Excellent stay, our junior suite was spacious, nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The parking was difficult to find but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of our suite - very unusual in Europe. We got a lot of space for our money. There were a few details that needed attending to, such as not quite enough light when the drapes were drawn, and old chairs that were uncomfortable (but there were a couple that were comfortable), but it was possible to block out early morning light, and this is an important feature when you want to sleep in. The bed was huge and comfortable. My husband used the sofa bed in the sitting room, and it did not quite work, but it was comfortable when he put the mattress on the floor! Do not be put off by whatever construction is slowly happening in the foyer, and the resulting peculiar approach to the lift. This looks as if it is temporary. While the Grand may not have on overall luxurious atmosphere as it likely had in its early years, it WAS very good value. We used the train a lot to go up and down the Loire Valley, and the location was excellent for that. The area around the station felt safe, so no need to be put off by the proximity to the station.

We love a hotel with some history and charm. It’s a stone’s throw from the train station. After an overnight flight , followed by train travel, the location was a blessing ! We had a warm welcome and we were pleased with an unexpected upgrade for our room. Dining and shopping are close by. The bed was very comfortable. A great value !

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful and convenient location near many restaurants and the train station. Would definitely choose to stay here again.

Although there was a lot of renovation work being carried out at the hotel, it was clean, the staff helpful, the bedroom and bathroom spacious providing a comfortable bed and lots of hot water in freezing weather.

The property is centrally located near the old Tour train station and has some charm but it is dowdy looking and the staff for the most part were not very hospitable.

This hotel is very tired in desperate need of a renovation and overhaul. Not sure how it has managed to keep 4 stars.

Very nice property and centrally located. The staff were helpful and polite. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a 1- or 2-star hotel at best. The conditions of the hotel were awful. Our rooms were not ready when we arrived to check in and the rooms had not been cleaned in years. There were layers of dust on everything, everywhere. The front desk lady told me she would be cancelling my reservation, but I have yet to receive the credit. Please stop lying to consumers about this hotel.

Staffs were kind
But the WiFi is a bit slow and weak

I thought the room was great. Good bed and pillows. Air con perfect. Bathroom immaculate. Reception staff spoke English and were very helpful. Breakfast ok could have been better. Hot food ran out

The large suite in photos appears to have a division between master and children bed. Not the case. Although the room does have air conditioning the mini split is not large enough to actually cool the room. It can only maintain.

We stayed 3 nights here as a base to visit the chateaux in Loire Valley, very convenient to parking, and walking distance to the Old Town.
We changed room as the first one given to us had a very tiny toilet with no sink. That’s pretty normal in France but since the shower was on the other part of the room, it felt a bit strange.
However, the second room was much better and quieter too. It’s also more modern and brighter.
Good choice of breakfast and friendly staff.

Hotel was so so.... one Male reception helping us with taxi cheated us with his friend asking for a fare 5 times than a metered taxi did! Rooms are bit grubby and sheets were dirty... but location is unbeatable
2.0
Old fashioned hotel right in the center of town right opposite main train station. We had upgraded ourselves to premium and room was large. The only chair was however too low and useless. Good sound insulated windows.
No own garage but parking is available under the main square in front of hotel at special rate of 8€ per 24 hrs.
Breakfast room slightly too small for the number of people eating and service was lacking a bit specially on the Sunday.
1.5
Excellent location to the train station and tourist information office.

The hotel presents itself as a 4-star when it’s truly a 3-star. The wifi didn’t work in our room. The pillows were awful. On the positive side, the bathroom appeared to be recently renovated, but the decor of the room was very outdated.

Very very old hotel, very deferentially than the pictures you presented this hotel, the drainage in the shower and sink was blocked , not pleasant at all, the staff was very welcoming and polite.

The young staff at the front desk is nice and helpful though she cannot speak English fluently, but still try to help us find the parking area. The hotel is located in the central of the city and close to restaurants, shops. However the room carpet smell as theres a lot of leakage along the perimeter of the toilet that make the carpet stained and messy. Hope the management do proper refurbishment and improve the cleanliness.

This was our first stop on our vacation, having flown into Paris and then transferring by the TGV to Tours. We decided to visit this town due to it's location among the chateaux and wineries of the Loire. Tired from the travel, it felt so good to see the hotel from the train terminal. A short walk and we were in, able to catch a quick nap and later a shower before going out to tour Tours.
The staff quickly checked us in and explained the amenities of the hotel, and she was so friendly and smiling you couldn't help but feel welcome. The hotel is dated, with an old elevator and worn carpets. But it is clean and trustworthy. They do allow pets, and we loved it when one the dogs was waiting with it's tail wagging at the top of the stairs. We heard no barking or other disturbances while we were there.
The clerk gave us a city map and diagrammed a walking tour, circling her favorite spots. The parts of Tours we visited were close, and we enjoyed the cathedral and the town square. The next day we had a full day booked excursion, which departed from the Tourist Office located across the square from the hotel, another plus.
The breakfast was buffet-style in a bright room and left us more than satisfied for the day. And we were able to drink a glass of wine after our day in the bar on site.
If we return to Tours we would stay here without hesitation.
