HELPFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THE AREA
Puerto Del Carmen and the beaches.
Situated only 10 minutes walk to the Playa Grande beach and the Playa Avenida, you will find all the frontline Puerto del Carmen bars, restaurants, entertainment, a large variety of shops.
If you like shopping there are plenty in the Bio sfera shopping Mall, plus cafes and restaurants and an outdoor cinema.
In Puerto Del Carmen the variety of restaurants is vast. There is something for everyone...Spanish, British, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Thai, and plenty of bars and entertainment.
For your immediate food essentials there is a local supermarket round the corner.
For the larger shop there is a new Mercadona supermarket with parking and a Large Lidl also with parking.
For the children and parents there is the Texas Rancho theme park and zoo, for a fun day out. There are action packed days on Dune Buggies, at nearby Puerto Colero (bring your driving license), and plenty of water sports and hiking or cycling.
The Lanzarote coastline, does attract people who love the water sports, hiking and cycling.
There are water taxis from Puerto Del Carmen Harbour to Fuerteventura, and Sea Safaris for a chance at spotting a dolphin!
If you fancy a gentle stroll along the Avenida it is a flat walk and you can stop a different cafe bar or a restaurant everyday. There are beautiful sunsets behind the volcanic mountain ranges.
Exploring the island is another option, and there are markets in Puerto Colero and in Teguise (not Costa Teguise) for a range of souvenirs and clothing and leather goods.

Just back from our 4 week stay and Villa Colonia was just as advertised. It is in a great location, 10 mins from the strip and close to several supermarkets. The Villa was clean and had everything you could possibly need. The coin operated air con was cheap to run and fans supplied for other rooms without air con.The pool area was just perfect for our family and the inflatables supplied kept my son happy in the pool.
Chris and Karen were on hand to deal with any queries and the welcome pack on arrival was much appreciated.
The only negative I have is that only 1 key is supplied with the villa and we felt 2 would have been useful especially if there was a bigger group staying.
All in all we loved our stay and would not hesitate to return.

This was our second visit to the Villa and we are already planning our third stay. The villa is exactly as it is in the listing - clean, spacious and in an excellent location. The pool is perfect, especially for young children. The communication throughout the booking, check in and during the stay was excellent. We can’t wait to return.

We loved our stay in Puerto Del Carmen - my husband and I, mother in law and our daughter aged 3.5. Villa was clean, very well equipped and comfortable. I am 6 months pregnant and still found the bed really comfy!
Accessibility wise it was good for us and we really liked the layout, maybe consider checking with the hosts if you have people in your party who may struggle with stairs or toddlers who might climb up on things due to living area being upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. There are bath/shower rooms and toilet on both floors though so still workable. The location for us was spot on. Quiet residential street just a 10 min walk in one direction to lovely beach, main 'strip' with plenty to do. Spar 5 mins walk. Lidl approx 12 mins. We walked 25 mins to Puerto Del Carmen Old Town as usually prefer an old town but we preferred our location and were glad we stayed this side. When walking there are some quite steep hills so again just be mindful for anyone with mobility issues.
We stayed at the villa in March and paid extra to have the pool heated - this meant our little girl was in it every day with us growing in confidence she has just learnt to swim so watched her like a hawk (pool is deep but helpfully there were steps she could rest on). Lots of inflatables for pool provided - no need to buy or bring any!
Had excellent comms with Karen and Chris - lovely hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay - cannot fault and highly recommend!

This is a very nice Villa in a great location, close to the sea front, bars, restaurants and a good selection of nearby options for grocery shopping. Clean and tidy. All 5/10 mins walk, very slight hill on return, but certainly not close to being considered steep. A small welcome pack was much appreciated and the support from Karen & Chris with any "maintenance" was excellent. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Good communication before, during and after the booking. The not quite perfect 5 0ut of 5 is because: A great choice of Uk TV, Sports, Movies etc with a large screen, but this is located in the elevated dining room and not the lounge area (though it can be seen from the lounge,but looks like a small TV when sat far away on the comfy seats. The air con (pay as you go) costs seemed expensive for the lounge/ compared to the bedroom air con (you got a lot more time for your Euro using the bedroom air con, even though on the same setting as the lounge) No facility/option to store cases with the early check out - we had an evening flight on departure, so the last day became an inconvenience, lugging suit cases around. Good sets of towels but 10 days without a change felt to long.We regrettably had some noisey neighbours, absolutely completely out of the control of the hosts, it was one of those unlucky moments for us. Would I recommend staying in this Villa - absolutely (just try and find a new wall for the telly 😉 and think of a plan for helping with luggage.)

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Villa Colonia. Its ideally situated close to bars shops and restaurants and has absolutely everything you need to have the most perfect time away. As we travelled with a toddler and a child with additional needs, we spent quite a lot of time there just playing in the pool, spending quality time with each other and making the best memories. When we did go out it was just a short walk so its in the perfect location. The villa has everything you need. It is spotlessly clean, gorgeous decor, very comfy beds. The hosts provided additional items for our toddler so we didnt have to bring it with us which was a huge help! A home away from home. Just perfect. We particularly loved the barbecue, and the kids were never out of the pool. All in all, i'd recommend this villa to everyone! Huge thanks to Joanne and especially Chris for all of the liaison during booking. And a huge thank you to Karen the property manager for her help during our stay, and Chris for keeping that pool so perfect for us all! Cant wait to visit again!

We are a long time going to PDC and have stayed in a lot of villas, Villa Colonia is right at the top in terms of location, cleanliness. It’s right in the heart of where you need to be. 5 minutes from the beach, 5 mins from Lidl and 2 mins from Angelica’s pizza and a spar. Pool was stunning and thoroughly loved by everyone. Exceptionally clean with a depth of 1.85 metres. Karen and Chris were every travellers dream hosts, nothing was a problem. Very friendly and accommodating at all times. Beautiful welcome pack when we arrived which is always appreciated. Only con we would say and need to point out is that there is only 1 outdoor umbrella and because the villa is in full sun at all times, it only sheltered one person, there is no other shelter. Now a lot of people are ok with that but for us we definitely needed 2 to be able to stay outdoors for this time of year. Karen and Chris thank you and we will definitely see you again.

We recently stayed here at the beginning of March. The villa was fantastic and set up with everything we need. It is only a short walk down to the beach and the strip. The pool is lovely and the bedrooms are ideal. Karen was so helpful in helping us settle in and was on hand with any recommendations for the island. I will definitely be back and couldn’t rate the villa any higher.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this excellent villa. The villa was well equipped, clean and in good condition.
It is located a short walk to a range of nice restaurants, shops, the beach and a short transfer from the Airport..
Linda and Richard were excellent - very friendly and helpful and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay and answer any questions we had. They were there to greet us on arrival and say goodbye when we left.

We had an amazing time at this villa !! its perfectly situated to the strip, LIDL and the old town. It literally is a home from home and Linda and Richard couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Had a great time. Linda and Richard so helpful. Everything you would need was in the villa. Villa was spotless. Just one small problem. Villa can take 6 but only one parasol round the pool. One parasol was not enough even for the four of us.

Amazing villa with a great location. Not too close to the centre that you will hear any noise but also not too far away either. A 5-10 minute walk and your right at the beach. Great size pool and villa. Will defiantly be booking again. Linda and Richard were very helpful throughout the booking process

Had a fabulous stay. Everything in the villa is of excellent quality. The pool was fantastic, warm and clean. The location is great for shops, bars and restaurants. As others have said, you do notice the hill on the way back up! Linda and Richard are brilliant and were on hand to sort anything and help in any way they could. Highly recommend this villa and we’ll be back.,

We had a fantastic week staying at the villa with our young family. The pool was great and the location to the beach and nearby shops was really good. Richard and Linda were very accommodating and were always available if we ever needed them. Will definitely be staying again!

The pool was delightfully warm and great fun. The upstairs terrace has lovely views for eating outside. The beds are huge and very comfortable. Powerful showers with plenty hot water. A big Lidl supermarket is ten minutes walk away. Easy to get a taxi, with the instructions the management team have left in the villa. Numerous good places to eat out. Whole resort was very clean and felt very safe. If you like walking, take the steep steps up from behind the marina in the old town and walk to Puerto Calero. Beautiful walk and views to a small upmarket fishing village. We ate in Pappardella, a pizza and prawns in garlic, the best we have ever had! We walked back, but you can get the water taxi. We understand there is a small market on a Tuesday and Friday in Puerto Calero which would make a great day out. Another longish walk is to walk to the beach at the airport and watch the planes come in over your head. The little bar at The Forbidden Temple mini golf, opposite San Antonio Hotel at the airport end of Puerto del Carmen serves great Pina Coladas and has lovely staff. Linda and Richard, the management team were so welcoming and we felt very looked after. Thank you for the welcome pack which was much appreciated. The villa and pool are very well looked after and we can't recommend highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful holiday

Wonderful property, clean, well furnished and maintained. It was great location with supermarkets a 10 min walk away, beach and main strip 5 min walk away. No car needed if you want a relaxed pool/beach stay. Hosts were wonderful too!

We had an amazing holiday in this wonderful property. Nothing was to much trouble for the managers and they were very attentive, friendly and made us feel comfortable and at ease from the moment we met them. They were gracious, informative and helpful. Couldn’t commend or recommend them enough.

The villa was spotless and well maintained. The pool area was well furnished. It was only a 5 minute walk to grocery shops and 10 minutes to the centre of Puerto del Carmen and the beach.
