The staff sent me a text a couple of times before check-in to confirm our reservation and offered assistance if needed. I actually had a question about checking in later than normal and they responded very quickly. The room was clean and quiet. The thermostat was easy to control and worked quickly when we needed a temperature change. The brewpub on the first level has some good beers and food to match. The hotel is also easy walking distance to lots of other restaurants and shops.

Beautiful remodel. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly.

The room was beautifully updated and had great windows to the outside. Everything in the room from furniture to linens was thoughtfully placed and made for a cozy winter getaway. The only things I would point out is because it's an old budling the water pressure is low and takes awhile for the hot water to get to the shower. I was also surprised the hotel didn't have recycling readily available.

This place was amazing!! Beautiful, warm, friendly, nostalgic! My family and I loved it here! The restaurant and coffee shop connected was convenient and great!! Lobby area, beautifully decorated, had a fire place, games and comfy chairs and couches! Rooms were lovely and comfortable! Historic hallways and glass mosaics!! And gorgeous chandeliers!!! We just loved this atmosphere and the hospitality was great! Definitely would stay again!!

I stay at the hotel quite a bit and when I checked in and checked out the room I was assigned I was disappointed because there was only a view of a wall and a parking lot full of contraction equipment etc. I asked Journey if we could get a room with somewhat of a view and she hooked us up with a room with a much better view which made for an amazing experience. Journey is the bomb and should get a HUGE raise! She made all the difference with her world class service!!

Great central location- close to train station and restaurants. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to Iron Mountain Hot Springs on an easy trail.

This hotel was great! It is very eclectic. It has a nice coffee shop, restaurant and bar. There is plenty of dining and shopping within walking distance. Hot Spring pool is just across the pedestrian bridge. LOVE IT!

Amazing stay, the beds are comfy and the rooms are big enough to unwind and not feel overcrowded. My wife and I came out to Glenwood Springs with our 2 dogs and had an amazing time.
The hotel is located in the best part of town, everything is walkable, and the staff is/was amazing. Do yourself a favor and stay here, you won’t regret it.

Disappointed with our first and last visit to this property. The price/value was not there. Front desk staff were simply ho hum. There’s no parking at the front of the property and no doorman/bellmen to assist with unloading and checking in… you get to pay $20/ night for off property parking that you have to drive around to even find. I had reserved two rooms at $239 each +++. The TV in our room did not work and the very limited staff could not find the solution and the other room didn’t even have a shower curtain and there were none to be found so a room change was necessary. Don’t ask for help with a tooth brush since they don’t provide any “extra” amenities should you need it… no body wash, no shampoo, no crème rinse and no body lotion. A small crappy bar of soap is it. To use the stupid lobby restroom you have to go to the front desk to get a damn code to enter into the key pad. Lots of drop ceiling tiles that evoke cheapness. They need new management and add another layer of support staff to study the big picture for a satisfactory guest experience… at this rate they likely won’t be in business next year. Lots of potential with the age/history in a cool town but otherwise meh.

What a fantastic hotel. Just loved everything about it. The decor is on point, wish I could take the room art home. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. They directed us to the burial site of Doc Holliday (about a 1.5-2 miles round trip), gave us discounted tickets and encouraged us to go to the Glenwood Hot Springs. I've been to Glenwood several times, but never made it to hot spring. Glad we did it, next time we'll try the other iron hot springs (or something like that-more money with a 21+ area), but glad we made it to the GWHS this time. You've got to experience it if you are in town. Front staff also directed us toe the main strip area with lots of restaurants to choose from (we ate at riviera and it was fantastic) and shopping spots. It was a last minute stay for us and we are very glad we opted to stop in Glenwood Springs.
Rooms are great. I heard they were recently remodeled??? Love the artwork. We had windows that wouldn't open :(, but great natural light. We really loved everything about our stay.

Room was small for the price!

Decent place. Nice staff. Clean historic building which i liked. Thats where the positives end. You get free parking in the same lot for buying a cheeseburger next door but 700 worth of hotel gets you 20 a night parking. Pretty sure its the only property in the city sith fee parking.
It was also incredibly difficult to sleep in the room. The bed is comfortable but they have retrofitted a historic building with modern climate control with very little planning. The hydronics are all exposed so the contstant sound of water running never stops. The blower is also located near the room so everytime it turns on your room shakes. The lack of modern insulation means the blower kicks on every 5 minutes or so.
If you want a quiet king suite id go elsewhere. If you think it would be fun to sleep next to your running furnace thisnmay be the place for you

Nice clean hotel. Updated finishes. Have one star off because we were not in the main hotel, thought maybe because we had a dog but then I saw a man with two dogs go up into the hotel. Check in and out was very easy. Hotel location is in town so was able to walk back and forth- super convenient

Pay $20 per night for uncovered parking or you can park on the street wich there was no street parking. Had to let the water run for 20 minutes to get hot water for shave and shower in the morning. No complementary breakfast. For the money had to be the worst deal. Next time I will stay somewhere else even if I have to pay more.
Severely overpriced for what I received.

Beautifully preserved old hotel right in downtown Glenwood Springs.

The rooms need a good deep clean. Overall you can’t beat the location and ambiance.
10.0 / 10.0
Check in took over an hour for the room to be ready- even after arriving at check in time. Also- the city was turning the water off the next day for 7 hours. The hotel should have sent a message out instead of letting us know at check in

Hotel Maxwell changed names from the time we booked to the time our stay began. It may be that the rules changed, too except no one told us. They gave away our room to someone else, put us in a lesser quality room and then blamed it on us booking through Expedia. They changed the check in and check out times from our original reservation. Prices were VERY high for the quality of room and service received. Don't stay here. Choose another hotel.

Lobby arts was great with all the pictures. As a professional picture framer I was impressed with the decor. But was disappointed by the quality and quantity of the arts in rooms and corridors . Quality on framing mater were below standard/awarage. More arts collages would reflect the lobu to rooms

This hotel was completely remodeled , both rooms and lobby, this past year. It has kept its historic charm while providing all modern accommodations. Rooms are on the smaller side but plenty adequate and nicely decorated. This is basically the only hotel located in the historic side of Glenwood Springs. Wonderful restaurant attached and walking distance to all other bars/restaurants and shops. Self parking offered for a fee in either of two lots a block away. Easy in and out. If we come back to the area, we would absolutely stay here again.

Cool and clean hotel right in the center of great shopping and dining. We had a great stay and will be back again!

We stayed in the newer section and it was nicely decorated. But I only gave it three stars for cleanliness because the hallways reeked like used cat litter. It was overwhelming and smelled throughout the entire hallway. Our room, however, was fine. It is a great location and having the brewery in the lobby is really convenient. Both the beer and food were good. Didn’t care for the $20 parking fee to park a car outdoors and offsite.

The accommodations and desk staff were excellent.
