We loved it so much, we changed plans to come back and stay another four nights. Beautiful elegant and classical interior. Nice outdoor pool area. Very friendly and helpful staff, who organised a call out nurse for my father.
4.0
Very good breakfast with good choice of fruit and tasty confectionery.
Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Unfortunately, the pool was not opened yet.
Hotel a little bit away from other places, cafes, resto, etc. Hotel lacked info on tours, etc.

La struttura è molto bella, un Grand Hotel di altri tempi in cui si percepisce il periodo storico in cui è stato costruito.
Ottima posizione, comodo parcheggio e ambienti sontuosi e lussosi.

Very comfortable room, very clean, nicely finished. Dining room large and bright. Pool area very nice indeed and the hotel grounds are very nice. Quiet and comfortable. We only ate breakfast but this was generous and varied, with good attentive service. Staff were helpful.
The hotel is about a half hour walk from the historic centre. Mea culpa for not checking, but bear in mind if you are unable to do a longish walk.
5.0
The breakfast was exceptional with a lot of choice and caters to all. The pool is an oasis surrounded by nature and serne calmness is felt. The room is a tad on the small side but very clean, it did not have a trouser press as advertised and we had a slight issue with the airconditioning which was quickly resolved once reported.
There is nothing to complain about.

The hotel is everything that you expect from Sicily, it fits with the look and feel of the old baroque buildings and monuments while offering all the needs of the modern time.
The free parking that is offered does not have a decent security, even though we didn't had any issues with the car, maybe it can be improved a bit with a ramp or something.

Majestic hotel, spacious, clean, polite staff, great location
everything was v nice. no negatives

Amazing historical grand hotel! it is an honor to have stayed in the same hotel as Churchill or other great people.
You just feel like you are in a movie!
Great room, lovely views to the sea, very clean and super nice staff, they brought us extra pillows and served us coffee and cocktails to the pool area.
2.5
The location was good.
The hotel catered for a lot of bus groups middle aged and young. The young groups were noisy. The management staff only seemed to acknowledge certain people and were very snobby. All staff below the management staff were friendly. On one occasion in the dining room at breakfast I had to stand to one side or I would have been knocked over by the floor manager.

Clean, nice building and pleasant staff
Sadly the hotel is now surrounded by blocks of flats , the garden is very limited and I couldn’t find the beach/rocks where the beds are.

Nice interior and exterior in the common area
- Loud room, despite our demand for a calm one
- The only window shows on the ground floor of the emergency exit/laundry storage, we opened it but between the cat pee smell and the fact that anyone could have entered, we had to keep it closed during our entire stay (quite different from available pictures on Booking.com)
- We informed that the shower gel dispenser was empty in the shower, it took 3 requests and 24h to get it refilled
- Cleaning wasn't performed by 4pm, so we had to request it directly from the cleaning staff
- Impossible to have 2 electronic keys for the bedroom

The property is very beautiful and grand. The staff are very kind and helpful. We went in winter, which meant it was very quiet which was nice. The room was a good size and it was very clean. The elevators are fast too.
The bed was a little bit too hard for my liking

The breakfast was a total disappointment.

great rooms and fantastic location. amazing pool and pool side bar. sitting out on the terrace in the evening was one of my favourite things to do.
the restaurant is pretty fancy and pricey. Nora great selection of dishes.
€5 per beach towel was a little excessive.

Lovely old hotel with very nice room and bathroom. The pool was very good too. Breakfast was mostly ok - they did run out of things that didn't get replaced, but overall there was plenty.
It is quite far out of town, with really only one local cafe bar. We did walk into town one evening, but it is about 30 mins walk. We used the tourist hop on/hop off bus as much as we could as it stops nearby and is only 5 euros each per day. Otherwise it needs to be taxi and they are very expensive in Sicily!
4.5
Amazing to be able to spend the night in such a historic place. Loved the birdsong from the gardens. Nice pool. Room was comfortable and shower good and powerful.
Breakfast was not good for the price. Not enough staff at reception leading to long queues. Views of the sea must have been amazing in Churchill’s time but now blocked by ugly new buildings. Sea bathing platform shut (late September, but sea still plenty warm for swimming), and reception staff didn’t seem to think it was their role to offer any explanation or suggest any alternative places to swim in the sea.

Villa Politi is just magical. So historic but beautifully renovated. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. There was a lot of choice at breakfast, including fizz! Pool is great and parking onsite. Can’t wait to go back!
It’s a little out of the main part of town (Ortigia)… and sadly, it’s true, their coffee is not great!!

Restourant and hotel beautiful with history.

Great location, very nostalgic hotel. All the staff were very friendly. Hotel Breakfast and diner great. Everything about the hotel is special
Shower cubicle in our room was very small and we are small people. Prices at the bar are a bit on the high side

An old, characterful hotel but really well maintained and super clean. Great sized pool and good amount of loungers.
Not many eating places nearby. Buy if you are prepared to walk 20-30 mins there are lots of options. Cab at 15 euros to ortiga worth it.
