About this house rental
Award winning architect designed this brand new casita. Breathtaking ocean views from every space. Private dipping pool overlooks the ocean. One bedroom, kingsize bed, kitchen, bathroom with shower. High-speed fiber optic internet with 200MB download and up to 100 MB upload wifi . 5 minute minute walk to beach and downtown.
Sayulita topography is hilly. It descends down into the village and beach which is flat. To get a great view of the ocean or jungle you either have to climb a hill, or be on the ocean front which is much more expensive. My casas are up a short (50 meter) but steep driveway. If you have disabilities that make walking difficult this is probably not the right place for you. They overlook the village below and the ocean beyond. We are right in the village but above it. You can walk to the village or beach in 5 minutes. Because of the height, you have a sweeping view of the ocean and always a fresh breeze coming off the ocean. That is what makes it worth the walk up the hill. Sayulita is a festive and noisy village. There are always fiestas, music, and parades. Since Covid ended last year we have an influx of highly accomplished musicians from a bar close by, you will hear some of the best jazz, blues, salsa, and rock. On the weekends they crank up the music louder. If you are a light sleeper or need to block out the sound, bring ear plugs, or you can use a white noise fan aid from YouTube. If your earphones connect to the smart phone, the white noise fan should solve the problem. I live in a mixed neighborhood of American and Mexican nationals. Our Mexican neighbors have chickens and roosters. If you are a light sleeper I suggest bringing ear plugs. The great majority of guests are not bothered by the sounds of Sayulita. My casas are constructed with organic and traditional Mexican architecture in mind. From marble and vintage tile, or clay tile floors to palapa roofs (depending which casa).
When I am here you may always text me or stop in to ask questions or seek help. When I am out of town my property manager, Jose is here to help. Please let us know when you need more purified water, toilet paper, soap, or garbage bags.
The best part of Casita Del Mar is its close approximation to the center of town and the beach, just a 5 minute walk to the center of the village where the restaurants are. The beach is the same distance. We are so close to town yet very private because we're up on a hill and over looking it all. If you're looking for a nice super private and romantic place but close to the action, Casitas del Mar will not disappoint.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Casita Del Mar #5. The proximity to the beach is great, and walkable to anywhere within town (we got by all week without a golf car / transportation). The privacy of the unit was nice, the dipping pool enjoyable & provided much needed cool-off(s) each day, and Greg's (host) communication was always very responsive. Greg ensured our needs were met in advance & during our stay, and he even got safety lighting replaced the same-day after a recent storm. I appreciated that the unit had a full water jug at our disposal, along with all the other kitchen/cooking necessities. One could be completely self-sustaining with the kitchen that the unit provided (outdoors). We'd definitely stay at Casita Del Mar again!

I’ve been to Sayulita many times and like to be able to walk everywhere without a problem. This property was such an ideal location - it took us less than 10 minutes to be in the middle of town, yet it was still private and quiet and had an unreal view. This is perfect place for solo travelers or couples who don’t need a bunch of frills. We loved and already plan to come back!

Such a unique place to stay. Location close to everything, minutes from beach and restaurants. Tropical, private setting and the pool was perfect. Spacious bathroom and the bed is quite comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Greg!

To the uninitiated, Sayulita can be tough to decode particularly looking at prices VS amenities.
Views: This is a place with a great view and is reasonably priced. There is a steep driveway to ascend but if you are young and/or have a golf cart. Get a cart for your stay in this town and it will be a better experience.
Location: This is a 5 minute walk to the square and about 7 minutes to the most populated beach.
It’s also close to Playa de Muertos which is the best swimming beach for kids. So, this is a real plus but there is a bit of noise at night and earplugs are a good idea.
Property. This is a studio apartment so it’s all you will need for 1-2 persons. It’s clean. Air Conditioning works well although we did not need it in March.
The wifi is good.
The Owner. There were a couple of minor items to address when we got here but, Greg, the Owner was great to work with and got them taken care of pronto. If you have an issue, tell him and you’ll be impressed.
The Pool. It’s a tiny solar plunge pool
so don’t plan on doing laps. Also, it’s on the colder side in the shoulder months.
This is a great choice for those who want to be close to the action but want a bit of a retreat.
