The hotel is very comfy, with nice staff and environment, the beds and toilet are all clean. There is staff standby in the front desk 24hrs, so even if we arrived the hotel late in midnight, still able to have help from the staff.
The breakfast lady is very nice too.
But the location is not in city centre, we have to travel through uber each time for about 15mins, but it is easy to call uber so doesnt really bothered.
They got thick blanket so it's warm and cozy in bed, but since the room is quite cold without heater, it is freezing cold when you are out of bed 4 in the midnight preparing to go out for some tour. Prepare really warm clothes.

positive points: the lady at breakfast was very attentive and polite. they provided sweetener for my mother to use at breakfast, since she is diabetic and there was none on the first day. the hotel is very clean and the beds are comfortable.
Negative points: My problem with them started when I made the reservation and since it was non-refundable I had to continue. I booked a triple room, but for some strange reason it only included 2 and I had to pay an extra. Ok, so far it could be a problem with the platform too. I contacted them and they charged me a very high amount to add the third person. So I went back to the platform and booked a single room, which would be the same price and I would have more privacy. Shortly after I made my reservation, the hotel, knowing it was for me, canceled it without giving any reason. A unilateral maneuver. So I was forced to pay the hotel directly, without going through Expedia. So I made a reservation for one more day, the day I would arrive in Cusco, the next day I would go to Aguas Calientes. They canceled it again saying that I could not book just one night, BUT that I could book directly through the hotel website, as a courtesy they would keep the same price and provide the transfer from the airport. I thought it was strange, they were going through the platform, but ok. On the day of arrival, the taxi didn't show up. No hot water on the upper rooms

Everything good but it had nothing in the surrounding area

It's very good service, but its no close of historic city's center. You may need transportation every day.

Excellent service from Torre Dorada staff.

A bit far from the city square, in more isolated area. Rooms clean. Breakfast was descent. Cook Carina will cook for you but limited food options. About 10 min ride into the main square.

The location is good; rooms are good too. The staff is limited and sometimes not present. Front desk has to open the door and the person in charge is rarely around.

Boutique style hotel. For breakfast, a chef was available to prepare the type of omelet you wanted. The hotel is located in a quiet area. The neighborhood is safe. The hotel attendants were always willing to help me when I had general questions about my stay.

Unfortunately, this stay wasn’t as pleasant as i thought it would be based on the high rating.
I booked my stay and then needed to make changes right away and never was able to contact the property. I needed to leave 2 days earlier. When i checked in the gentleman promised to get back to me within two days, that never happened. I still checked out 2 days earlier and provided my email address for communication. It’s been already a week and i still have not heard from anyone. The room was renovated, overall comfortable but very cold. The windows had holes. There was no hot water for 2 days and when calling the receptionist to find out what’s going on there was again no clear answer. Giving all that I definitely did not want to stay there longer.
However, the cleaning lady and the cooking lady were the sweetest. The breakfast for the price of the room was decent. Had variety and they could make eggs or delicious pancakes to order.
It could definitely be a great option in Cusco if anyone was managing this property.

The hotel is a ten-minute drive from the ancient city, but it is very quiet at night. Hotel employee Juan Victor helped me contact the travel agency many times in Spanish and was very patient!

Absolutely the worst hotel in all of Cusco. Do NOT book here under any circumstances. If you don't get mugged in the dark and dirty streets outside the hotel, the staff will make sure they take every opportunity to stiff you on your bill.
Run, don't walk away from booking at this seedy, trashy hotel!

Excellent reception personnel. The breakfast is delicious with various options. Located in a very calm neighborhood with an excellent view of mountains. Rooms were clean and spacious. Really loved staying here!!

Would not recommend staying here. The bathroom itself was not very clean. No hot water whatsoever for two days, I could handle warm but it was ice cold. Had to always have staff open a gate to even get into the hotel. Staff seemed friendly but translation issues and were not helpful when needing a taxi. Area did not seem super safe for solo travelers. I actually left a night early so I did not have to deal with the hotel any longer.

THIS HOTEL IS NOT IN RANGE FOR THE MACHU PICCHU OR SACRED VALLEY TOURS. The hotel and staff was very sweet and helpful but I did specifically book the Torre Dorada because I was under the impression we could be picked up for our tours, hosted by Lima Tours, but I was informed then evening before by a guide we had to meet them in the main square. Be prepared to wake up earlier for these tours.
Otherwise, the hotel itself was nice! The pictures show a set up bar on the upper terrace but there was nothing there while we were there so that was a little disappointing. Breakfast was light but nice, eggs made upon request and different breads and some fruit. Water bottles and beers for sale in the lobby and they protect your luggage when you need them too after check out.
There weren't any food options within close walking distance so either eat out and bring your food back with you or be prepared to download PedidosYa (basically Door dash) to order food if you are settled into your room for the night.
The only complaint I have about the hotel was that every night at around 10pm there was a sewage smell that came from the bathroom so we had to shut the door and turn the fan on. Maybe they have a sewage line issue? It didn't seem like an easy to solve problem we we did not opt to say anything to the staff.
We probably would not stay here again because of the situation with the tours and the walk to the Town Center is about 40 minutes but the hotel itself is cute and comfortable!

Cusco, Peru Torre Dorada
Stayed for (2) nights during the month of May 2024.
I had talked with (3) receptionist: at check in, during the night, and at the check out. All receptionists were dry, cold and has no sense of hospitality. A receptionist on duty will lock the front door every time you want to get in or out.
Room was ok—served it purpose. The rooms are cold due to old window system. Expect to have a fresh air coming into your room. It is cold during the night! My room has an electric portable heater.
The area around hotel looks clean and safe to me compared to the center of the city. Walking distance from the hotel to the center around 25-30 minutes. Very safe; few street dogs.
Breakfast? Not really—I will call it "a snack" see pictures to shape your own opinion.
This hotel has hot water section in "Thermos" on each floor. That was great!
My room (403) faced the construction which began at or about 7 AM—see pictures. You will hear other guests for sure. You will hear a "dog opera" during the night! A lot of dog barking that woke me up at night.
Information about check out time that is posted on the door inside the room is inaccurate. It states check out is 9:00 AM.
I would stay in this area, but not in this hotel. This hotel has not partnered with any travel agency to help their guests to reserve tours.

we arrived around 9pm but no one was manning the locked front door and had to buzz/yield for about 10 minutes before someone came to the door. also there is no phone number listed so was super frustrating.
room itself is clean but no water

Room 203 - the door of the shower cube cannot be closed. It’s better to fix. Thanks.

nice, cozy place.

This is a very nice place in a quiet neighborhood. It's about 35 minutes' walk away from the Cusco main square and far from the busy touristy place. Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was pretty good. It's only 5-10 minutes CAB / Uber ride away from the main square.

The people working at the front desk and woman cooking breakfast were all wonderful! Akira was very very helpful!

Staff super helpful and attentive! It’s very quiet and hotel is right in front on a park. Breakfast attendant was the best and will make you fresh eggs, pancakes and orange juice. Hotel is perfect and away from the busy central area, and great for long day tours. Recommend getting altitude pills/ coca leave/ caramels before getting to the hotel, as it’s more of a residential area and not many shops around. There is a convenient store right next to the hotel, but closest pharmacy is 5 min walk along with food shops!

There is one poor guy doing all the work. Hot water was either non-existent or took at least 15 mins of running of the water to come on.
Said provided laundry on the website but told guests no. Then when I was told yes, it was a disaster.
I also received a random WhatsApp message saying I had to book another night (I had 2 booked) and was sent a link to pay. I called the number and some random man answered. It was all very sketchy, so I said I would pay at the hotel. The front desk knew nothing about it, but I paid it anyway.
I ended up leaving early and wanted a refund, but of course it didn't happen.
Also, the walls are VERY thin, with wooden floors throughout so when the people came in at 4:30A dragging their suitcases up the stairs, it woke everyone up. You could hear people's conversations two rooms away.
Room was clean. He ordered dinner for me, which was the nicest thing about the place, but didn't have change for me to pay him.
I don't normally write reviews but I cannot get over how many positive reviews this place has. The couple staying next to me said the same thing.

The staff was excellent, most would go out of their way to please. I wasn’t happy that the site advertised “restaurant” and there was none, just the dining area where breakfast was served (which by the way was pretty good). Also advertised daily housekeeping but housekeeping would only come as requested.

I liked that it was open 24 hours a day. The area was calm not to far from plaza de armas

On my second day, I had requested Breakfast package to
go for an early visit to Machu Picchu. No meat. Pure Vegetarian. Provided sandwich with meat & cheese. Disgusting.

Check in was quick as it was prepaid. Everything else was average. Told a staff member about the really slow drainage in bathroom. It was not addressed during my stay.
