This modern, four-bedroom home balances luxury with fun and leisure for the whole family. It is a beautiful setting for a secluded family vacation. You'll be hard pressed to find anything that matches what this property has to offer.
Most exclusively, you'll have your own large PRIVATE BEACH with beach chairs and umbrella. You'll have your own PRIVATE DOCK with sitting table, as well as a separate lounge area where you can enjoy a secluded cove that looks directly onto the open lake. This means you get a specular view without any public water-craft traffic nearby. Use of the dock for personal watercraft is available upon request.
The home offers a huge, open and very WELL-EQUIPPED KITCHEN with upgraded appliances, including a separate ICE MACHINE. There are spices and a variety of oils; everything you need for cooking meals. We have pots and pans, a crock pot and an insta pot, and a large stock pot. For coffee lovers, there is a Keurig and French Press, as well as a conventional coffee maker. We do supply coffee, however, feel free to bring your favorite blend!
We also supply all your paper products; Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Napkins, Kleenex, Trash Bags, Dishwasher detergent, Laundry detergent; all are reasonably supplied for you convenience!
The kitchen opens to an adjoining SPACIOUS LIVING AREA that looks directly onto the cove/lake, and is a wonderful place to relax in and of itself. It also offers an excellent indoor gathering spot for family games, music sing-alongs, or quiet reading. Of the four bedrooms, one is on the main first level, and three are located on the lower level. The two king bedrooms are very large and spacious with plenty of room for a playpen and not feel cramped, while the remaining two bedrooms offer plenty of space as well.

We have been taking our family vacation for 6 years at the beautiful OBX home. I can’t say enough. It is just a small piece of paradise. The house is perfect and offers everything you could want. The beach is a great place for the little ones to play and the adults to relax. Our grandkids enjoy fishing off the dock. Plenty of water toys to keep the entire family busy.
Tim and Michelle are just wonderful people. They truly care about their guest and want everything to be just perfect for them.

This home has everything and more that you could ever need or want on vacation! It has all the amenities - kayaks, paddleboards, floats, hot tub, games, ping pong, pool, etc. The kitchen is well stocked. Home was spotless. The owners, Tim and Michelle, attention to detail in evident in every area of the house. They respond immediately with any questions you may have. I can't say enough about this beautiful vacation home. This is our third time staying here and we hope to come back!

The house matches all the previous reviews for sure, with every appliance, gadget, toy, dish, and convenience at your fingertips. Every room has plenty of space for large family gatherings and the hosts are incredibly responsive and kind. My family has been renting on the lake for a decade and this is among the very best we've seen.

This is our fifth year staying here and it never disappoints! The space is perfect and you went for nothing while you are there! The hosts are incredibly gracious and have thought of everything! We highly recommend and are already looking forward to year 6!!

House is huge and open with a great view. The beach feels like you’re in Florida taking in some sun, water is clean and clear, and it’s just a great place to relax and have fun. They even had little labels on items that helped locate other items or hints on how to use the item (for example, how to connect to the Bose speaker upstairs). The hosts were very communicative. My mother-in-law stated “This is the best rental we’ve stayed in” and she means anywhere. We will be back.

The property was wonderful. The owners, Tim and Michelle were very quick to respond to all our questions. There was enough room to accommodate our entire party of 8 adults and 1 toddler. The high chair and the play yard gate was appreciated as we used both. Our family especially love the extra large table. We found the dock to be enjoyable. There were many lounging chairs and other seating available on the dock. There was also a large assortment of floats and tubes available. The beach had several kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards which we enjoyed using. The house is very well appointed and we appreciated the refrigerated drawers in the island and the separate ice bin. Appliances, cookware, etc was easy to find. We especially appreciated that one cabinet near the windows was empty so that we could store the food and items we bought for the week. I took advantage and rode one of the bikes. There are several to choose from in the garage. The is also a tire pump if needed. Members of my family enjoyed the hot tub and and the outside fire pits. We would definitely stay here again!

We had the best time for the week at this gorgeous home. The kids LOVED the beach and spent hours down there each day. The kitchen was incredible and had every single possible cooking utensil and toy you could want. The home was so clean, quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped. We really appreciated not having to bring baby gear along as the home had both a high chair and pack and play. Lastly, Tim and Michelle were LOVELY. Very detailed in all instructions and clearly cared a lot about how we were doing during our stay. We hope to return again!

This house is simply amazing!!!! The owners are so incredibly kind, accommodating, informative, and quick to respond with any questions you might have! We would love to visit again the next time we are in Va! We were visiting for our daughter's graduation...(Liberty University) and it was perfect to have a home away from all the crowds in Lynchburg.
Views are breathtaking...they have thought of every amenity you might want or need, even towel warmers after a shower!
There was only one VERY minor complaint and that is having to put sheets on the bed, but I understand bc it's probably very difficult getting this large house cleaned in the amount of time they have in a turn around rental.

This was our second visit. The house is incredible. Open concept and tons of space for our family. The downstairs living area provides large couches, hundreds of DVDs, board games, ping pong, billiards, video game. Etc…. We enjoyed the kayaks and stand up paddle boards on the lake and the fire pits at night. Tim and Michelle are excellent hosts who communicate regularly. Our son dropped his iPhone in the lake and Tim connected us with a local diver who retrieved it the next day and mailed it to us 7 hours away (and it works!!). We look forward to renting again in the future. Such a fun home!!!

The house was beautiful and the hosts had thought of pretty much every detail. They had everything you could want there and more. The welcome gift was a great touch, and our family really enjoyed all the kayaks, paddle boards, and outdoor games.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday! The private beach, climber and pedal boat were huge hits with our boys. The property was spotless and had everything we could have needed, and then some - spectacular views of the lake included! We loved every minute of our stay. Perfect location for families with small children. The beach area is amazing! So much to do to keep you busy throughout your stay with the paddle boards, kayaks, games, etc! Our family has been staying at the OBX for several years now and we couldn’t be happier!!!! Tim and Michelle are very gracious and make you feel right at home.
So much to do. We bring our boat but during the early morning and evening hours the kids are paddling all over the lake and the little kids play on the beach. New this year was a mat for the water which also kept the kids busy.
The dock and beach are very peaceful areas to watch the sunrise and sunset.
I could go on and on but, just know you will not be disappointed at the OBX at SML.
We are already looking forward to next year.

This was the second time staying on this property. This time as the last time provided us with a great week. The house is perfect, well supplied, and very comfortable. The beach made it very easy for our 9 year old and the kayakers enjoyed getting into the boats from the beach. Very easy working with the landlords.

Our family stayed here for our daughter's graduation from LUCOM and the house was perfect for our large group. The owners were very responsive to our questions. Our family met up for Easter weekend coming from NJ, DC, Virginia Tech, and flying in from Notre Dame. It was the perfect spot. We have spent many vacations in vrbo homes and this was by far our favorite accommodation. The house had everything we could possibly need and more! The kids loved the pool table, ping pong, board games, hot tub, tandem bikes, and kayaks. We had a weekend full of adventures and laughter! Tim and Michelle communicated with us during our visit to make sure everything was exactly as expected. We hope to visit again!

The house, the setting, the amenities, the weather, and our gracious hosts made this a perfect after Easter getaway. The views were exquisite. We had so much fun with the kayaks and paddle boards. This is by far the best SML lake house we have ever visited. As advertised the house is well stocked (paper products, soap etc) and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. High end appliances and furnishings yet comfortable for families with children. Wonderful private beach with shallow area for kids and every water and outdoor toy imaginable provided. Great place to unplug and enjoy your family! Owners are very responsive and easy to communicate with. Love this house and hope to be able to stay here again!

The house had every kitchen item you’d ever need, plus kayaks, plus bikes, plus ping pong, plus foosball, plus lots of games! My favorite being PAC-MAN & the pool table. It was a perfect getaway for me to take my sons family. We were only coming from Roanoke, but you’d a thought we traveled to a far away destination! (PS Best homeowners ever!)

I can’t say enough about what a wonderful house Outer Banks is! Tim and Michelle have gone out of their way to make their guests stay comfortable. The house is beautiful and the lake setting is perfect. I would like to mention all the things they provided for their guests but my review would be too long. Suffice it to say that with all the indoor “extras” you really don’t need the lake. But the lake view is so beautiful it takes your breathe away when you walk in the front door! We had hoped for a warmer weekend with our family but it turned out to be cold and snowy and it was perfect😊. So many wonderful memories were made including a polar plunge that I will never forget!!

The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. It has everything you could want for in a lake house, especially the gentle slope /short walk to the lake, a sandy beach, and a hot tub. Not to mention the endless activities they have available. The house is spacious with plenty of room for everyone to spread out comfortably. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very friendly. You will love staying here. We had a great time and hope to visit again!
