We paid for a premium room and got an interconnecting room. The guests next to us were intent of spending the night partying. We have no issue in that normally but with just a door between us we got no sleep but were educated in their love for pierced nipples and men with large appendages.

On our arrival there were problems with the room, but the hotel team went out of their way and gave us an alternative.
Overall we were very satisfied, except for the faulty lift to the car park. But otherwise always happy to return.

Room noisy due to mechanical issues in room next door. We spent half the night awake.

Very clean and friendly hotel with a coffee bar and a bar. Good breakfasts too. Great location. Traffic very noisy with window open but there is air con. Sunsets marvellous but balcony floors could do with a touch up.

The room was tired but the staff were brilliant! It was a pleasure having breakfast, with the staff happy, friendly and with time to engage.
A big thank you to the excellent receptionists who made everything right. Big shout out for Gosia who went well beyond the call of duty 👏👏👏

Great location and parking nearby. Room fine but hotel a real warren of corridors and the actual building and corridors are not really conducive with usual and expected Holiday Inn standard.

Everything is excellent. Only thing need to be improved is the parking space.

Had to change room because bi could hear the room next to TV and hear them talk. Moved me to another room but that was bad then sink was broken the bath had a ring in it like it hadn't been cleaned. The doors were being slammed at 2.30 in the morning. We was supposed to stay for two days but left the early because of the state of the room they only offered me a up grade after we said we was going to leave. They gave me a complimentary breakfast but my wife only had toast and what I was offered as a breakfast was inedible worst holiday inn I've ever stayed in they wouldn't even have me a refund

Hotel itself is lively and clean. Our room was very hot and air con not working. Mentioned to man on reception when we were going out and he said he would get it looked at. No one came to sort which left us unable to sleep well as too hot. I like the heat but this was uncomfortable which ruined our stay

We stayed for 2 nights in August. Had no hot water at all until half an hour before checkout and the aircon was broken for the first night. Wasn’t a pleasant stay.

Our phone alarm went off at 0510, for no reason, upon complaining was told, have a free coffee on us, with a smirk on the face of the receptionist. Bar had hardly any pumped drinks on the first night, asked for a soft drink got told not sure if it has been changed to go with a gin, was given a can of 7up and charged inflated price. Water dripping from the fan coil unit in the room, as the condensate pump clearly not working, so clothes got wet when walking underneath. Expensive place for what you get.......

When we arrived the lift from the car park to reception was out of order, so had to carry cases up flights of stairs. We were given a discount for parking which we accepted. Check in was easy and staff friendly and professional.
Upon enter room it was extremely hot and noticed that air on was off, in fact it was broken!!
Went to reception and advised accordingly. Reception apologised, but advised that there were no other rooms available, but would give 50% off our first nights stay and get us moved the following day. I assume the refund for the first nights stay will be refunded by Hotels.com!!?!!!
Got new room, but only had a double and a temporary fold-up bed, which was annoying as we had paid for a twin (two proper beds), at least air in was working thankfully.
All in all a pleasant stay, great staff but disappointed with the lift and air con issues.

The room was excellent, The staff friendly and very helpful. The location could not have been better, right on the sea front, an amazing view from the balcony of the room. Could not have asked for more.

Room was in real need of decoration, wallpaper peeling off the walls, loose cables running along the bottoms of the walls. Windows for the "side sea view" were full of misted up condensation so you couldn't see the view that I suspect we paid a bit more for. Shower was powerful but did not respond to any attempts to change temperature so was actually too hot to stand under. Not a good experience.

For the reason I needed the room it was perfect. Quite clean and secure.
My only issue was the key card. Very temperamental. But that is a very minor issue. Receptionist are polite and respectful.
Some water staining around the bathroom sink. Had a good stay. Very pleased with the booking.

We had such a lovely stay at this hotel, lovely room with lots of added extras in the room, a fan, iron & board, water, snacks and different herbal teas were a fab touch! Breakfast was nice and fresh/hot and plenty of variety. All staff were really friendly and a special shout out to Georgina who was working on the bar when we stayed, she’s a credit to the Holiday Inn team.

First if all I blame myself, I had a hotel provisionally sorted. Then on a whim I searched expedia and saw THI for a lower price with free breakfast and stupidly switched.
What was good
Very clean
The breakfast was indeed very good
What was bad
Everything else
Check in took over an hour, 3 queues and at first they could not find the booking. The room was probably the height of luxury in the 1960s. Sadly it would appear to not have been refurbished since then. The carpets were worn and stained, the paint pealing and one plug socket to charge a phone well away from the bed is annoying. None of the others worked.
The shower had no cold water, the air conditioning did not work. There was a risk of setting off the fire alarm if the bath door was not closed. The king size bed was actually two beds added together.
Reception - doors dont work, very few staff about, often impossible to get service. The starbucks is just a kiosk and never manned.
Now most of staff were great but not enough of them and clearly they have an issue with expedia. When i checked i was told no breakfast only for them to suddenly agree to it when i showed my booking on expedia. They then tried to charge me again when i checked out but again backed down when i showed the booking.
My advice, u can get better for the price elsewhere or as i wished i had done pay a bit more and get a better room elsewhere.

Fantastic customer service from all theoughout the stay. Clean and comfortable room with part sea view. Good parking and £15 per 24 hours but very dark. Great location for beach and town

Check in was great, friendly service, helpful and informative. The only issue was the lady got her days mixed up and told us breakfast would finish at 10:30 when in fact it was 10am so we had 10 mins which wasn’t great. Hotel facilities, location and cleanliness when all spot on. Our only complaint was the noise in the room coming from outside the window. It was a little windy, no storm just a little bit we could hear a whistling sound all night. There was also scaffolding opposite which contributed to the noise with sheeting flapping around. Was a shame as everything else was good

Having previously stayed at The King's hotel in Brighton, I was determined to have a better experience visiting Brighton so booked the Holiday Inn on the seafront. A MUCH better hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed with a dog, not sure if this decided the room we would be in but the stains on the walls could have been dealt with or patched up, it was really quite evident that a lot of spillages had occured on the walls! The shower was lovely, there was a fan in the room which was much appreciated as it was around 28 degrees. There is no climate control. One of the lifts broke down whilst there, also, there is a well known coffee bar on site but when we visited in the morning, there was no-one staffing it so we went elsewhere. The location is perfect, on the beach with the shops and Laines very close by. I'd stay here again as it's so convenient. The parking nearby though, be aware, its an absolute rip off (but that's Brighton for you) we stayed 2 nights and the parking was over £60! Be aware! Will come via public transport next time as Brighton is totally not driver friendly! Breakfast was available for £17 per person but it's Brighton, there's loads of places around for a decent breakfast at less than half that price. Overall, a very good stay at the hotel and I would stay there again for convenience.

The rooms were quite shabbly and worn with chipped paint work, rising damp through wallpaper and broken wardrobe doors. We had to change rooms and the second was not much better. Bathroom extract did not work and air conditioning was not functioning well.
The shower water peessure was average and shower leaked onto the floor.
The staff worked hard to keep everything going and were very helpful and pleasant, working under stressful conditions, dealing with multiple issues from many guests everyday. .

Revolving door for entry didnt work had to push the heavy door and glass on the door was v unclean. Room, carpet covered in dog hair and blk bits in bed. Long waits for tea to be served and in the evening at the bat (one person serving). Staff quoting different orices for same thing was odd. Hotel v tired and in need of updating. Sad because it has an enviable position opposite beach. Mainly, cost to stay does not reflect the accommodation on offer. A positive, breakfast was good, staff accomodating. Food is expensive if purchased in bar and again long wait. I wont b staying there again.

Probably the best stay I've had in Brighton (I go every year to a conference there in the summer). Underground parking, beachfront, sea views all good. Biggest strength was the staff though, they were all really nice.

Lovely place. Excellent customer service whether that be at reception, breakfast staff, or at the starbucks. All staff were friendly and the room was spotless. The whole family enjoyed the stay and the sea view from the room was stunning. Thank you Holiday Inn staff for everything.
1.0 / 5.0
The hotel is shabby, my mattress was disgusting, heavily stained. Bed pillows were lumpy, filling was falling apart and not fit for purpose. Outer pillows had remnants of human pubic hair! Stained carpet and lounge chair in my room. My sea view room windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years...sea view….what a joke! Looked out onto fire escape roof. Coffee in room was awful.
Was charged breakfast for two even though it was just myself staying in a double room. When questioned this with manager was told the breakfast rate could not be changed and maybe I would like to invite a friend to breakfast for the 5 days I was staying! What a joke!! I live in Essex! I was charged an extra £84.75 for the extra breakfast….Totally disgusting customer service.
Will not be returning!
