I am always hesitant when I hear "farm house" because it can run the gamut, but Ten Springs Farm has it done right ! Beautiful renovation with comfortable and well appointed modern amenities. 5 adults and one dog had a wonderful stay. There are a few trails right around the property that allowed us to get out and about after a long drive. Host was very welcoming and thoughtful with a gift basket and waffle batter ! I would highly recommend.

My family and I all enjoyed our stay. Our party consisted of my immediate family of six adults and three children under 3. We were in town for a family member’s wedding and had a very busy schedule with little downtime. The property was very accommodating and suited our needs. The only drawback is the owner lives in an attached apartment and will involve himself in your stay at every opportunity from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. He, his sister, and his partner were all very kind and hospitable, but staying here is more like staying with your distant relative who is keeping tabs on your whereabouts than a private vacation rental.

We really enjoyed the stay, close to Bolton Valley and Smuggler’s Notch. Bob was a terrific host! The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, including a bottle of wine and waffles! The cool book collection was an added treat. The place has a really nice mid-century meets farmhouse style. It was great to be able to walk outside directly onto the XC ski trails. A hike to the top of Mt. Mansfield rounded out the long weekend. Definitely hope to come back.

We had a great stay. Friendly hosts, beautiful view, handy kitchen and comfortable beds. Ellie the dog was thrilled to walk in the fields nearby.

We have been looking for a home away from home where we can base ourselves on visits to our son who homesteads nearby. We have a well behaved 18 month old dog who joins us when we travel, we love to hike, bike and be outdoors, and we love to cook at home and gather around the kitchen table. This home was a perfect match to these needs and interests. There are cows who graze in the fields abutting the back yard and viewable from the big windows on the first floor. So, just be aware of this if your dog will feel compelled to bark in response to their presence. Our dog did not bark when visiting with them near the fence, he simply was often be eager to get outside to visit once he eyeballed them. There are blinds that allow one to block the view when helpful and we found that took care of things when our dog became over enthusiastic about their presence. Access to hiking all over the Underhill/Smugglers side of Mount Mansfield is fantastic as house is situated in close proximity to Mountain Road and Stevensville Road trail heads and parking. Road cycling and mountain biking is gorgeous in this area. Road cyclists with tires suited to some dirt and light gravel will allow for the best back roads to be included in your routes. Beds are very comfortable, kitchen is well stocked, and house is very eco friendly in its management which we deeply appreciated. The hosts are wonderful and we are eager to return soon. We have indeed found the home away from home we were looking for.

We chose Ten Springs farm due to its location; being about 15 minutes from my son’s house. We were in Vermont for his wedding. It turned out to be a lovely property with large picture windows framing the most idyllic view of the hills, trees and even a couple cows. It was very peaceful. We actually couldn’t sleep there but had our other adult children and one grandchild stay as my husband had developed mobility issues that kept us from being able to use upstairs bedrooms. The owners were wonderful about answering our questions as we had to deal with the unexpected problem with lodgings. We spent our days there. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the mid-century modern vibe.
