Our check in time was delayed a little because the previous vacationers left late. Once we were allowed to check in, the house was very nice. Almost all of the amenities were as described, and all the recreational activities provided (kayaks, bikes, etc.) were great. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

This was a wonderful retreat for the family! Our four grandchildren enjoyed the pirate ship and the arcades! We needed a longer stay to enjoy the kayaks and bikes. Next time!!

The house was great! There were lots of activities included with the house that kept all of us busy. Lots of great outdoor spaces to enjoy. Plenty large enough for 9 people.

Plenty of space for our family of 9. Kitchen was well equipped. Granddaughter loved the wooden ship play set. Bicycles and kayaks were great additions to amenities and were enjoyed but some needed maintenance for improved comfort would be good. Hot tub was very well chlorinated.

We visited with family over the weekend and the entire process was very easy and welcoming. They had everything you could need for a stay. Everything was clean and organized. The owners stayed in contact with us as needed and gave us many resources for a fun trip.

This was a great spot for our student weekend retreat. Lots of fun things to do right there (hot tub, s'mores, and kayaking were all a hit!). Our kids spent hours on the playground too. Host was very easy and quick to communicate. Highly recommend!

We rented this house to spend new years with our family. We had family traveling from Brazil and Portugal. The house is super spacious and it was perfect for our group.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a nice bottle of wine, fresh cupcakes, cereal/breakfast bars and a variety of coffee flavors. The children enjoyed the boat themed playground. We also had a cozy time making s’mores on the bonfire outside. The jacuzzi added was a nice hot treatment the cold weather night.
The house was stocked with plenty of pots, pans, and every utensil needed in the kitchen. Bedrooms had plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The bathrooms were supplied with new wrapped tooth brushes, toothpaste and mouthwash, as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash that - was a nice extra special touch from the host.
The entertainment center in the basement kept everyone occupied.
Overall we LOVED our stay and couldn’t have started our year better. We hope to come back in the future.

Amazing property, amazing amenities, the host was the best part. She is so sweet and has amazing hospitality. Would highly recommend staying here is you’re considering the Acadia area!

Very nice stay, and host provided extra soaps, toothpaste, and mouth wash. The whole famiy enjoyed kayaks and the game room was a big hit.
The host communicated quickly with any issues. Which were the sink in the kitchen leaked and she had a plummer the next morning. There was also no internet the last day.
Lots of positive and would recommend this place to stay and an 1 hour drive to Bar Harbor.
Only negative there is little water pressure in the bathroom by the game room, and the hot and cold water would change from one extreme to the next while showering.

Property was great! No complaints. The house was well equiped with several amenities. Plenty of things to do on site and close by. The owners gave a list of suggestions for food, restaurants, site seeing etc which was very helpful. The owners were easy to reach and responded quickly to our questions. We loved our stay. If anyone stays at the property, check out the winery. Nice little hidden spot.

We had a wonderful vacation!! Our family of 10 had plenty of space to relax and enjoy our stay. The video games, bikes and especially the kayaks made our week complete. We loved the peaceful, quiet and beautiful area of Gouldsboro. In fact we loved Maine and plan to come back next summer!

Great property with so many amenities! The kids loved the playground, game room, and smores bar! It was great having the kayaks, life jackets, bikes, bike helmets, sheets, towels, beach towels, etc. all there for us. The kitchen is well stocked, including condiments, spices, coffee K-cups, cereal, breakfast bars, etc. Extras including wine, cupcakes, and fresh flowers really made us feel welcome from the start. I have already told a number of friends about what a great place this was for a family vacation. Thank you!

Our family has gathered for almost 20 years for an annual reunion at a National Park. The selected family to host must find housing, plan events, and feed approximately 26 people.
Finding this property on VRBO, turned out to be better than any of us could ever have expected. This is an exceptional property. It had everything and more. Lots of space for gathering a group together. It is the perfect place for all ages. Never have we been at a property where there was so much attention to detail. Our group was aged from 84 to 1 year old. The owners have thought of everything for all ages to enjoy. At Least 10 Kayaks and bikes, an unexpected perk. A screened in gazebo for a group, looking to cook marshmallows. Large seating area on the deck, and we cannot forget the hot tub and great ship play area for the young ones to climb.
While most of the time was spent at the Arcadia National Park. The owners supplied information of things to do locally. The Arcadia Puffin Cruise done by a local family was great. At Chipman’s Wharf, you can get seafood; they will help stack lobsters in the pots for steaming and even supplied bibs and cups for butter. Take the tour of the facility. We had great fun at our lobster meal.
We absolutely recommend this great property.

We had a great stay in Maine. The owners are very friendly and responsive. The house was clean and easily held all 12 of us. It was stocked with a lot of nice touches you don't normally see in other rentals. We were welcomed with wine, cupcakes and flowers. Loved the location, kayaking and paddle boarding, riding bikes, trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor, Schoodic point, the hot tub, smores gazebo, firepit, the game room and so much more. The fresh lobstah all around was amazing. It was a little pricey in Bar Harbor but outside of that it was reasonable. Overall it was a great first time to Maine. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay here, in early July. There was more than enough room for the 5 adults and 3 kids in our group. Wanda really thought of everything, and made sure there was plenty of things for the kiddos to do. Wanda was also really easy to connect with, before and during our stay. She sent us detailed information about the local area and even offered for her husband to give us a guided kayak tour! (We didn't, but it was a really nice offer)
We came to this area to go to Acadia NP. There is part of Acadia that's only 10 minutes away, but we wanted to go to Mt. Desert Island; it's about a 45 minute drive and the traffic was easy. The kids all loved the pirate ship, the plethora of movies downstairs. Everyone loved the smores bar, the bikes with helmets, the kayaks, the hot tub, plenty of seating on the deck, it was so nice to enjoy a meal outside at that huge table! This was a really beautiful property, we all enjoyed our stay!

We loved our stay at Wanda's house. All the small personal touches and attention to detail made this house a delight. With 5 kids the open space concept, kayaks, game room and pirate ship provided all the entertainment we needed. The smores bar was truly a delight. Overall, it's the owner's sense of pride to provide an amazing house and vacation experience is what elevates this place over many other houses we have stayed in Maine. We highly recommend this property.

We came to Maine to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday and our family had a fantastic stay at Wanda and Chuck's house! The attention to detail made the stay that much more enjoyable. Treats to greet us on our arrival, fully stocked kitchen, bathroom amenities, pirate play structure, a basement full of games and dvds...you name it, they've thought of it.
There is entertainment for all ages - the arcade, pool table, and "smores gazebo" were a huge hit with the younger set and adults as well. The deck is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy nature, with heaters if the nights are a bit chilly.
Chuck provided a guided kayak tour of the cove and pointed out local wildlife, including the nesting location for a bald eagle. There are plenty of kayaks (including 1 double) with life jackets for all sizes. We didn't get the opportunity to take the bikes for a spin, but were impressed that helmets were available for our use if we'd had time.
The house was spotless and had 3 washer/dryer sets for us to do our laundry. There was plenty of space for our party of 10, aged 2 - 86.
Bar Harbor is a 50 min drive, and there is also an entrance to Acadia National Park within a 15-min drive from the house.
We highly recommend this home for families interested in exploring the area. Wanda was incredibly responsive to our questions and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was top-notch. Great hosts, great home - great vacation!

We could not have selected a better place to stay for our first visit to Maine. The home had everything we needed and more. We were able to use the provided kayaks to spend some time paddling in the bay and then take the provided bicycles out for a spin. Communication with the host was excellent for checking in and for questions about the property. We will definitely stay here again.
