History: A major renovation to this building/condo was recently completed bringing a new life into to an old building. Built by architect Thomas Alley in 1874 and finished in 1876. The Alley family retained ownership of 62 Prince Street until the 1940s, when the widow of Alley’s grandson, Dr. Gordon Alley, sold the building to the Canadian Red Cross Society. Prior to this, the Alleys’ rented the building to Royal Canadian Mounted Police for use as its headquarters. It would house divisional administrative offices and serve as a home for unmarried officers. In 1949, tenders were called for the addition to the south side of the building. By 1950, the addition was complete, as was the remodeling of the building’s interior.

Can’t say enough about how lovely this condo is! Perfect location to either stroll around town or as a home base to visit the island. Ryan was a fantastic host, quick to reply and generous to accommodate our schedule when he could. Be prepared to be amazed by the height of the ceilings, the attention to detail and charm of this place!

Loved the apartment, gorgeous reno, comfortable beds, hot showers, and a great location. But the keypad entry battery died and we were locked out. Contacted the host and had to go on an adventure to get the new key. He asked us to replace the battery, which I felt was maybe his job. When we arrived, the garbage had not been taken out, and the humidifier was so full it was almost overflowing. Clearly had not been emptied in some time. We had to strip all the beds when we left, which surprised me. I would have expected our cleaning fee would have covered this. And based on the other things that were missed, perhaps it is time to talk to the cleaning staff. That being said, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It was a fabulous property.

Overall a great experience. The condo was modern, clean and spacious. Perfect for a family or 2 couples. Walking distance to waterfront area, restaurants, boutiques, etc. Had an issue with the door keypad but the host was very quick in helping us with the issue. We plan on returning next year.

We really enjoyed our stay in Charlottetown. This unit looks great in the listing and might be even nicer in person. Check-in was simple (we were provided a personalized door code to get in), parking was easy, the unit was very clean and well-appointed, and the location is fantastic. We walked almost everywhere in town. We especially appreciated that the unit had laundry and a full, well-equipped kitchen.

The house was stunning and gorgeous. Clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Conveniently located, close to the waterfront and downtown shopping. My wife and daughter loved it. A place we would recommend and we’d definitely rent again.

We absolutely loved everything about this property. It was clean, spacious, comfortable and incredibly well equipped. The location was perfectly central and allowed for an easy walk for sightseeing and meals. The host, Ryan, was highly responsive and friendly both before and during our stay. We’ve stayed many times in Charlottetown - this was by far our favourite!
