Very happy with this property. The house was just as described in photos and listing. We found the property to be extremely clean and everything worked as it should.
Enjoyed the quality of the supplied linens, amenity kits and other little things like branded coffee and little cooler, etc that were included.
Great job, would not hesitate to stay here again!

Great house for a small group! The kitchen is very small so isn’t ideal for a large group. The beds were not the most comfortable, but worked fine for our group. The kids enjoyed the pool table and kayaks! The stairs to the floating dock should be secured or changed to something a little more safe. The furniture on the decks could be updated and the fire pit is located in the front of the house. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to have some nicer chairs around the Fire pit. Overall, we were happy, but you can definitely tell you’re in an older home!

The house was wonderful and very clean, especially for being a dog friendly home. No dog smells or hair anywhere. The perfect amount of space for two family’s and two dogs. Plenty of toiletries. The only thing we would have a minor complaint about was how very high the grass was when we first arrived. They did come cut on our last full day there and it was so much better. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home for a little bit!!

This was the perfect place for our vacation with another family. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and the basement was great for the tweens. We all had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place close to town and amenities.

Easy to get to and everything close by. Some things could have been better. Sent an e-mail to the rental company with list of items that would make folks stay better.

This property was exactly what we needed. Nothing fancy but everything that was needed. The deck and outdoor stairs are a bit rough for bare feet, and shoes are recommended to a wood splinters, but we loved eating outside and having the access to the water! Highly recommend this house!

The house was well appointed, clean, and inviting. We felt the outdoor photos were misleading as the property is very steep, with less lawn than depicted. The house advertised as accommodating up to 10, although the dining table did not seat that number. Our party, however, enjoyed our stay greatly.

We had a great 3 night stay at Lighthouse Landing! The house was well stocked with everything we needed for 3 families (6 adults, 4 kids and an infant). Communication with host was great. Spacious living room and lots of spaces to hang out outside, we spent most time on the dock, swimming and kayaking. Great location close to marina and grocery stores, but also on a quiet street.
Only improvements would be to stain or upgrade the upstairs deck (I was worried about splinters with lots of little feet), and new shower curtains. Other than the shower curtains the place was very clean!
Would stay again. Thank you!

Everything was perfect, the house was a great size and had all the supplies, dishes, etc you would need. The clean linens and extra personal touches make a difference. Any questions I had we got an answer right away. Additionally the location is great, we loved being close to Bridgewater Plaza and the having the Food Lion right down the road. We would definitely recommend and return to this house if in the area again.

A great place to stay and relax in the house or water. This house offered so much for a lake getaway, will definitely be booking another stay when in the area.

The house was very clean, as advertised, and well stocked, especially with outdoor/swimming items. It was spacious and comfortable for all 3 generations. The dock and lake are close to the house, which was a great convenience. We really enjoyed the dock/swimming, although there is no shade after 12 Noon.
We would love to return.

Nicely decorated and a well cared-for house and yard. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio with a great view of the lake. The house had everything we needed for our 3 day family reunion. Comfortable beds. Quiet neighborhood.

This was the perfect VRBO for SML. The house was well stocked with essentials so we didn't have to make an immediate grocery run and was very central to the Rte 122 bridge but still in a cove so boat traffic was low. An excellent neighbor even brought over delicious homemade wine, we will be back next time we come to SML.

After spending my first two week vacation in NC caring for COVID ill family members, I decided on a mulligan vacation. Unfortunately, I only had 6 days but at least the 6 days were really nice. This house is as it is described on the site. There was plenty of space for the 8 of us. The kitchen is a bit tight. Best if one to two people are in it at one time. Otherwise, the three full bathrooms were plenty for all of us. The pool table got some use and the kitchen table was perfect for cards and other night time games. We used the grill without incident and would have used the fire pit but just ran out of time. The lake access was great. Having stairs instead of just a hill to climb to access the lake is a great move as we have older people in our group. I would suggest a railing on one side of the steps though. It's super quiet off the main congested areas of the lake. There are several areas to sit and relax at the house. With and without shade. However you want it. We rented a boat and a jet ski and used the owners kayaks. The lake water was perfect. Everything really was great. The grocery store was close. The marina directly across the lake has some nice little shops and restaurants. One sold the BEST fudge I've ever had. Really great mulligan vacation - even if it was only 6 days!! I would definitely go back to the light house house!

We enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and friendly. The outside downstair porch with the chairs and sofas and cushions was a must sit and chill place.

The beds had crumbs or sand in them. The comforters in the twin room were dirty and they stuffed random blankets inside of a duvet that did not fit properly and slid all around. The majority of us were bitten by fleas in our beds. I saw one jumping on my bed in the basement. The owner was very inconsiderate. The day before checkout the power in the home shut off due to a storm. My elderly mother with a severe heart condition was with us. She has a heart machine that requires power. We decided to check out a day early because she was not feeling well and her heart machine could not be powered due to the power being out. We asked for the owner to reimburse us for the final night. He refused and told us it was an act of God and out of his control. The location is a bit sketchy. The homes nearby are rundown and in poor condition. This house needs some TLC and a good power washing on the outside. The front porch light was completely out and very dark at night. It is on the lake which is great, but I would not recommend this home. The refrigerator was dirty when we arrived. The burners on the stove were off balance and only a couple worked. There is zero pantry space and the kitchen is tiny. If you don’t mind staying in an old, dated house that isn’t very clean, then you will be okay with this place. If you appreciate a place that is fresh and clean, do NOT stay here.

First time back to Smith Mountain Lake in years and it was great. House was in a perfect location for active family and convenient to everything. Layout of house was great and views of lake were perfect.

Two easy fixes need attention. 1. Porch umbrella needs to be able to be screwed down. Umbrella flew away 3 times in only slightly breezy weather. 2. Float ladder first step not very functional - extremely difficult for phyically challenged person.

We needed a last minute rental for a family wedding . This property is in a great location..near The Bridge...and our family really enjoyed all the amenities..pool table, water activities, etc. We will return as all of our family lives at the lake.

We really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again. The property was even nicer than the photos. Comfortable beds. Very tranquil but close to restaurants for food. Rented boat nearby.

My one regret was as soon as I walked in I wished we had rented the property for earlier in the week, in spite of the fact that our schedule didn't allow for it.
The house was spotless, nicely decorated, well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to have our dogs with us, which made it even better. The pool table was one of the best I've ever played on. Loved the dock and the view of the lake.
Please update your knives--they are not sharp at all and maede dinner-prep quite the chore. Not fun when you're on vacations.
Will rent again if the timing is right.
Heads-up for potential renters...we paid more in fees than the nightly rental. That was a bit of a surprise, so before you commit make sure to check out the list of things you're being charged for.

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful sunsets, comfy beds and furniture. The only thing that wasn’t as expected was the fire pit which is steeply uphill from the house where I had interpreted from the pictures that it was on a flatter front lawn. It’s a lovely place!! Thank you for sharing it!

Lighthouse Landing is a wonderfully appointed home and property! It was very clean and cozy and perfect for a realxing weekend away. The views of the lake are beautiful especially will the Fall foliage. We will definitely book this property again the the future!

Location on the lake was great for a getaway. Kids did school work during the week virtually and enjoyed the lake in the evenings. Just watch for all the fees included with booking, especially through VRBO. Enjoyable time.

Lovely property, house was perfect for our family, surrounding trees kept the deck in shade almost all day, Cove quiet enough to be peaceful yet still close enough to 'busier' water for kids to enjoy watching boats and skiers. Not a good yard to play in because of slopes but that did not effect our vacation at all, water was the focus. The incline and proximity to the water is easier and closer than what we expected from photos, nice surprise! Would recommend!

It was a family getaway. Ages ranged 1 to 85. Wish we had known to bring a baby gate for the stairs, but otherwise, a great house. Close to grocery store and pretty easy access to lake.
