About this house rental
The Village Bungalow is a sweet cottage/bungalow located in a quaint neighborhood, just off of Main Street in the Victorian Village of Ferndale. The bungalow is a separate guesthouse with a private entrance, reserved parking, yard access, kitchenette, and full bathroom. Spend your days hiking among the giants in the redwood forest. Take a 10 minute scenic drive through pasture land to the rugged pacific coastline. Or simply step out your door and take a short walk uptown to enjoy our small town: art gallery, coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping!
We allow small to medium sized dogs with prior approval.
We strive to make the bungalow a comfortable & relaxing environment, with all the amenities of home, including a queen size bed, wi-fi, and TV with a Roku device. Some of our local favorite items are waiting for you upon your arrival!

We loved our stay here. Clean, cozy place, comfortable bed, beautiful gardens to use, would have liked a table for eating. TV trays worked but worried about spilling them. Strictly for two guests.

We were lucky enough to find this treasure three years ago when looking for a place to stay while attending the Lost Coast Dog Shows.
The Bungalow has everything one could need for a pleasurable stay. The bed is comfortable and the whole house, impeccably decorated and very clean.
Highlight of stay is sitting outside watching the beautiful cows out in the pastures. Very entertaining and relaxing.

We stayed here 2 years ago, under different ownership, but it is as though nothing has changed. The Bungalow is a comfortable place to stay, with wonderful views of the pastures across the lane. Hoping to return again. Thank you Joe & Alexa.

This small bungalow is perfect for a short stay in Ferndale. The setting is beautiful, and the decor celebrates the owner's real business, dairy farming, including a bottle of chocolate whole milk made with their product. It is just a short walk to the downtown, and that let's you see the variety of Victorian style homes and buildings that make this a special place.

The bungalow is very cute and very quiet, but very small. It's a 5 or 10 minute walk to the commercial part of Main Street, where there are restaurants and shops (we had good coffee and a couple of excellent panini at Mind's Eye, where it looks like they teach canoe-making in the back). Alexa was very responsive and accommodating.
But there were enough weirdnesses about the bungalow that it made us think it was a little neglected -- little things, like: there's an espresso machine but only 1 espresso cup; there's a regular coffee maker but only like a tablespoon (literally) of coffee for it; you are asked to clean any dishes you use but are not provided with a sponge to do so; the guest book said there were sample chocolates from a local guy, but we didn't find any; etc.
And why not provide some kind of cooking surface? The top-rated counter-top induction burner is like $150 bucks.
I often wish rental owners would spend a night in their rentals, just to see what their guests are experiencing, and this is one of those times.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick one night stay as we were driving down the coast from Seattle to Sonoma. The host was so sweet, accommodating and responsive. The location was perfect - walkable to the Main Street area and exactly as described/pictured online. Would definitely stay again!

Well maintained and comfortable bungalow. Perfect for two people. Coffee provided and clean kitchen amenities. Alexa was very friendly and easy to contact. We would definitely stay there again if we ever return to Ferndale.

This is a cute, quiet little place to stay, easy to find, relaxing, and very safe. We enjoyed it. Sheets, blankets, towels and kitchen cabinets were plentiful. We took food with us to fill the fridge. Planned to use the microwave and toaster oven, but toaster oven didn't work, so those meals had to be nixed (really hoping it's replaced before we return). Also hoping for regular brand dish soap and the TV to be larger or lower on wall...wow!!! Otherwise, we're planning to stay again. (Not just for the delicious bottle of Alexandre chocolate milk in the fridge, but that might be tempting enough to bring us back next time, too! We heated it up and had hot chocolate!!!)

The apartment was so cozy and clean. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the little faux fireplace heater was charming. We loved being next to the fields with a view of the trees and forest. Would highly recommend!

This was our second stay at the Village Bungalow while attending the Lost Coast Kennel Club dog show. A real gem, well appointed and very clean and comfortable. Best of all is the peaceful neighborhood which was very welcome after spending long days at the Fairgrounds.

We had a memorable time at this quaint Village Bungalow. The ease of entrance was so helpful in this more rural area - there was even a string of lights highlighting the parking space. Then a simple walkway to the cottage entrance. Alexa was so wonderful. The. heater/fireplace was thoughtfully lit upon our arrival. We could easily take bikes from this location to the features on Main St. The bed was soft and comfortable, and there was a cozy seating area for two. We greatly enjoyed the location near picturesque Ferndale and the hospitality of our host/hostess.

Clean, well organized and good communication.
And Ferndale is a hidden gem to get away from it all. And centrally located for beach, redwoods.

We spent two nights at the bungalow and thoroughly enjoyed it!
The location was great for walking into Ferndale. The host had left some local Ferndale products for our enjoyment and the coffee machine is excellent
We couldn’t think of anything more that we needed during our stay.
We will definitely look to booking this property again in the future when we travel to Northern California to visit relatives. .
