I reserved this hotel for the location. I will say the walk after dark was a bit sketchy, but the photos looked good.
The buildings outside looked very nice and I was greeted Greekly. Paid for my room and she then noticed I had a dog. I travel with a service dog. I was charged extra for that, handed my key and AC controller.
The room was unique along with the common areas. It was small and needed some upkeep. Bed was Okay and the AC worked. There was WiFi that was good and the shower, unusual as it was, had good hot water.
It has a tiny lift and a lot of common areas. Neighborhood is more industrial, with homeless people and a lot of graffiti. For one night by the train station, it works. There are much better options close to attractions for the same or less money.

Excellent price and location and very accommodating with my late arrival and allowed me to check out a few hours later. Great rooms and very clean. Would visit again.

I’ll start by naming the positive things: two of the personnel spoke English. The room had a balcony, and the TV worked well (it was during the Olympics so even if all the programs had Greek commentators, it was possible to watch).
The negative things: We had paid a rather high price for breakfast but it was very poor. No vegetables, sometimes no egg, only white toast bread. One morning we had to call on the personnel since there wasn’t any bread and cheese. She was also very rude. A couple of days they served old fruit and other days, no fruit at all.
One of the personnel was very kind and spoke good English. She also let us stay one more hour.
We don’t recommend this hotel.

Do not book here. Rooms advertised are not, and I repeat, are not what you will get at your arrival. This booking has been a living hell. I was given a horrible room at the first floor on the pretense “we are fully booked “ . The room was untidy, bedding smelled badly of uncleaned sheets. Mould on the walls lack of shower handle hence I should have washed using the tap. The breakfast room served on the third floor is not a room but a roof covered with a make-shift something which leave it open to the outside scorching heat and clearly without air conditioning I tried an egg but it was rotten by the heat. I had to physically go around hotels to find a new one as I couldn’t stay there in these conditions. That say it is appalling that Expedia advertises such a place. I used Expedia wrongly thinking these kind of tourists’ trap weren’t allowed on the site. To this date I haven’t received any reimbursement and no help at all by Expedia ( except for a kind operator’s voiced support on how he was sorry but couldn’t do more than a 20€ gift bonus). I felt left alone by Expedia as the reservation was done through the site

I sleep there one night (because at night I didn't have where else to go) and then I preffered to look for another place. The man who did my check in was asking me a lot of personal questions and told me really unappropiate things. The room was really bad, it smelled a lot as cigarrate and moisure which you can see in the walls, there where cockroaches, and at night I can listen little paws walking in the walls or roof, the room had a window that went directly to the street and the window didn't had a lock, it seems that someone tried to get in and it was open, and the iron rods were so big that any person can pass throw it. The sheets and towels were dirty and with holes.

I paid through hotel.com and get a receipt and supposed to pay 0.50 cent at the priority
I arrived from the airport at 11:50 PM and the hotel said that they cant get my payment so i have to pay again the whole amount or i have to leave
I alao paid extar for the breakfast and i get cold coffee that is not drinkable and old food that is not eatable
I have stayed in about 100 different hotels the last few years and this was the worst of all time

Small rooms but perfect for what I needed.

I arrived early for check in but clerk said my room was ready. Very happy about that. Upon check in, clerk showed me my room. It was fine but the air conditioner was blowing warm air. Clerk said it just took time to cool down. That sounded reasonable so I unpacked and took a nap. When I woke up the room was just as hot as it was in the morning. Went to the desk and told the clerk (night clerk now) that my air conditioning was not working. He went with me to the room and said that it was working since the fan was running. I told him the fan had been running for hours and not provided any cooling. I thought at that time he was going to let me change rooms and I followed him back to the front desk. The clerk went to his computer and made a phone call. I waited for a good 15 minutes as I thought he was making preparations for repair or to give me a different room. After waiting I walked up to the desk and the clerk asked “can I help you?” I said I thought you were checking about moving me to a new room because of the air conditioning. He said “you have trouble with air conditioning? I said “yes - you went with me to see the air conditioner was not working!” (Several more iterations of the previous conversation) Then the clerk said “the hotel has a problem, I just work here, there is nothing I can do “. At this point I called Travelocity service line and your service person solved the problem by getting directly in touch with the clerk and getting him to provide another room

WiFi wasn’t reliable. No reliable/safe or designated parking. One night the water was cold. Couldn’t use the AC as it was leaking onto an electrical box, and when we notified reception all they did was place a hand towel on top.

nice place nice service very clean the showers too small need remolding

Location and every thing is fine.
I can't complain for for the price.
3.4
This hotel is reasonably priced for Athens, and the location of the hotel itself feels rather safe: but I would highly caution anyone against walking from this hotel to the center of Athens - prostitution, druggies, and trash along the 20 minute route, and definitely didn't feel safe on the streets there.
The hotel itself if fine: room was as expected, though we were told to leave the key at the front desk when we left: which seemed a bit risky given the general atmosphere of the area: front desk was a bit rude when we arrived: demanding that we pay the .50 euro 'tourist tax' immediately upon arrival even though we didn't have any change on us.
Might stay there again in a pinch, but probably would find somewhere else if possible.

The room was clean and roomy. It was conveniently located by the train station. One downfall is that the room’s air conditioner did not cool off very well.
3.4
Just great. It's nice and quite close to Metro Station
3.4
Near a train station. Kind staff. Kind of dumpy neighborhood with abandoned cars and buildings nearby
3.4
clean room, friend staff, post check-out keeping laggage

All the best !

The staff was excellent and extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location Vis a vis the Metro and National Railway. You can take Metro from the airport to Syntagma Station and then board the line to the Railway Station and the hotel is basically across the street! The cost is 10 Euros. It’s also just 7 minutes away from the Gazi Section of Athens for great nightlife!
3.4
Good value..Clean and friendly
3.4
Very nice hotel, only downside is the neighborhood is not so good if traveling by car, parking spaces were on the roadside and the staff expressed concerns about the safety of the car, e.g. advised not leaving anything visible inside.
Not a lot of coffeeshops/bakeries really close, only the (overpriced) kantine at the nearby rail road station.
3.4
One of my worst ever hotels I stayed in my life and I will never go back there again and I won’t let any of my friends to go there because it’s a worse no safety lock on the windows I have never seen none off the windows all ways open
3.4
friendly, helpful staff, clean room, good location.

I booked a room for wifi but there is no wifi access in the rooms. In addition to reception staff was not friendly and helpful for this issue.
3.4
Very good staff and good experience for sure. Very helpful staff and will surely come back here
3.4
The hotel is near a train station and it was super easy to get around Athens. The room was large with a little balcony and staff were friendly. The bathroom was tiny - you literally had to have your feet in the shower whilst on the loo. Also difficult to have a shower without flooding the bathroom. Not sure if all rooms are like this. Fine for us though!
3.4
Good location; close to a metro station and large supermarket. The price was very good and I got what I paid for.
3.4
Kind of far from the attraction points, rooms are small but in the end it was ok.
3.4
There is no private parking space although it said "free parking" on the website. I parked my car right in front of the hotel on the street and it got broken into and all my things were stolen. The area looks nice at first glance but it is a dangerous one. Even omonia is safer than this place in terms of theft.
The AC was only cooling the room and never heating. I was there when the weather was cold. I got so cold at night that i was feverish and really sick by the next day.
Wifi didn't reach my room which was in the basement.
This was the first hotel on my long journey through Greece and it ruined my trip.
2 of the receptionists were really nice and the breakfast was also good.

This should be rated poor.

very acceptable

needs a remodelation..!

It is located near Larissa Metro Station. Cheap price - and even cheaper service. I didn't pay a lot to stay here & yet it still a bit disappointed.Room 101 smelled like really old, and has 50 years old non-functional TV. It had a dust just under the table, like none cleaned a room for a year! The towels are old as well, cheap beds and sheets. Wifi is poor/slow.
Didn't eat their breakfast. I felt charging extra Euros for the optional breakfast was excessive.
Good for one night stay.
Be careful about thefts in the metro!

Shaver socket broken, wires showing on toilet light.only 1 bulb in 4-bulb chandelier working.chairs too old.no cup in bathroom for toothbrush.light in toilet noisy.

Interesting short trip. Syrians sleep on the streets with the dogs. They all look half dead. Was difficult not donating the entire holiday budget to them, they are very grateful for anything you have to offer money food blankets.
3.4
Really wonderful Taverna nearby, owners very friendly (lent us their umbrella!) and full of advice, really interesting area, 2 mins walk from Metro station, we loved staying here. When we stayed it was two star and having stayed in characterless 3 and 4 star hotels before, we found this hotel to be have more individualism and Greek identity than more plastic alternatives. The breakfasts were delicious, varied, generous, and very healthy. Brilliant!
3.4
Good hotel for the price. If you are coming to Athens for a couple of days and want a bolt holefor seeing the sites, the hotel is perfect. Nothing fancy but decent breakfast and good location. Not many places to eat in local vacinity is only slight negative..
3.4
Diethes Hotel is close to the regional railway station and the Metro and easy for travellers to find, those like me who suffer direction disorder on arrival in a new country. The station master pointed out the lights of the hotel to us from the station exit. Breakfasts are on the top floor and are substantial, giving one a good start to the day. The balcony, while small, allows one to open the French doors and experience the evening breeze. The hotel dog is a friendly character and followed us (or did we follow him?) to the Metro, where he said 'good day' and left us to catch our train. Catching the Metro is the best way to get around Athens as most streets are chaotic and footpaths are narrow.
3.4
Good location and helpful staff. The breakfast was marginal. The sauna was an extra 10 euro per person
