My 4th time staying here. Always a pleasure.

4 adult siblings gathered for one’s 60th bday. 1st time here and I loved it. Loved the rooms with the 2 doors and everyone gets the same view and a patio/balcony. Don’t know if it was the beds or mountain air but I slept great. Very crowded as there was a wedding on site that weekend which made the restaurant/bar service very slow and busy but I’m not gonna bash anyone for that. Could have had more than one bartender though. We ate dinner twice and breakfast buffet once and the food was very good. No fridge or microwave in room but we had coolers and had a little bday party in the room. It’s an older lodge but is updated with plenty of lighting and plugs(3 prong) so you can bring some of your own small appliances if you’re driving(fan, electric kettle….). Always had hot water in the shower. Walls a little flimsy so bring some earplugs We also had amazing weather and peak leaf season It is not a fancy 5 star place but I found it perfect for all of us

Very relaxing and peaceful stay. Views from our balcony were spectacular.
Service was lacking, due to staffing shortage, but all the staff there were extremely pleasant and helpful.

We had a relaxing stay. Room was adequate, king bed was comfy & the views were amazing. The food in dining room was delicious. We definitely would eat there again. Our last morning, there was a MOUSE in our room!!!!! We checked out quickly and won't pick this lodge again.

Best stay on our trip up the Blue Ridge. A lot going for it.

Lovely rustic hotel with fantastic views. Unfortunately we stayed when it was heavily raining so our views were limited, but it was a gorgeous setting and the restaurant was lovely for dinner and breakfast

The lodge overall is a nice place in a beautiful location.
Unfortunately my room had a pretty serious mold problem in the ceiling rafters. For $200 a night I expect better!

It was all good. The evening Mill and the restaurant was very good. However, the breakfast the next morning was very poor. They offered nothing but a buffet and it was low quality. Definitely not worth the $15! Would have been better had they offered an à la cart menu even if the quality was poor.

A perfect place to stay traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. Room was more than adequate, dinner was delightful, eggs at the breakfast buffet were a tad cold but the mugs of piping hot tea more than made up for it. But the main reason to stay is its right on the parkway with magnificent views of Sharp Top Mountain and Abbot Lake

If the rates weren’t overpriced I would have been satisfied with our accommodations, but at the price we paid, they were poor. We had a mouse visit our room while we were there. The restaurant there is also way overpriced for very average food. The shuttle service up Sharp Top Mountain was excellent and reasonably priced. The driver was great.

My (now) fiancé and I came to Peaks of Otter Lodge for a long weekend getaway and could not have been more pleased! Every staff member we encountered from front desk to the lounge to maintenance were friendly and helpful. The lodge is located in a serene getaway in the mountains so be prepared to put your phone down and enjoy nature.
Worth noting that the expectation is you’re staying in a lodge. The rooms and linens are perfectly clean, but rooms are a bit old fashioned (we found this perfectly charming!)
The restaurant onsite was delicious for dinner, we enjoyed the Butternut Squash soup and cavatappi pasta. Overall, highly recommend this stay and we’re already planning to go back!

Beautiful location and excellent staff. An older property that could use more updating, but we knew that. The important stuff worked. Overall, a unique property ready to be enjoyed.

Hotel ist from 1964, has been updated but the old charme still exists. Beautiful and quiet location in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Amazing location, overlooking the lake and peak. The rooms were basic and tired, but clean and great value for money - fine for us passing through for a night. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Took my 99 year old Mom and my granddaughter to peaks of otter Lodge for an overnight. The granddaughter and I wanted to climb the peak. When we checked in, we got the exact room we needed. They had already reserved us a handicapped room and we had access to an elevator to go to the room that was actually in the main lodge. The area was right there too. Graciously allowed a late check out so my mom could stay in the room while we did our hike. When you stay at the Lodge, you have to understand that it is an old property and you’re not gonna get five star accommodations because it is what it is, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable , and they added a rollaway for my granddaughter. If you wanted to relaxing enjoyable time sitting by the lake and hiking around the lake, this is the place. If you’re very adventurous try to climb.

A bit like a step back in time. Just how you would hope to find an older mountain inn. Full service with wonderful views and lots of outdoor options.
We hope to come back soon.

My husband and I were engaged here, and we recently came back to celebrate our engagement anniversary. The staff then and now were very helpful and friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. They also make efforts to be more eco friendly. Also also, the scenery around the property is GORGEOUS. I definitely recommend!

We stayed here as a break in our trip to VA Beach. The place is dated, but nice. We rode our Harley and this was in a beautiful area. We went out to eat, came back and sat by the pond for a while. Around 11 pm we were unable to access our room. Had to walk to the front and ask for help. Tired and frustrated we sat on the sidewalk till after 1 a.m. the girl at the desk tried her best, but couldnt get help. She opened the door to the nearest room and gained access through our patio door. There are no excuses for this kind of trouble. The girl tried, but the property service model is not designed to help after dark. They said they would request a 50% discount from hotels.com. It is not about the money. I will never stay here again. I would rather stay in town, where i know i can get in my room, and drive the parkway from there.

This is a great location right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great walking path around Abbott Lake. The food in the red was good.

The Peaks of Otter is a peaceful place to spend quiet time and recharge. Plenty of hiking and outdoor options are easily assessable.
The restaurant is quaint and service is good. Zack was our waiter and provided excellent service at Dinner.
The Breakfast Buffet was OK, but it was apparent the waitress needed better support from the hostess and kitchen staff. She was replenishing the buffet herself when 3 cooks sat inside and would not take care of making sure the Buffet was stocked with fresh food. Truly a lack Of team work for breakfast.
Because the waitress had to do It all, meant she could not provide better service. She did the best she could and with a smile on her face! Bravo to her. But lack of leadership and team work was noticed in making breakfast a better experience and supporting the waitress on the floor. She had energy and enthusiasm. Hostess barely lifted a finger to help.
The overall stay was good.

No fitted sheets on the bed. Dirty towel hanging in bathroom. Bugs in the bathroom when we got up. Couldn’t get out of there quick enough. Only stayed the 1 night of our 3 night stay.
