The lively Fan District, often simply called The Fan, is centered on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus, where the Altria Theater hosts concerts and plays. The area is dotted with grand Queen Anne-style homes and Tudor Revival mansions, including the Branch Museum of Architecture and Design, which offers tours. Old-time barbershops and Cuban restaurants line the streets, alongside bars with live music.
Colorful Carytown is a bohemian district centered around a stretch of West Cary Street, with indie boutiques, record stores, and vintage emporiums. Operating since 1928, the Byrd Theater screens movies in opulent surroundings.
Museum District also known as Upper Fan, the compact Museum District is home to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, with works by Picasso and Fabergé. Nearby, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture houses exhibits on state heritage in an elegant neoclassical building. Brick row homes and detached townhouses in hues of spearmint, navy, and yellow line the streets, and old-growth trees and bold street murals add further color.

This location is perfect for walking and easy to find your way around. However, there are other options to get around that are convenient. Although I didn’t stay long, I had a wonderful stay. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The location was great as were the amenities. And I really appreciated the communication with my host. I will surely stay again.

We rented this place as it had a fenced yard that we hoped a small dog could use. The grassy space shown in photo was muddy & there was limited grass. Otherwise, the unit was clean & hosts provided snacks & wine. There were 3 adults. The double bed/couchwas convenient but uncomfortable

I felt very safe and it was really easy to navigate Richmond. No city noise at night.

Easy to find & such an overall simple, clean experience. The bed was so comfortable & we really appreciated the additional snacks & refreshments! Parking was easy to find right in front of the property, plenty of delicious food options nearby, and we were only going to stay one night before setting out for the second part of our roadtrip, so it was just perfect for a short & convenient stay.

What a perfect little spot! I was a little wary upon first booking, but this place was EXACTLY as advertised and had everything you could possibly need. Owners even left a cute & thought out welcome gift! No complaints and will definitely return. Thank you for a great visit!!

My daughter and I were so extremely pleased with our the "little bungalow" and it was so cutely decorated. The host was absolutely excellent. We like that she has a security camera installed outside as well. Awesome location !! Absolutely the easiest owner to answer our questions in such a timely fashion. Best of luck to you in getting more travelers.

My spouse, two dogs and I stayed here while in town for a concert. We loved being so close to a main strip with tons of shops and restaurants. The space was cozy and having a full kitchen was great. Our dogs loved having a yard to run around. The owners were very hospitable and communicative, we would definitely stay again!

This unit was great! Had everything. Only two suggestions: 1) full length wall mirror and 2) antenna for tv to watch local channels. Bed was comfortable, temperature was easy to control. Kitchen was great. Nice yard for our dog. And the location was the best around! Hosts were responsive and helpful. You’ll like this place a lot!

This is a studio that backs up to Cary St. & a lot of resturants & stores are within walking distance. However, it is very noisy & always had someone coming or going. They were doing construction on the front house & used the gate by our door to come & go on a regular basis. Not relaxing, private or quiet. Also, not enough hot water for more than one shower. And they need something over the main door,so when it is raining you don't get soaked trying to get in the place.

Clean and comfortable enough. There were a few supplies that were missing from the normal line up. We had one wine glass (no other glasses) one knife, one full bath towel and 2 hand towels ( this was eventually remedied). No paper towels to get us started. A broom would be helpful as well, the lovely treed yard produced a lot of leaves that traveled into the cottage , we picked them up by hand. All things considered it was just right for the great weather that we enjoyed.
