. He had no people skills
4. The cable tv had the worst possible selections. Mostly reruns
5. The carpet is beat up
