Glasses dirty
Bathroom not clean
Odour to room
Doors would not close well
Friendly reception, prop service

the room is okay but the bathroom needs work.
It could use a towel rack and a new shower curtain .
The restaurant could use a coat of paint.
The carpet on the stairs and hallway should be changed or deep cleaned.
Staff in general are friendly and helpful.

The setting was lovely but the cleanliness was not up to standard. The staff seemed new to the hospitality industry. TV didn’t work in room. Food was ok.
Booked because of the setting but was disappointed in the experience

Hot water takes 15 minutes to reach room. Light bulbs burnt out in lamps.

Very nice inn. Needs fine updating . No rlevatir. Great bed and scenery! Friendly staff

Unfortunately the bridge to the pier was being repaired making this inn not as convenient to get to the downtown village area where the boat cruise, shops and restaurants are. You can walk to those places ok. There is no laundry facilities on site. There is an excellent laudromat on Charles Street. The room in the Annex though large enough is rather plain.

Beautiful location!

Property and room was great. Hot water in shower had to run for a full 10 minutes before it got like warm. (Perhaps this was due to the construction and water main work on Stone Road.

Great location. Nice view. Decent room size. But mold in shower. Dated furnishings. Dirty furniture. Cheap and run down looking. It’s a shame this place hasn’t been kept up as it could be a real gem. For the price we felt it wasn’t worth it.

room was clean , breakfast was ok. Staff is young and under trained. simply passing a vacuum in the hallways and stairwell would go a long way. would of been 5 stars otherwise

Old in need of TLC and not clean, Dirty floors on the room, shower was full of mold. I paid for a queen size bed and got a double size bed.

View from rooms in the 500 was not very good

The rooms were clean and comfortable , the staff was friendly. The bridge next to the hotel was closed for repair this was disappointing as we booked the hotel for easy walking access to the thousand island cruises

Great hotel in convenient location and gorgeous views. Getting there was a bit of an ordeal due to the construction of the bridge beside it but once we figured it out all was good. Clean rooms, nicely decorated. Quiet for the most part. Loved the options for dining in the hotel and a nice walk to main downtown for other dining options. Loved being able to sit in a chair on the water looking at the gorgeous views.

The antiquity of the area and the service provided by the staff there's outstanding.
Unfortunately, the upscale dining was not available weekdays when we stayed

Third time at this hôtel. I really like the location near the water with his two restaurants with great patios.
Bed are confortable, bathroom are clean but hot water and pressure in the shower is missing.
It’s old but very clean and beautiful.
Lot of blue algae in the water that should be remove everyday because it’s smell really bad.
If you have a boat you can dock directly at the hôtel and it’s free.

There are a few pros and cons of this place. Overall, I really had a good experience.
Pros: location is great and staff was extremely helpful and kind. Free parking across the street!
Cons: there is no elevator so we had to carry the luggage up three flights! The other biggest con was the mold spots in the room fan. the rest of the area seemed clean otherwise. I put the clean please sign on our door and when we returned, the sign was inside and the room was never serviced, which was disappointing.
if I'm ever in the area again, I would look for a different location based on the elevator and mold.

For what you pay, this outdated hotel is not what you pay for. Was very disappointed but the stuff were great. Excellent location but will not stay there again.

Must say I was disappointed with recent stay. This is a classic hotel in Gananoque, and my wife and I even had a wedding party here in 2014. The place is now pretty rough.
Checkin was fine, and staff were friendly at the desk. My room on the other hand felt dirty and gross. Stains on chairs and comforter. Big cobweb covered in dust ran from curtain to just above the bed. Surfaces looked like they had been quickly wiped with a dirty cloth. TV was barely working. Carpet looked grimy. Bathroom was a bit better but still not what you would expect for the steep price.
The carpets in hallway were also looking very worn. There was also a smoke detector chirping somewhere outside my room through the night. Not much in the way of sound proofing as I could hear some romance happening down the hall. Overall pretty rough and not a very quaint inn.
My room included 2 free breakfasts so I invited my in-laws over for a bite thinking it might be better. This restaurant used to be a wonderful dining experience- I had been here for New Years several years ago and it was classy and nice. Not so any more. The breakfast menu was extremely limited. 2 of us had a simple 2 eggs option. We had ordered eggs over easy and they came over done. Home fried potatoes were hard and raw. Had watermelon on the plate which seemed random and gross. Even the toast tasted cheap. Not sure how you screw up bacon and eggs but this place did.
Not worth the high room rate.

Good hotel and an excellent location. Easy free parking. Staff were helpful and friendly. The thing which could have been improved were the towels-old, thread bare and discoloured.

The history of the inn is unique.
We have stayed here a number of times and have always enjoyed the experience and the helpful staff.

We had a wonderful time in Gananoque. The Gananoque Inn and Spa was in a very convenient location,.The breakfast was à la carte and tasty with a beautiful dining area that over looked the river. the staff were pleasant.
We were very disappointed that this property is NOT Handicapped Accessible throughout their facility. The only area was 1st Floor but had a surge charge of $100.00 above the original price. It would very difficult for walkers to use this facility and definitely not accessible for wheelchairs and NO evaluator. So climbing 3-full sets of stairs can be challenging for some visitors. The other complaint we had was no microwave or fridge in our room when we were paying a premium rate with no view except a parking lot!

Do not Stay here! They represent themselves as an Inn & spa. In fact, there is no spa… The property is actually a motel… We arrived at the property, We’re so turned off by the smell, All the flies.. And the rude owners We went and stayed somewhere else. Very overpriced
Asked for a refund and explained our concerns, The owners refused to address our concerns..
Have started the process to escalate our complaints, During our research have found out that the property was recently sold. Previously, the property was owned by a lovely couple from Ottawa, who offered excellent service. Things have since deteriorated greatly. A much cheaper option would be the Comfort Inn in Gan. Keep your boat at the municipal marina which offers docking.

Our family of five really enjoyed the location of the property and being so close to the water was great to take evening walks. We also liked that the area to board the boats to visit Boldt Castle was within walking distance of the Inn.

Staff didn’t speak English nor French not familiar with Canadian culture. Very poor service in the dining room and the lady at the front desk was very obnoxious and rude.

Beautiful Inn right on the water, within walking distance of the Boat Cruise and kayak tours. We had a quiet room on the 3rd floor, but if you can't handle stairs, would recommend a lower level room. The front desk staff were very helpful and courteous. Dining staff excellent. Would return here again.

Very good feel, pleasant staff, clean comfortable rooms.
