About this house rental
Swallow Barn is a home away from home, with everything you need to make your holiday relaxing, fun and memorable. The property was converted by the family in 2002 and since 2016 has been running as a successful holiday let. The family have been involved in holiday letting in this area for over 30 years so we have a team of highly experienced people in place to make sure that the property is maintained to high standards and guests are well looked after so they can enjoy a hassle free holiday. The property is private with landscaped grounds surrounded by pastures, but close enough to walk into the nearby village of Fishguard, the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and local cycle way which is just at the end of the driveway. Although set back down a long driveway, there is some traffic noise from the A40. For dog owners, this is a paradise with a secure garden (for large/medium dogs) at the rear of the Cottage.
You can feel the happy energy of Swallow Barn when you walk through the door. It is a place for celebration and good times! There is plenty of space for everyone, inside and out, so you can be part of the activity or find a peaceful little nook all to yourself. The property is equipped to cater for big groups with a well stocked kitchen, huge farmhouse dining table, and outside areas for lazy lunches and late night dinners. There are plenty of comfy sofas to snuggle into, enough space for a game of outdoor cricket and an outside storage building for your bikes, kayaks, surfboard and other sporty paraphernalia.
There is an adjoining Cottage to the main residence which can be used as part of the main house (via a lockable door) or as separate accommodation with its own front and rear entrances, separate secure garden and parking area.
Swallow Barn is a place of character with lots of quirkiness; an artisan spiral staircase to the mezzanine, a hand mast cast iron balcony in the kitchen, a claw foot roll top bath, a pretty cushioned daybed, an outdoor terrace of local river pebbles, rustic Welsh slate kitchen bench tops, exposed timber beams and local stone interior walls. French windows open out from all the reception rooms onto the garden and the outside wrap around wooden deck with modern lounge furniture is perfect for entertaining, having a BBQ (provided) or sipping sunset cocktails.
The local area has an abundance of things to do. The Cycle Way is just at the end of the driveway and if you prefer to go on foot, it is only a short walk to the famous coastal path. There are surf beaches, pebbly pirate coves, ruined castles, historical sites and almost every type of sport available locally including one of Britains best surf beaches!
The local produce is wonderful! Pick your own mussels from the beaches or head to one of the local pubs to savour the famous Pembrokeshire crab and lobster dishes. Stroll around the local farmers markets at the weekend, grab a gourmet picnic and top notch coffee from the local deli or cook up local Welsh lamb on the BBQ. If high end gourmet dining is on your agenda, there are plenty of fabulous restaurants within driving distance.
During 2024 we have upgraded some of the facilities at the property for the comfort and enjoyment of our guests. There are 2 brand new bathrooms; one in the Cottage area with a fabulous bath and power shower combination and the other in the downstairs cloakroom with power shower. There is also a huge new velvet modular sofa unit in the main living space and 2 new Super King beds (one is a fabulous antique sleigh bed frame) in the 2 larger upstairs Barn bedrooms.
We love Swallow Barn and are so happy to be able to share the experience of staying there with you!

Beautiful well equipped property that exceeded our expectations in a lovely part of the country . The information booklet could do with an update , as it seems to have been written during covid times and didnt give the right info regarding recycling .

We had the BEST time at Swallow Barn; we made amazing memories against a beautiful backdrop.
Angaharad is a great communicator and answered all our questions in advance. On arrival, we found someone had turned off the hot water and we called for help. A friendly plumber was with us & everything was sorted within the hour. Rest assured issues are resolved quickly by kind folks!
The address didn’t pop up on our GPS, but the postcode gets you to the A road and there's a clear sign so we recommend reading the directions provided in advance.
The living room has lovely new velvet sofas but the room can’t be closed; we recommend covering them in case your dogs are tempted! The underfloor heating made the house so cosy. We found some kitchen things we needed in the cottage so check both places! The wifi only struggled when all 12 of us were trying to load things simultaneously.
There are deep steps throughout but most have handrails. The steps into the cottage are bigger but we had no issues. We didn’t use a wheelchair but we had people with reduced mobility no-one found it difficult to navigate (except the spiral staircase, which I had to take slowly). This house is great for gatherings if you have sensory needs or need quiet spaces with lots of little nooks for chats.
Overall this house was a treat. We loved it. Some of our guests are already want to bring their families back! It's just as it looks in the photos but somehow bigger and happier. Enjoy the home, we certainly did!

Visiting from Sydney, we had a family break here with ages ranging from 11 months to 89!
Very spacious, and pretty views from most windows, Quiet, set back from the road and plenty of parking. Lots of lovely sofas to all sit around talking and outdoor seating too which we were able to use during the wonderful weather we had.
There was an issue with hot water which was quickly resolved and communication was very good with the owner.
Great place to stay but a caution for very young and elderly as there are 5 deep steps inside leading off the kitchen to the bedrooms which are on tiled floors and hard to see as they’re not marked.

Quirky homely sprawling house with separate apartment, very well equipped and plenty of space for both family gatherings and quiet times.

Although the actual property was amazing, there were so many ornaments and knick-knacks, it would be impossible to clean properly between bookings. which results in a lot of cobwebs. Although my grown up kids didn't mind about the bed linen being rough dried, I did. The garden was very exciting for the children to play. On the whole, we had a brilliant holiday and loved Pembrokeshire. WB

Just returned from an amazing week in Pembrokeshire. Swallow Barn was a fantastic base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country. It was one of the hottest weeks of the year and we enjoyed its sunny position from the early morning through to the stunning evening sunsets. It was perfectly set up and equipped for a large group of family and friends.

The house was perfect and clean and had everything available to us.
The hosts were superb and communicative when needed. I would recommend to people to stay, the location is really handy, although you do have to drive everywhere.

Fabulous house with so many different areas and spaces to socialise with family and friends. Kids and dog loved running around the garden. Place was well stocked with everything we could have needed - home from home.

Communication was excellent from the start, and we were even able to check-in early on the day of arrival.
The house is spacious and well-equipped. The layout worked perfectly for the mix of families on our week at Tresior.

Perfect for a family reunion. Great communication and assistance with the odd thing that needed fixing.

A stunning and spacious house, decorated it with love and quirky style. The kitchen is really well equipped, we had all we needed to eat and drink. The A40 really isn't a bother for noise and Fishguard is a quick 5 minutes drive for shopping and exploring. This house is perfect for family and friends who wants a break from daily stress and city life. We really felt at home, and the under floor heating kept us warm, although we didn't put it on much as it is well isolated despite the big spaces. We did not want to leave!

We had a lovely few days at Swallow Barn. Plenty of room for all the family to dine together and spend time apart, well stocked and beautifully decorated. Great base for exploring the area

Incredible property with amazing decoration and furniture. Some initial issues with heating were rectified quickly once identified. The barn and cottage living space is huge and filled with interesting things such as books, games to play and incredible ornaments. I can't recommend this property enough 5 Stars :)

Loved the place... Couldn't believe how big it was on arrival and the underfloor heating and real fire made it feel so cosy, despite being so large.

Photos do not do it justice, it a stunning warm wonderful property filled with the most amazing furnishings.
Everything you could want and need is catered for in this very special, hugely spacious home. We all managed to find a quiet corner when needed and yet managed to be together for a truly Beautiful Christmas experience. Thank you so much to the owners, the housekeeper and even the maintenance man who put in a couple of appearances to make sure all was well. Simply the best is the motto here, would stay again with a large crowd as soon as we can get together again. Xxx

From the moment we booked the owners of Swallow Barn we're helpful, accommodating and friendly.
The Barn itself was perfect for our family holiday.
Well equipped throughout and everything had been thought of.
We had a wonderful week and highly recommend Swallow Barn 😀

A great place to stay with prompt communication and action from owners/manager when required.

The Barn accommodated us all in great comfort, and there was room enough for those who sought a quiet corner for a read, or a savage game of Scrabble, and enough countryside over the garden wall to give the dogs plenty of exercise on top of trips to beaches. The house is a triumph of eclectic furnishing of a skilful conversion, with thoughtful fittings, and quite the most comfortable beds. Mealtimes for the 12 of us in the huge kitchen were always greatly enjoyed, and a breeze to prepare in the well-equipped room. A repeatable experience.

Spacious lovely property. Good location. Everything you need.

Spacious, well appointed and lovely location for a family holiday.

This was a beautiful property with interesting decor and layout and lovely views of the countryside - perfect for a large group of people and two dogs.
We experienced a problem with the fridge and this was immediately attended to, with the fridge being replaced the next day. I could not have anticipated a better response and it meant that we could get on with enjoying our holiday.

We spent a week at Swallows barn for a university reunion and it was everything we could have hoped for. The place was amazing and we had a great time exploring the Pembrokeshire coast. Angharad was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process and made things easy for us despite the time zone difference. Some of our party had neglected the instructions to bring our own towels and we were provided with some on location without any fuss at all. The well equipped kitchen came in handy as did the lovely terrace and backyard. We greatly enjoyed our stay and even the weather played its part. Covid guidance and provisions were clear and made us feel safe at all times without ever compromising or restricting our ability to enjoy the place to its fullest.
4.8
A lovely place for a large family to spend time together but not feel on top of each other. The children loved hide and seek in the house and exploring the garden. Although well set back from the road there was still quite a bit of traffic noise, but easy access into Fishguard.
4.8
Just had a fantastic week at Swallow Barn everything was great for our mixed age range family holiday. Loved the downstairs space amd the kitchen was fantastic with everything you could think of. Plenty of room for all of us. Location of the house is great too. This was our first visit to Pembrokeshire and we would love to come back beautiful part of the world.

Swallows Barn & cottage is a lovely family home. We were 11 including three babies and and a dog. There was plenty of room to spread out. Although close to A40 the car noise is not a problem and meant easy quick access to Fishguard. The new Coop there is good and we had arranged a Click & Collect from Tesco Extra in Haverfordwest as nobody seems to deliver at the moment. T he nearest good beach is at Pwllgwaelod. Not quite as scenic as Whitesands Bay near St Davids but less busy and more importantly dog friendly. Lovely ice creams there and at the Yacht Club cafe at Lower Town in Fishguard.
4.8
We had a brilliant few days in Fishguard. The property was beautiful and well equipped, so we could cook for 12 easily. Bedrooms were large and well set up. Plenty of parking for cars. Lots of wild swimming and beaches in the area, as well as a fab cliff top walk. Thanks to Angharad for her excellent communication and for allowing us to stay in her beautiful home.
