Absolutely loved our stay. Breakfast was amazing and the hotel itself is just gorgeous. Can’t wait to return

It’s a great property, but it’s very expensive; yet the quality of service at the reception offered is poor that I would have given a 1 star, but since some of staff members work harder than others, I’ll not. We needed the biggest suite for 7 which was unexpected, as only 5 of us were supposed to stay there. But all their so called big suites were actually not big enough… it took forever to get us checked in and we still didn’t have enough soap, towels and kitchen cookware. And a broken dryer … why check us in a room that was not inspected? Everything that’s requested takes 3-4 times the effort to obtain it. The massage I got was overrated and expensive, but the sauna was dreamy. It felt like a movie set. Despite the distress, they did approve our late check out which was nice. We got free drinks while waiting to check in and bar staff was very nice and professional. We did have a good time, but it could have been a little cheaper and maybe a free meal for all the distress?

It’s a great property, but it’s very expensive; yet the quality of service offered is very poor. Everything that’s requested takes twice the effort to obtain it. They however did approve our late check out which was nice. We did have a good time, but it could have been a little cheaper.

Very clean. The pool was great. And the staff very hands on.

Great hotel and service however my room was not ready until 4:30pm instead of 3pm check in. I was surprised that nothing was offered as gwg such as complimentary drinks etc. I had to argue the next day to give me a late check out when this should have been offered without even asking.

Wonderful hotel and facilities

Second time here. Quality is still best on the island by far. From A to Z can’t find a single thing that would need to change. Hope to visit again soon.

Absolutely stunning hotel. Just stayed for one night but would definitely visit again. Service and staff were wonderful.

Nice place very isolated

Reception and fine dining amazing! No fans for outdoor eating though and too hot to sit outside! Likewise in the Japanese gazibo restaurant. Why no fans?
Had to move bedrooms twice. This hotel has lots of interconnecting rooms and noise insulation is so poor you can hear everything in neighbouring rooms. Very poor.
Attention to detail not there - inexperienced staff.
Spar is FABULOUS!!! Pools are beautiful. However, be prepared for noisy kids - which is fine as long as you are not looking for a quiet poolside experience. Staff didn’t enforces kids exclusion from adults pool. Fine as long as you are aware. We love kids but sometimes want quite adult space

Hotel was very clean, frendly staff and amazing facilities... keep it up !

The rooms are dated, but spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are 3 pools to chose from and the adult pool is fully serviced.

We love the Kempinski and though we did not get the room upgrade we had asked for the stay was perfect. We hosted a dinner for 15 and they could not have been more accommodating, professional and excellent. The service was outstanding from beginning to end.

The landscaping and room sizes and layout are a positive aspect.
Otherwise totally unremarkable hotel which can only be rated as 4-star max. They also seemed to have issues with staffing. Most staff were very young and inexperienced. Even the reception staff, usually one of the main customer touchpoints, were too young and inexperienced and seemed to not take much interest in the guests.

We loved our stay at the Kempinski. We generally prefer to have an apartment so we have enough space for us and the kids but with a country view suite we had a huge room. Basically a large one bed apartment without a kitchen. The whole place just felt calm and peaceful. Staff were super polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast amazing. We really liked the village of Gharb, v authentic didn’t feel touristy but had a handful of decent restaurants within walking distance. It was a great base for exploring and we enjoyed lots of pool time too at the beautifully landscaped family pool. On an island like Gozo where you only really have Ramla Bay as a beach where you can spend the day the pool was really important. We visited other swimming spots for a dip and although attractive they weren’t places where we wanted to spend more than an hour or so. Highly recommend and will be aiming to stay in more Kempinskis in the future

Lovely hotel well positioned to visit all the attractions. On the whole the service from the staff was impeccable. However went to dinner in the bistro and the service was not good. Left waiting far too long to be seated. Asked if we wanted water and then no water appeared, we had to ask again. Offered no dessert or coffee after our meal again had to ask. Although these are only small things I expect a certain standard from a 5 star hotel which is why I stay in them. We however went to a different restaurant at the hotel the next evening and the service was faultless. Just need to up their game in the bistro.

Complete lack of customer service. NO upgrade or any recognition of VIP status. NO help getting kayak excision after advertising it on the brochure they sent me. I ended up contacting our hotel in Mdina for help and they booked it for us. Arrival paperwork says pool opens early but take note NO towel service roll 10am. If you want to eat on sight you must book well in advance of your arrival or no seating available. When wanting coffee in the am, only available at sit down breakfast restaurant. Then I asked about delivering from room service to pool. Lady in Red said is course just call them. I did only to be told I was wrong and that no they didn’t. Then I contacted lady in red again and total confusion. Then a man showed up by the pool and awkwardly took coffee order then charged to room. Horrible experience at a 5 star resort. Recommend finding another if possible.

This hotel is great, the service is top class and the food is fantastic. However, there are a couple of negative items worth raising as well.
1 -
We booked a family suite which was sold as sleeping 4 people, but on arrival it was just a normal double room with two extra pullout beds next to the sofa. But on the payment details it clearly shows they charged one 'extra guest' fee of nearly 100 EUR.
As I booked a family room for four people, why am I paying an extra guest fee, it makes no sense. Especially given the fact that the room was a standard double anyway. The hotel is very expensive as it is, but this extra person fee wrapped up into a double room feels like a scam and completely unjustified when you don't even get proper beds, let alone the fact it's a double suite, not a family one.
2 -
There is a kids club for young children, but there doesn't seem to be anything for slightly older kids (10-16), a games room for example would be a great addition, table tennis, table football, etc.

We love it here, it’s our second visit - a lovely bit of 5 Star Luxury in the sunshine!
This time we stayed in a 1 bed appartment, the room was quiet, spacious and clean. Only grumble is the pillows which are too thin - no sign of the much vaunted pillow menu.
Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Handy that it runs till 11am so plenty of time to get a swim in first!
Choice of 3 pools, all excellent.
Look forward to our next visit!!

We had a fantastic couple of days this is a gorgeous hotel with amazing grounds. Our only complaints was that for some reason the noise by our room carried alot and there was banging and what sounded like furniture being moved all night

A truly fantastic experience. Lovely pool and spa facilities and exception customer service. Breakfast was a real highlight of the day, and the staff were excellent at accommodating my dietary needs as a celiac (try the french toast!). There is a daily shuttle, and the hotel is very close to bus stops, which are an inexpensive and easy way to get to almost anywhere you'd want to go in the island. We split our time between lounging at the lovely hotel pool & exploring Gozo and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or Gozo to anyone in the future.

We were completely “wow-ed” by our stay here. Stunning facilities. Great suggestions and friendly staff. The restaurant was stellar! The only negative was when our 25 year old daughter went to the desk late in the evening to get the layout of the facilities/campus, so she and her husband could plan their morning activities. She was told that there was no map of the hotel grounds but she could Google it. We had already received the layout, but my husband and I had it in our room, and she didn’t want to disturb us. It was a very obvious “clueless” moment on the part of the staff member that night.

They take the time to make those little extra touches, the detail and effort made does not go unnoticed. The rooms are big and spacious. The staff are amazing and so accommodating, their ultimate goal is to maximise your experience in staying at Kempinski. The house keeping service are just beautiful . I went with a 3 year old and I would definitely be returning in the future

Excellent hotel. Rooms are immaculate- the cleanest I’ve ever seen! The staff offered the highest standard of service and they even helped us book our ferry to mainland Gozo. The fine dining restaurant l’ istoja (spelling might not be right) was incredible! - A very special experience from start to finish! We will be back.

No vip perk. Not even acknowledged even when email provided. It was the only reason I booked.

Outstanding facilities, including excellent Spa, friendly and helpful staff. Only criticism is some restaurant staff were inexperienced and could do with more training. Great position for accessing this beautiful island

A lovely hotel in good condition. Decent sized rooms and bathrooms. Lovely “feel” to it. Staff attentive although maybe a little too much for my comfort.
Breakfast is very good with a good selection and quality and worth paying for.
Spa looked nice, indoor pool was available and the gym well enough equipped.
Three nice pools BUT the main one is adult only which is not immediately apparent on the website, bizarrely children have to be over 13yrs to use it. The other two pools are shallow and no floats or ball games are allowed in ANY of the pools and this was enforced although a gentle throwing of a small ball was eventually permitted. The obvious childrens pool was very shallow and used by little little children so it left a bit of a gap for the say, 10-16 yrs plus those of us adults that still like to have a play in the pool as there was a distinct disapproval of too much fun being had.
Needs to stop using small single use plastic water bottles although the generous supply of water was appreciated.
Needs to decide whether is truly a family hotel.
