It was a nice stay amidst the beautiful landscape. Convenient location to the west end, west bay beach etc. There is a beach at the walkable distance. Owner Cheryl was very helpful in providing all the information and served with a very delicious breakfast in the morning. She was very knowledgeable person and provided insights to different places in and around the area to visit. Had a very nice time chatting with her. There is a very beautiful and clean swimming pool right in front of the cafe. It was overall a very positive experience for me. I would definitely recommend the stay here and would come back with family next time when I visit Roatan.

Hidden gem, everything was good...

Our stay at Guava Grove was amazing. The location was convenient and the grounds were beautiful. The room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant had a great cooked breakfast and an overall varied and delicious menu. I never had a meal that I didn’t enjoy. Cheryl also happily catered to my dietary needs.
The owner Cheryl was simply amazing, making time to talk, give us advice about our daily plans and going out of her way to help provide us with a great vacation.
I would absolutely recommend a stay at Guava Grove.

Perfect stay and just a 2 min walk to amazing snorkeling in Sandy Bay. Delicious food, refreshing pool. $2 minibus ride to West End for more food options or just eat at one of the two restaurants on the beach. Thank you Cheryl and staff.

This review is based on fact that the property refused to reset my reservation without having to pay the full price which I had already paid after a major schedule change for my trip.

We loved staying at the guava grove … the owner & staff go above & beyond to make sure your stay is relaxing . The grounds are beautiful & well kept , we loved sitting out & listening to birds & enjoying beautiful property. It is nice & quiet there in Sandy bay @guava grove . pool is refreshing & food is delicious. They have the best fries cooked in coconut oil . Can’t wait to return to guava grove .. already missing the girls there & new friends we made

Great budget accomodation with great staff, lovely pool and nice little restaurant. Awesome wild parrots out back each evening!

Good: everyone is very nice. Allowed me to hang out before check-in time, which is 3pm.
Good breakfast. Nice garden.
AC, hot water. Drinking water in the room.
Not so good:
Late check-in (3pm).
There's no fridge as advertised.
Not wood floor as in the description. At least not my room.
Expensive snorkel gear rental ($15, $8 without fins).
The beach is not a 2 minute stroll. Maybe 6-7 minute walk over a highway and onto a dusty road. I was bitten by a dog. Lots of dogs will bark at you, but they are inside the fences. This one (with collar) was out.

Great location, close to restaurants and West End. Clean room, daily cleaning (except holiday), and safe/quiet area.

One of the most delightful, personable, comfortable places I have ever been. The staff is so warm and welcoming. They remember everyone’s name. Get to know what you like. The rooms are cozy and beautifully clean. The food is superb! Cheryl is the owner who makes sure all guests are happy. She’ll even take you snorkeling in the sea for a glimpse of colorful fish and one of the most important reefs in the world. Honestly I really didn’t want to leave and started calling Guava Grove my home. That’s the vibe here!

When you go to Roatan, you think about spending time close to the beach, enjoying the sun, walking on the sand, snorkeling and many other activities you can experience; but you don’t have to be on a place on the beach to enjoy all that. You can be on a paradisiaque place on the mountain an have a fantastic experience.
Guava Grove is the place. The beaches a Roatan are always crowded and staying on a place that is located within a walking distance (5 minutes away) of the beach with a personnel dedicated to make you enjoy your stay it’s just a wonderful experience. Guava Grove is located in Sandy Beach, relatively close to West End and West Bay that are the most popular beaches in the area. You can go there by public transportation and it’s cheap. This place is very clean and you can enjoy the quietness of the night and the singing of the birds in the morning.
Guava Grove is the best place to enjoy your vacations!!

Roatan is a beautiful place. We had a wonderful stay at Guava Grove Resort in Sandy Bay. The villa was clean and supplied well with incredible gardens. This was our second stay at Guava Grove and this time we invited family. We were able to boat ride the mangroves again , stop at the Hole in the Wall and the Sunday street party in Porta Gordo. We also relaxed around the pool and munched on amazing food and the tranquility of the place. We swam and enjoyed the company of Cheryl (our host), the staff and other guest. Guava's proximity to the beach is an easy walk and close to other dive resorts and restaurants and is a real asset. It's a quick ride down the road to West End and West Bay is just a little bit further. We usually take a water taxi to West Bay from West End for a beautiful ride. Both times we stayed Cheryl brought in local entertainment who were just fantastic. Hanging around the pool listening to music and enjoying the company made for great memories. I highly recommend Guava Grove to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Roatan.

The worse place. This places isn’t. resort. It seems more like a trailer park with a pool or an old apartment complex. I arrived there nobody knew where was the hobby neither the hotel receptionist to check in. After waiting with no results if fining lobby or employee. I decided to go find another hotel . I waste my money because I had payed in hotel.com.

Chill place to stay, fantastic staff and owner
We stayed just for a night - my wife, 2 kiddos and I - before moving on to our final destination for diving nearby.
Very relaxing property. We stayed in a big unit with couple of bedrooms and kids each had their own bed which was fantastic. Full kitchen, seating etc, wish we had taken a few more days there to just relax. A/C in the bedrooms was great. Pool was nice, deep end was 10ft and shallow end had swim up bar - quite refreshing. Lush property with beautiful fauna. Not on the water but not too far from the beach, you had a view or the ocean frommour terrace.
Food was quite nice and smoothies were excellent. Staff were fantastic, it was slow so we had time to chat and the told us a lot about the island, in particular Alex and owner Cheryl. Next time we will do a tour with alex.
We were set to write a good review anyway, but it didnt hurt that when my daughter left her teddy bear in the room they brought it to our resort and checked in after to make sure it got to us.
We will be back and recommend to our friends.

We were absolutely amazed by this property. Everything was neat, clean and organized. Our hosts were super attentive, helpful and committed to making our stay memorable. The room was perfect and the property was in an ideal location. Walking distance to the beach. The pool was amazing and the food/drinks were delicious. Cheryl was an encyclopedia of island knowledge and always available to help us.
Even her staff were friendly and happy to work there. Looking forward to our next stay at G.G.

Cheryl and her entire staff were, and probably still are, fantastic. Everyone was friendly and extremely accommodating. The food was delicious and everything was as it should be. If you are looking to unwind and relax while being close enough to take a 5 min taxi to the bars and a 5 min walk to the beach this is your spot. Don’t forget to use Alex for some tour stuff while your there. He can show you all the good stuff. I would absolutely stay with this crew again!

The owner and operator Cheryl Grant is amazing and when you go to visit it is like going to visit your friend at her house. She makes you feel welcome immediately and will do anything to help keep you comfortable

The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice balcony with soft chairs.

Guava Grove is a 5 minute walk to the beach and several restaurants. Bus and taxi gets you into town. Nice pool area with sun , shade, friendly people.

Loved our stay here! Owner and staff are amazing, they go above and beyond! Room was great, clean. Prime spot, close to West End to go hang out but perfect for a quiet night.

Limited signage for reception. No communication about amenities within the resort. Had people knocking on our door during a nap wanting to check in. No TV and restaurant closed for ALL meals including "free" breakfast. Not a good experience....

The hotel is situated nicely for those who wish to be in a quiet location. It has a nice pool and is very close to Sandy Bay and several dive shops there. There is a large supermarket a few minutes by car down the road, and West End is a short cab or car ride away. No issues with wifi and the food is good. If you are looking to be in the heart of the action of West Bay or West End then this is not for you. If you want a nice peaceful not fancy place to stay, this fits the bill. Also, Cheryl is a good source for recommendations, so feel free to ask.

Cheryl was an excellent host. She was always on top of any request from checking to checkout she was always available for questions and or suggestions. Her suggestions about places to see and things to do were spot on. Her place is very quite and relaxing. I will go back any time. Highly recommend this place.

This wa shuts the place for me. Quiet, small enough that you can meet all the guests, fun because of the swimup pool and all the folks who come for a swim, a meal and/or drinks. There is live music at least once a week. The location in Sandy Bay is close to west bay, via taxi or collective, and a 2 minute walk to a very nice quiet beach. Also walking distance are other restaurants, dive shops, a full service spa. The food is cooked to order and incredibly fresh. They have fresh guava, mango, hog plum, papaya and coconut growing on property and the fruits are used to make smoothies on a daily basis. The staff (Sandra, Nouri and Alex) and the owner Cheryl are warm welcoming and very hard working. They will do all they can to make your stay a great one. I’m very excited to make my return trip this May, and I’ll be staying at Guava Grove Resort and Villas again.
