The rooms were clean and charming. Just what you want in an historic hotel. It was a little bit difficult regulating the room temperature. And in the morning, the shower was warm enough to be OK, but not really hot. I would have appreciated hotter water on a cold November morning! The restaurant is a whole other story. My advice--Do not eat there! They were crowded and there was not enough staff to accomodate the diners on a Sunday holiday weekend morning. They should have done better. One of our party needed something prepared differently because of food allergies, and when her dish finally arrived the waitress shoved it in front of her with a loud bang. No apologies. I drink tea and it arrived as a thick coffee mug (tea drinkers will understand that we do not enjoy tea out of thick mugs) filled with hot water and a pathetic choice of teabags in a little dish. I finally found a teabag that was tolerable, and when I later requested more hot water, my boyfriend had to finally get up and get it for me. All in all, a miserable brunch. And we weren't the only ones who were unhappy!

Hotel has the best location in town, but room was small and the restaurant hours are very restricted. Morgan's tavern only open until 9PM Friday and Saturday and closed altogether on Sunday. For a hotel of it's size I would have expected to be able to get a beer at 10PM on a Friday night.

My girlfriend wanted the Gilmore girls experience and we sure got it. A great place to stay particularly when visiting my Alma mater

Nice place, very clean. friendly efficient staff.

The least friendliness of all the hotels I’ve stayed in during my holiday the last two weeks. Staff think they’re better than you.

delightful staff and old time charm. dinner in tavern was excellent. we had a room outside of main building. though older, was clean and comfortable. walkable to downtown. would highly recommend for a Middlebury stay

Cozy elegant lobby and restaurant. Room had a convenient layout and was inviting and tasteful. We loved staying at this classic inn.

Lovely historic Inn right in Town . Only has a service for staff which can be used for your luggage or at special request if climbing one or two floors is to much for you. Short walk to Supermarket or delightful CoOp which also offers coffee and food. Convenient parking lot and the Inn does have a restaurant but it is closed on Mondays.

Hotel was nice but no coffee in room. Also coffee available in lobby but only in morning. And no de-caf.

This is a return visit. The blanket is thin and not comfortable. The blanket smells and makes me feel itchy, feels like either dust n bug bites as I developed skin irritations both times in this hotel

For the price, amenities were lacking. But nice stay anyway.

A great stay! Beautiful property in a charming town.

Enjoyed stay. Room was spacious. Bathroom was very small and lacking in amenities. Again we enjoyed stay just one major drawback, the bathroom.

It’s a great hotel, I really enjoyed my stay! The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is very friendly!
However, note that the wifi doesn’t work that well in the rooms (one of the receptionist explained that because the walls are so thick the signal is weak), also there isn’t a desk in the room (I planned to have a Zoom meeting during the visit and it couldn’t happen, obviously…)

The Middlebury Inn is beautiful! Very well maintained. Spacious room, all modern amenities while preserving historic character. Wonderful common areas too. Very thoughtful and helpful staff. Perfect location for visiting town or school. Will stay again!

The Inn was as I expected it to be. Showing its age perhaps a bit and in need of some TLC but still quaint and unique.

Very nice 200 year old inn. Well worth the stay

Nice property but being so close to downtown it was very noisy… far to many transport trucks and good ok boys with modified mufflers!

The room had a strong moldy smell. Reception staff wasn’t empathetic or friendly. The restaurant bar was closed. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Nice but just seemed like a basic motel in the wing.
Nothing special. Did not seem like a bed and breakfast at all. The lobby was nice but not the wing we were in.

I Love all the history that is all around the hotel. Its old school amd nothing wrong with that. Everything was clean, tidy, the staff was friendly amd bonus their was a restaurant to eat at the hotel. You had to pay to eat breakfast which didn’t bother us and their was no refrigerator in the rooms, but that was not a deal breaker. The rooms were nice size amd thw bathrooms were SO BIG. If you want a great place to stay with a taste of history this is it.

Lovely historic inn, The room was spacious and beautiful Everett was the person on front desk. We checked in in the evening, even though he was very busy he took the time to make it personal welcome. Will definitely stay here again when we’re in Middlebury.

The only confusing part was in the parking lot. There were 2 lines, one yellow and one white, so you couldn't tell what lines to park in between plus the spots were a little narrow. This was down by the annex. Otherwise, everything was great. The room was spacious and clean. I would definitely stay there again.

The AC in our room isn’t working properly, and it’s extremely warm in our room. Hotter inside than out on a 88 degree day.

Lovely property right in beautiful downtown Middlebury. Staff were polite and knowledgeable. Restaurant was perfect for a quick bite. Loved it!

The room was large sized and overall ok. A bit dated. There was a pungent odor around the sink - guessing a pet may have peed there. The toilet was loose. The hotel has charm.

We'd stay here again, any time. Staff was wonderful, the area is a great way to see all of Middlebury on foot, and the room was exceptionally clean (and had great air conditioning).
