The view from the property balcony is lovely, the room was fine and the staff in the main were helpful. The description of on site food for breakfast, dining and drinks availability was false as the adjacent restaurant and bar was closed due to recent damage by Storm Beryl! We had not been told about this and it would definitely effected our decision to book this place had we had known beforehand. The information provided by Expedia leaves a lot to be desired and I am unlikely to use them again. I'm trying to be fair but due to the damage the restaurant was been repaired and we were in fact next to a building site with workmen and concrete mixers on site most days.

My stay at this hotel was exactly what I wanted. Clean and comfortable with a great view.
The staff were all fantastic. They were welcoming and extremely helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Upon arrival, we were left a little unsure about our choice - but after settling in, we knew right away this was the right place for us. The room was very simple - but we weren't here for the room . . . we were here for the beach and all the other amenities this property had to offer - and it delivered fantastically! We made many great friends of the staff - and cannot wait to return again someday soon.

Absolutely great location - the property in itself it is a bit outdated but it’s very clean and it does the job :) you get a lovely beach and shops and nice restaurants within easy reach. Most of the staff are quite friendly. We would definitely go back.

It was always clean, inside, rooms were clean. The outside area was clean, had a water tap plus a huge water container to rinse your feet off after being in the ocean and sand, so it wasn’t all over the pool or tracked inside the hotel or rooms. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay, highly recommend.

Excellent location right on the beach. Fixtures, furniture, linens were worn and dated. Food and prices were good in the restaurant. People were very friendly, nice and helpful. Excellent view from the balcony on third floor.

The accommodation is basic but clean. The location is awesome.

Good beach access and sunset view as name suggests. Casual dining next door and supermarket opposite.
Friendly staff and good cocktail bar for sundowner.
Quiet in evening which we liked.

Amazing location

We had a fantastic 10 days here recently. The location can’t be beaten - right on the beach with free sunbeds and towels available daily. Close to the supermarket and lots of restaurants are within walking distance. All rooms have a sea view so you get the benefit of beautiful sunsets each night. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds are comfortable. Linen and towels clean and changed regularly. The staff here are fantastic- nothing is too much trouble and they are very helpful( Curly and his team are great- they will look after you on the beach and around the pool). Lots of people return to this hotel year after year and I can understand why - we will certainly book again. The hotel is a bit dated and so are the kitchens in the room -so probably not the best place if you want to cook lots of meals although is it perfectly adequate overall with a large fridge freezer/ kettle / toaster and hob.

We had another lovely stay at this small complex, beautifully situated on the beach at Holetown. The staff team are all very friendly and helpful and an asset to the hotel. Nothing negative to say at all.
Thanks to the team at Sunset Beach for an idyllic stay.

We had an amazing stay. The staff was very helpful. Restaurant next door making handy for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Close to other restaurants . Overall very please with our stay.

There was one family of 5 in room 3 who never supervised their children who constantly screamed the entire time they were in the pool. Finally another guest asked the kids to stop screaming all day long. The quiet lasted about an hour. Their smallest child about 15 mos old,was left by the pool many times without any floatation and eventually fell in the pool. Our room was very clean, but it needs additional lighting, in my opinion.

Amazing great location and great value for money staff very helpful and friendly

The Hotel is in need of a refresh but it’s a small negative when you consider the amazing positive of a direct view out to the Caribbean Sea. To wake up each morning with this view from your balcony is priceless. A very good bar again directly by the sea. Didn’t try restaurant attached but looked good.
1.5
The rooms are dated. Cleaning of the room with new towels etc was only done every other day. We had two bath mats at either side of the bed on the floor. These were dirty and had not been replaced after the previous guests. Reception area v dated . Hotel staff v friendly however.

Tropical Sunset exceeded our expectations! On arrival, we were bracing ourselves for a disappointment because the hotel lobby and corridor to the rooms is a bit basic. But once inside the room and on the terrace, we were pleasantly surprised. The facilities are great (wonderful shower!), good pool and stunning location directly onto a beautiful beach. We couldn't fault anything. The staff were amazingly helpful and bent over backwards to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We will definately go back!

Hotel in fantastic position with great views. Rooms are adequate if a little basic. Shower great. Bed a bit hard!!

Excellent location on West Coast with large Massy store, car rental, petrol station and bus stops nearby as well as bars and restaurants. There are just 23 apartments with a small pool
and direct access to the beach where sun beds, towels and umbrellas are provided for guests free of charge. I stayed on my own initially in a ground floor apartment before being joined by my friends and felt perfectly safe- Mark and Patrick the security staff are always around and kept an eye on me. Rooms are cleaned and floors washed every day. A/C, ceiling fan, large fridge freezer with ice cube maker, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, safe and hairdryer provided, shower is large and hot. Ground floor apartments are larger than the upper floors, light and airy- plenty of room for 3. Staff v helpful, receptionist happily printed out our boarding passes. Beautiful beaches on this coast, you can walk to several beaches in either direction. Most of the guests had stayed here several times and I’m definitely returning. I thoroughly recommend but book quickly as Tropical Sunset and its bar/restaurant Zaccios are unfortunately closing on 31st March 2021 for total redevelopment

We stayed in a 3D floor waterfront apartment with beautiful views of the sunset each night. Really enjoyed the private balcony, comfortable king bed, and shower. The grocery store was right across the street and several restaurants and bars were within a short walking distance.

Great location, comfortable studio room with a large bed and a balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The staff are friendly and the place is kept clean. A moments’ walk from all the amenities of Holetown. Overall, great value for money and we would return.

The property is old and needs updating. That said it is kept very clean. The location is terrific. None of this will matter much as the whole site including Zaccios is closing down and will be a building site so be aware of the properties nearby over the next couple of years.

Very simple 2* efficiency hotel with small kitchenette and en-suite shower room located right on the beach and run by very nice people. The rooms are basic bit a good size and were kept nice and clean by housekeeping. Beds were comfortable, the furnishings a little rustic, but if your looking for good value, convenience, and as close to the beach as you can get, then this is the place for you.
5.0
Wonderful casual setting ON the beach. Friendly, helpful staff from front desk, security, house keeping to pool/beach staff. Great location in middle of HoleTown. Kitchenette has all you need- 4 c coffeemaker, plates, glassware, utensils for 4. cook top, microwave and generous sized refrigerator. Grocery store, bank. gas station across street. Restaurants and bars can walk to. Clean and spacious, updated baths. Comfortable beds. GREAT AC! Not stuffy fancy, but warm and comfortable.

Just a great place on the ocean. Setting spectacular, views incredible. Rooms are clean and functional. Good busy bar and food excellent.
2.0
Excellent value apartment. All rooms faced out to sea so there was no supplement for a sea view. The room had everything we needed but without the frills of a more expensive establishment. We had a large bed with lovely cotton sheets. There are both aircon and fans in the room. Toiletries were provided too which we had not expected.
The staff were lovely, but as it was full they could not accommodate late checkout. However we were able to stay on the beach and around the pool until late afternoon.
The location is really close to all amenities with Zaccios restaurant next door, the supermarket across the road, and a bus stop outside. We could walk within 5 minutes to several restaurants both cheap and top of the range.

Super friendly staff and super beautiful property!!

Nice hotel on a beautiful beach, kitchen was small but well equipped, bed was huge. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and buses run north and south from right outside, so easy to get around. Snorkelling off the beach was good, recommend walking down to the breakwater/reef a few hundred yards to the right. Lots of fish there and further out we saw turtles too. Only complaint was the road noise which very bad from early in the morning, definitely bring ear plugs, I slept ok after using them.

Staff very pleasant, very nice view. Well located, easy access to the north and south of the coast.

This was our first stay in Barbados after a brief taster last year from a cruise. We arrived at Tropical Sunset early evening. Reception greeted us, showed us to a large well-equipped room on the 2nd floor. It wasnt until the the following morning when we opened those curtains & realised just how close to the Caribbean Sea we were & what a wonderful view we had, how lovely this place was.Grab a beach towel & Curley & the beach guys look after you for the day on the beach (or by the pool if its a high tide). From 4-7 its happy hour so the ever-smiling bar-guys will take care of your every need.Zaccios restaurant has some fabulous mid-priced cuisine, served by a team of the most pleasant girls, in a spotless restaurant right by the sea & its all open until 11pm.You dont need to leave the premises!however...We DID leave the premises Massey Store opposite could supply anything/everything wed need.Opposite the Chattel Village huts, & in the other direction the Designer Limegrove Lifestyle Centre. All around are restaurants. We had no bad experiences in Barbados. Amongst those we visited in Holetown are: Just Grillin (£), The Beach House (££) Zaccios (££) Spago (£££) The Mews (£££) Sitar (££).Plus the lively weekend nightlife on 1st & 2nd Street - all within strolling distance.Add to this the reggage bus which takes you to Bridgetown/Speightstown for a couple of dollars within 20 minutes, you have the island practically covered from right outside the door.

Tropical Sunset is situated three steps down to the beach and a short walk from a large supermarket and a number of restaurants. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is rated as 3 star but presents as better. The only possible downside for less able visitors is that there is no lift but there are 6 ground floor studios, so you just need to book early.
2.5
Excellent staff who helped in every way. Proximity to beach, shops and bars/restaurants.

Tropical Sunset is the perfect place to stay in Holetown all rooms face the sea and glorious sunsets. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful. For me it’s feels like my second home somewhere to totally relax and recharge the batteries.
Many bars and restaurants within walking distance and a large supermarket across the road. The Chattel Houses are also across the road for excellent shopping and Lime Grove is just up the road.

This place was the Best . Walking distance to every great restaurant. The hotel was superior in value. Best Beach . Immaculate rooms. I have been going to Barbados for thirty years. I will only stay here in my future visits.

We’ve visited Barbados several times in the last few years, and was married there in June. We returned for a brief (child free!) honeymoon. On arrival, we were greeted with a decorated room and champagne. The room (no.16) was large with a great ocean view. My favourite thing was the rainfall shower. It was useful to have the small kitchen, although we mainly ate out.
The eateries nearby range from basic, wholesome food (Just Grillin’) to the high end (The Tides, where we had one of the best meals ever!) Zaccios is just downstairs, and it’s the perfect spot to watch the sun go down whilst sipping Happy Hour cocktails. The food here is good, with large portions.
We usual hire a car for the whole trip, but we only hired for the last two days as so much was within walking distance. We took the bus to Speightstown and enjoyed a lunch at the Fishersman’s Pub.

As described in details. Good basic apartment. Air con worked well which helps when its 32C. Apartments block next to pool which is next to beach. Turtles swimming in sea near by.Room had basic facilities - Microwave, hob, Fridge/freezer, TV, Aircon. Few cooking utensils. Balcony overlooking pool and sea (great sunsets).Location good as in Holetown with Supermarket across the road (pricey). Bus stop outside apartment block (to Bridgetown). Local buses are fun and cheap - 2 Barbados dollars per head for any length of single trip. Several restaurants in easy walking distance.Room Clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. Had two linked room so Kids had own room.Cons: Sound proofing between rooms not great but did not cause an issue.Would recommend as affordable self catering option.
