Stayed here as part of a pre wedding day stay. The staff were attentive and friendly and couldn’t do more! I would definitely stay here again. Had a nice spa with pool, sauna and treatments too. Wonderful surroundings too. I would highly recommend!

Very good. Food was fantastic

Fantastic room! Very clean and comfortable. I wish I had longer to stay here. I will certainly stay again.

Poor reception at Reception, also later in our stay.
Extremely noisy extractor fan. Radiator thermostat out of reach, under desk. Breakfast mug chipped all the way round the top. No reply when trying to reach Reception from the room telephone. Hospitality and warmth of personnel entirely lacking, except at dinner in the dining room, which we enjoyed.

Really helpful staff, clean, nice room and very good breakfast

I don't often review stays as I stay in so many, but this hotel is amazing. From the moment you drive up to the hotel (which is impressive), to the attentiveness of the staff. They also gave me a free upgrade, which was unexpected. Definitely be stopping here again. 10/10

It’s the first time we have stayed at the hotel and it was fantastic. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful and very polite. The rooms are beautiful and the hotel itself and the grounds are stunning. The food is very good and reasonably priced and the breakfast is a buffet style and there is plenty to choice from and all locally sourced. Also the spar and the swimming pool are a great added bonus, it is safe to say we will be staying here again in the near future.

Lovely hotel for a night away

The toilet leaked all over the floor in the night so at 1am I had to call reception for some towels to mop it up. I then couldn’t get back to sleep as the rooms are quite noisy and all I could hear was a drip all night. I was offered no compensation just a sorry and here is your bill! The last time we came as a business the whole ceiling nearly fell on my colleague and again he was offered nothing.

As my stay was only overnight there isn't a great deal to comment on.

Very comfortable, but my room was room and bathroom was very tired and was needing a refurb.

First room was too small and dingy. 2nd room was better but too noisy because of air con units outside the window. 3rd room was much better until we had a disturbed night's sleep due to the room above having a row at 1.30am. We moved again for our 2nd night to a suite which was fine. The staff throughout all of this were very good - Lois, Richard, and Charlotte
Breakfast on both mornings was very good. The hotel is stunning and in wonderful grounds.
3.0
The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast and dinner at this hotel were the best out of our whole stay. Excellent quality and choice. Service was good during dinner.
Unfortunately the rest of the stay left much to be desired. Check-in and customer service felt more like a conveyor belt. Mixed messages in terms of the service provided to customers. It felt like it depended on the receptionist whether you got your luggage taken to the room or any other service. Special occasions made no difference to staff when it came to service other than in the restaurant and I have a feeling that’s after complaining.
The rooms were ok. Not blown away by them. No proper instructions of services, phone numbers of how to get in touch with reception etc. it was all hidden by a qr code on a mirror which we had to find. Not sure what guests without knowing how these work get on with that. Safety is clearly not a priority.
Overall very underwhelming experience I am really gutted to say. I had high hopes.

On arrival the hotel looked the business, but at check-in there were a number of guests already complaining about services,
Once in room things went down hill, dead and alive flies in bathroom and whole room smelt a bit musty ,
Steam room was out of order and sanua was up a flight of stairs which was a bit slippery,
I did not book a breakfast on booking but when we arrived we were told if we booked breakfast there and then it would be £15 per person, but if we booked in tje morning it was £20 per person,
Rooms are not very sound proof either

Comfortable stay convenient for work location

Lovely pool area and gym ok.
Staff amazing (helped with a room move).
Big breakfast choice, cooked breakfast 4/5.
Rooms could do with some updating but can’t really complain at the price with all other features

Beautiful location and accommodation, and the great service you expect with de vere.

One night stay for a friends wedding in the area. The room was so far away from reception, they give you a map! I still got lost. Not ideal. Big impressive looking hotel but felt dark, gloomy and dated. Room itself was big and nicely appointed. Bed was comfy. Very expensive for what it was. I won’t be rushing back.

The building is very impressive and the grounds are beautiful.
However, I was expecting more amenities in the room, and a fridge. The decor was very dated in the room, and the furniture was somewhat worn. The beds were very comfortably and the bedding wonderful.

From my arrival to my departure the room and service were so disappointing.
Arriving in the rain, trying to get through the doors was a nightmare. There was nobody at reception. My room had no TV remote, no water, a duvet that didn’t fit the bed with small holes, overlooked a car park with no privacy blinds, a noisy bathroom fan, stained silverware in the bathroom, black marks around the bath, tap and mirror. Room service was going to be over an hour, and the bistro was too full to get a seat. A two night stay, I was locked out of my room on day two, walked back to reception where there was a long queue when I needed be getting ready for an evening event. The plus was the comfortable bed and the beautiful grounds.

Thanks for such an amazing weekend. We really enjoyed it from start to finish. From the warm welcome and comfy room to the stunning location and decor and delicious food.

Dirty bathroom - taps, door, floor behind door and bathmat. Reported to reception on first morning, but 2nd attempt only half-hearted, so we cleaned ourselves - last time we hadvto do this was manybyears ago at Pontins, not a 4 star hotel.
Noisy plumbing from next room's shower an effective early morning alarm.
Very unpleasant evening restaurant supervisor Emilia. Rest of restaurant staff were lovely.
All other staff very friendly and helpful, all smiling and greeting us whenever we passed by.
Reported everything to reception, who blamed most of the negatives on a high staff turnover - only 2 reasons for this (poor conditions, poor wages)
We spent our honeymoon at this hotel, returning for our 5th Anniversary. Such a shame that such a beautiful has gone downhill.

The endless narrow corridors are very offputting and a very long walk. Buitiful building but not homely.

Very busy qnd check in took half an hour due to a wedding...noisy corridors with drunk people looking for rooms at about 1.30am

Gym is tiny for such a big place. Super expensive. Room was nice but for the price it should be. Very Comfortable bed which is the most important I guess. TV reception dodgy,

I have used this hotel regularly over the last 9 years and have always really enjoyed staying.
Sadly, this stay was poor. The room was in need of an update. The bathroom was quite dirty, the sink plug was left stuck in (I freed it with a teaspoon!) the shower control was so stiff it struggled to move, if an older/arthritic guest had used it they wouldnt have been able to turn it on. It looked warn out along with a very dirty looking rubber bath anti slip mat-I took my chances without using it!
The room was basic and very hot with no a/c. There was a lot of guest noise with a wedding taking place. I had a very disturbed night. The tv was ancient and numerous Freeview channel’s were unavailable. It had no ‘smart’ functionality and therefore the ability to stream or even use BBC I player etc was not available. It was like a stay from the 80’s or early 90’s, it just need the Corby trouser press and teas made to complete the look!
The restaurant had had a flood and as such was shut on my arrival. I ordered food at the Atrium bar which was ok. No one checked of if the meal was ok or if I’d like more drinks/food. I went back to the bar to order my own.
Upon checkout I was not asked how my stay was, I then flagged up some of the issues with my room and was given a simple sorry without any offer of further investigation/ remedy. It was a disappointing end to a disappointing stay, the service I have had and the rooms I have stayed in before have previously been very good.

At 75 I have good vision, but like all people over the age of 60, need more light to see printed text such as menus clearly. This is because the interior lighting in many venues is designed by young people. The low light around the reception desk meant that I had to sign the registration form without being able to read it.

All public areas, food and location excellent. First room allocated had not been prepared. Second room had mould in bathroom, rusty towel rail , soft bed. Later found mattress smelt musty. Room good size but very dark.

We stayed for an extended weekend, and everything was perfect, from venue, rooms facilities to service … we stayed with our Dog and all the staff specially charlotte at the reception were extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly … No negative feedback at all … we ate in the Atrium Bar, the food, ambience and service was par- excellence. The garden around the hotel was beautiful and very peaceful. There is more than enough parking, will definitely be staying there again

We had a fantastic stay! The staff on reception were very polite and helpful and the rooms were very spacious and clean.
only downside was the bathroom was very dated which came with some rust and damaged areas of the bath/shower, this could be updated. Nevertheless its a stunning venue and facilities are class.

Nice Stately home with gardens well looked after. There was a blockage in the bath whereby waste water as not draning. When it was reported, it took less that 10 minutes for a plumder to arrive and unplug it.
Dislike:The regulator for the shower was almost impossible. With very minimal movement, the shower was either too hot or completely cold. On both ocassions that I did shower it took more that 10 minutes each time to get it right on both ocassions.
