Great location next to Lehel U-Bahn station. Very nice vibe, cool classic rooms. Convenient lounge area downstairs.

This is a nice quaint hotel within walking distance of Marienplatz, and a lovely 'huge' park that is also within walking distance where you can hike by the rivers...they even have surfers in the heart of Munich there!! Wow! The hotel is reasonably priced and the room was very nice, clean and quiet, breakfast is good, and the front desk staff is very helpful. I will come back.

The Hotel is in a quiest but very accesible area to the Old Town. The Train station Lehel is directly across the road and it's two stops or a 10-15 minute walk to MarienPlatz. We had to single rooms to the rear overlooking the garden and they were small but very quiet and entirely what we required. The staff are very friendly. All in all a very good experience. Would definately recommend staying here and in this aea.

Most wonderful stay and amazing staff. Friendly people, great service and gorgeous rooms. The only hotel I’ll consider in Munich when I go back.

Hotel was nicely situated but when it’s warm and you need to leave the windows open the street is very noisy due to the tram that runs most of the night and early morning. If you close the window then it is okay to be fair, but as the rooms have no air con that is not always an option. The hotel itself was nice but probably not to my own personal tastes. The lack of a room safe and tea and coffee facilities was an issue for me. Apart from one complimentary bottle of water on check in there replacements are not free and without a fridge in the room it’s not easy to have a nice cold drink unless you go to the bar. The room I had was a nice size though and apart from the minor issues I outlined above it was ok but on my next visit to Munich I may probably consider something more to my more “modern” tastes.

Really lovely old building. Super helpful reception staff. Terrific basement breakfast options (not cooked food but lovely fruits, cereals, cold meats, cheeses etc), about 50 metres away from an underground metro rail station, cafes and bars all round the area. Only a few stops away on the train from the main Munich rail station and centre of town and possibly a 10 min walk to the English Garden which is absolutely sensational (and vast!)

Lovely hotel and great location but cannot recommend the single room I stayed in. The bathroom was dismal. The website photos showing toiletries that are provided must be outdated as that’s not what was in the bathroom. In my room, the curtain liners had brownish stains on them and even the duvet cover had what looked like an old blood spot. There is no safe or fridge.

Unfortunately, this hotel was not what I expected. First, there is no a/c. I should have checked before booking. Second, the conditions were old and dated with very small quarters. I felt like the price was comparable to other hotels that seemed like they would be much nicer. We moved to the Munich City Hilton after staying one night.

Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and very comfortable room. This was a great base from which to explore Old Town and the parks on foot.

Is right on tram line. Ask for garden view side.
Lost a lot of sleep.
Also no air conditioning.

Wonderful quaint hotel in nice neighborhood central to all of Munich. The lobby and room were immaculate and the balcony off the room was an added benefit.

This is an older but overall pretty decent hotel. We were able to check in early at no extra cost. Room was comfortable and in proximity of our area of interest. One caveat is the air conditioning. Hotel is advertised as having ac but there is only a portable cooling unit that didn’t seem very efficient.

Old world elegance a short walk from most everything. More spacious rooms as opposed to the modern European hotel rooms where there is hardly room to open a suitcase. Delightful breakfast—not included, at least for us, but worth the cost.

We had an excellent stay here! The hotel is very conveniently located (5-8 min walk) to multiple forms of public transportation, but sits on a very quiet street. We opted for a garden-view room and would highly recommend this as it is quiet enough to leave the windows open to get a nice breeze (we went in mid-June) and the room stayed very comfortable. There’s also a small table fan for use. IMPORTANT: there is not A/C, but even staying on the top floor we did not find the room ever got uncomfortable.
The courtyard behind the property is nice. We didn’t end up having the breakfast, but it looked good. Will definitely return here our next journey to Munich!

I loved this hotel! I was in Munich for the weekend so just a two night stay. The hotel is beautiful and although the single rooms are small they have so much charm! I had a complimentary copy of Romeo and Juliet on my bed upon arrival. I had a little bookshelf and a balcony. Bed and pillows were comfy. Bathroom was a little on the small side but just one person no big deal. Staff was great and they have a little bar downstairs if you need a late night drink and they will charge to your room. Front desk went out of their way to send my laundry out on a Saturday (they normally do Mon-Fri same day service). It was very expensive for the laundry but it was a necessity.
All in all great stay and loved the character of this beautiful hotel - would stay again for sure!

Elegant beautiful hotel in crested from a mansion, is furnished with antiques but with modern bathrooms and exquisite bedding. My stay was completely comfortable and lovely.

This is a small hotel ranged over four floors with a library / bar next to reception. The style is classic: plain painted walls on which hang antique mirrors, lights, prints and oils. This extends to the bedrooms - ours had a French antique desk and carved chairs.
The service is understated and friendly. The highlight was the exceptional breakfast in the garden.

Great location in a quiet area within walking distance of main sights. Property is a little tired, bed was not comfortable. Staff was pleasant.

Classic European hotel in a great neighborhood away from the busy city center. Great dining options in a cute neighborhood. Close to subway and tram options. Large room with a small bathroom and tiny shower. Did not try the hotel breakfast but it was available for a fee. Was unseasonably warm when we arrived (80F) and the room was quite warm and stuffy. Couldn't get the aircon to work - I suspect it doesn't get turned on until summer? Only way to cool down room was to wait until evening and open the windows. Hopefully the aircon works in the summer.

Fantastic hotel located in a great part of Munich. Close to public transport including a subway station just across the road. The hotel itself is clean with attentive staff and a wonderful decor. Only negative I found was the breakfast is not worth the €18 price point. Would stay here again.

What a lovely, lovely hotel. The location is perfect. Close enough to Old town with shopping and museums, far enough away from the crowds. The neighbourhood has wonderful cafes and restaurants along with a little grocery store and fruit market that also sells very good salads if you want to take a lunch for the day. We did a day trip to Dachau and the underground station is just steps away. Staff are very kind, friendly and super helpful. I love how special this hotel feels along with the beautifully decorated rooms. This was a treat to stay here.

excellent location. walking distance to city centre. Close to the Isar river where one can run or walk along the river banks. Good coffee shops and bakeries close by.
Inconvenience..walk up to reception. Difficult if one cannot carry a suitcase because of surgery etc.

A lovely family run boutique hotel, well placed for exploring Munich. Breakfast is a little pricey (18€) for what is offered & we found it inconvenient not having kettles in the rooms, but other than that a highly recommended hotel.

Charming and well located, safe and short walk to town 20 min or by metro. Spotless clean, comfy beds, good heater in the room. All was perfect. Breakfast was good too. Friendly service from everyone in the staff. We stayed three nights and we enjoyed our sta. thank you

This was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed in during our honeymoon but that was because of the time of year- Oktoberfest! We’d stay here again because of the staff, access to transportation, cute neighborhood, breakfast and aesthetic.

What a lovely one night stay in a lovely walkable neighbourhood! The staff and service were wonderful. I love the old world charm and elegance.

I used to live in Munich and know it well, so Lehel was a no-brainier. A largely residential location, a short walk into the centre of town and to galleries and museums, quiet, safe, with a choice of nearby restaurants and bakeries/coffee shops, not to mention good public transport. The Splendid-Dollmann was everything that I wanted: a boutique hotel that was classy but not snooty, with friendly, professional staff, free wifi, a good-sized room that was spotlessly clean, with curtains as well as blinds to block out light, and a very good breakfast buffet in a relaxed atmosphere.
