Amazing hospitality and villa with private pool was perfect for kids.
2.0
Vey private sprawling resort with gorgeous landscaping full of huge rainforest plants and bromeliads, plenty of space between bungalows. Great volcano view and fun pool bar. Excellent staff. Extra spacious rooms. Interior was a bit dated and not the comfiest beds. No mini fridge. Loved the private jungle view outdoor porch and Jacuzzi tub
2.5
It was a beautiful location the view even better.

Great paradise with a incredible view

This place was like paradise. View from our patio was breathtaking. We really enjoyed the pool area as well.

Such a beautiful stay. The location is gorgeous and the facilities are clean and give off the right vibe. Stayed in the Arenal Villa and it exceeded our expectations.

We loved our villa! Beautiful and serene area, close to the main town yet far enough away to feel remote. Within 10-30 minutes of everything we wanted to do there. Parking was easy and staff was very accommodating.
3.0
Good: large clean bedrooms with a breathtaking view of the Arenal volcano. Many will love the bathrooms as they are spacious with a natural look. The pool area is nice and the bartender is super friendly.
Bad: it's a bit inconvenient that you can't park your car close to the rooms, though you can call for the hotel's transportation (golf cart). Food could really use some improvement in quality. The pool itself is artificially heated mildly, so don't expect thermal hot springs like other hotels in the area.
4.0
The property was very beautiful and the hotel staff was fine.
I do think the bar drinks & bar food are way over priced as well as their spa services.
The pool are itself was small but good, water was warm felt very nice. Closes too early in our opinion.
Our room was fine, every day we found bugs but I suppose we are in the middle of the jungle. It was a very nice find.

Definitely the description and photos on website do not reflect the real situation there.

Beautiful hotel !

Beautiful, clean and friendly

The place was quiet and friendly. Pool was a little small but enjoy it. The prices at the bar and restaurant were higher than I would have expected.

The property is beautiful but the room pictures are very deceiving.
We went there for our 28th anniversary and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made. We paid for three nights, but checked out early.
Our first night we were excited to take a thermal tub on our deck since it had been raining all night. I asked if someone could take a look at the broken tub and no hot water but no one showed up. The sheets were dirty and filled with bugs so we went to the market and bought some sheets.
The next day we tried the breakfast, but it was awful and never went again.
We asked the hotel if they could please look at our tub our place doesn’t get hot water. We come back that night, soaked and cold from the rain hoping for hot shower and a hot tub. It still didn’t work and we had maintenance guys on our deck from 6 PM to 9:30 PM which made things not very romantic. After all that they said sorry it’s broken and never came back or offered to put us in a room that does have hot water.
After they left , we went to go sit out on the chairs, but it was so slippery on the tiles that my wife slipped and hit her head. It startled a cane frog which secreted his venom onto her leg so we had to go to ER.
The next morning on our anniversary, we were making love and then my wife screams and gets under the covers. Two of the maids were standing there eating nuts while they’re watching us! I went outside to confront them and they ran away.
We come back that night and it’s cold so we checked out.

Great hotel to stay at with a different atmosphere. You get a beautiful room and bathroom that encapsulates Costa Rica. Staff was friendly and attentive majority of the time

The location with a fantastic view of Vulcan Arenal.
The exceptional spa service.

Beautiful property. Staff very helpful and friendly. Unique stay and exclusive area.

The view was about the only part of our stay that we enjoyed. You cannot drive cars to your villas, you have to take a golf cart each way to get to your car. There were frogs and spiders in the room. The sheets were moist. The room has no microwave or utensils and our coffee machine didn’t work. The pool by our villa was gross and isn’t cleaned. We left very unsatisfied.

Gorgeous property, cute and spacious room. Stellar service from all the staff, and the bartender even pointed out a monkey from the swim up bar! such a treat :) Buffet breakfast was a nice touch. My only complaint was the internet was not very reliable when I was there, but they were clearing working on fixing it so I can't fault them for that. Would stay again!

I have stayed here multiple times. Its always quiet and peaceful and the pool area is never crowded. I really want to give it a 5 star review but the breakfast food is horrible. The only plus side is my stay is very reasonably priced so next time i will just go out to eat. Besides that the place was perfect.

Great service but the hotel is old and dated. The room and bathroom are huge and comfortable. Dinner was not good but there are many great restaurants in the area.
2.5
Beautiful room where th a view.
3.0
Even though the rooms were very nice and spacious, several items were not working (front door, light switches, outlets, etc)
Restaurant food was very generic and not too fresh

The grounds of the property and the view are absolutely beautiful. However, the maintenance is lacking. For example, the private pool at our villa looks gorgeous from a far, but up close many tiles are missing/falling off. There are water marks all over the bathroom fixtures, cracks in the doors you can see through. Nothing truly "bad" or "wrong" to ruin a trip by any means, but for the price paid I expected more-expected it to look like the photos on the hotels website from any distance. Also the drinks at the pool are super weak and super expensive. $25 for two poorly made kamikaze shots for example.

The staff was amazing, nice and helpful. Private pool and bathroom had droplets of blood, there was blood on the wall behind our bed. Received stained towels and sheets. The swim up bar is COVERED in BLACK MOLD. Had no WiFi 3/4 days I was there they claimed it was “down” but it still worked in the lobby, restaurant, and moldy swim up bar (everywhere but our room)

We loved our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise. What a beautiful view of the Volcano from high up in the hills above La Fortuna area. The staff was so nice and welcoming. We were upgraded to a better villa upon arrival which was such a kind gesture! Breakfast was awesome and included some typical food plus other hotel restaurant classics. The area around the hotel is wild and natural. We saw so much wildlife from just outside our door. Only problem is that we had a bat fly into our room on our last night - quite terrifying for us not used to that sort of thing. I would recommend this to everyone!

The room was clean and had a large bathroom. The only issue was that the room was the farthest room from the parking lot and one could easily get lost finding their way around the property and going up a hill with a bad knee did not help either. Other than that, the hotel is nice.

Very clean and staff was very friendly and accommodating! Highly recommended!!

Gorgeous property with amazing views of Arenal Volcano. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean, also air conditioned. The pool area was lovely, and the restaurant had a nice breakfast buffet. I'll recommend this resort to friends and family, including families with kids.

We really enjoyed staying here. The staff was amazing and everything surpassed our expectations.
3.0
Cute, rustic feel with nature all around which I liked. Great view from room of volcano. Worked for sleeping and in between excursions done outside of property. Only one restaurant that was just ok so definitely needed to go off property for eating. Pool area fine but temp too cool and hot tub not hot. Not very inviting to sit around pool and lounge. Not many pool chairs with large gravel area that was a waste of space. Definitely not a resort but just a nice, quiet place to sleep. Lots of baby ants in room but normal for this type of place and expected. Did love outside bathtub that got hot! Waterfall shower unique but took up alot of space and not much water. More counter space would have been good.

Beautiful flowers and green. Many unique birds and remote feeling to appreciate the rainforest. The staff were extremely helpful and made suggestions to make our visit smooth. Many thanks

Wow! You can experience the full tropical rainforest beauty right there on your porch! Stunning view of Arenal Volcano. Super friendly & helpful staff. Really tasty breakfast buffet each morning to fuel up. Well located for all the nearby activities in the area. Great visit for 5 days!
2.5
We loved this place! Individual "bungalows" with small private patio/pools, nice walking paths, quiet, gorgeous plants abound, great pool w/ bar, food at the restaurant was very good, service was great, golf carts came quickly when called. We highly recommend this place

We stayed in a Villa Arenal for 3 nights while we explored the La Fortuna area. It was beautiful, clean, and had amazing views of the volcano. The hotel pool was warm and inviting with an excellent swim up bar that also serves food. The restaurant was not the best, but the bar food was great.
