The dinner was very good!

After a long way on a non paved road we found finally the property. Nothing on its surroundings except a small waterfall...Everything in the property needs an improvement. We got no towels in the room when we arrived. The room door only worked when we put big force on it. The room was very simple. No facilities except an hair dryer. Breakfast was not included and, as we have no other place to eat we took breakfast there. It was very basic and we had to pay 2500 USK for it. The "hot tube" was surrealistic, under an old stair...surrounded by old vegetation and... didn't function. The staff was not so friendly as we have experienced in the other places we have been during our tour atound Iceland. The price is really I for what it offers. I don't recommend at all.

Stunning location with a waterfall a 15 minute walk away. Breathtaking views over to Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Loved the Hot Tub and Gin & Tonics before our delicious meal. Breakfast was lovely too!

Everything was just perfect!

Nice and modern lodge. Friendly staff! Would definitely recommend this to people!

If it's remoteness and nature you're looking for, Vogur Lodge is a one of a kind jewel you should not miss. Situated off the beaten track, you are surrounded by nothing but beautiful nature and all you can hear is the sound of the waterfall in the 'backyard'. Gudmundur is an excellent, utmost friendly host who makes sure you feel right at home. He drove me around the Westfjords during two days, making it excellent trips thanks to his kindness and lovely sense of humor. I rated 5 stars, but they deserve many more!
Dissapointed I had to leave after 4 nights!

Comfortable accommodation in the middle of nowhere. Very friendly host. Great food. Nice extra: an open-air hot tub!

This hotel is highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff (owner), the room was perfect, beautifully clean, fresh, very good bathroom with wonderfully powerful shower, Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Beautiful location with many hiking trails.

Location is amazing, utterly secluded with fantastic views and great hiking nearby. Staff super helpful. Food is delicious, simple and traditional and not overpriced for Iceland. Sauna was hot and v clean. We loved the company of the dog.
Nothing obvious although the hot tub could have been a bit warmer.
It was not a problem for us but the lodge a 45 min drive on a gravel road from the nearest junction.

I loved its remoteness and views. room spacious.

Brekfast was simple but nice. Fruits, bread and cereals. Sauna and Hot tub was nice. The area was quiet and hás beutiful view.
The washing machine in the night.

Perfect location to enjoy the quiet of Island. Open country side in the backyard - not for the faint hearted, there are no real tracks. Good size room , friendly host.
Basic facilities, simple fares at the restaurant- after 2 nights you will then likely have to eat again something you ate one of the previous evening.

Location, Warm welcoming of the staff/owner The friendoggie who take us to the close waterfall!!.
Very beautiful view from our room (no.7)
Even if end of June, it was like late winter (+5° C outside) and our room was quite cold (no heating system?)..

In the middle of nowhere this is THE place for a perfect stay; great location, quiet. Perfect food, great host....

The lounge and the eating room are very nice. The dinner was very good.
Some of the guest were very disgusting. The had feet on the lounge table and others burped during dinner.

Great place! Highly recommended. I was concerned about the road to the hotel, because we had a regular car, not 4wd. However, the road is great 👍. Very picturesque, very good quality, not rough at all. I highly recommend this property. I wish we would stay longer. Beautiful waterfall on a property. The food is great. Best cod fish.

We were there the third time because of the best host we ever had. A very quiet place on the western Fellsströnd with an impressive view of Snæfellsnes; ideal for relaxation. Very tasty food.

Hands down our favorite stay in Iceland. It's maybe 45 minutes off the Ring, so it feels utterly isolated though won't actually take you too far out of your way. You're welcomed by the most friendly Icelandic family you'll meet in the country, who have improbably built a luxurious and large hotel at the actual end of the earth. Food was delicious, the hot tub was hot, walking around a joy. This place is really special.

The lodge was located in an isolated location on a remote peninsula. The landscape is beautiful and has a different atmosphere than many other locations in Iceland. Trails around the lodge invite to discover the area. It was pleasant to stay at the lodge and the host was very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed soup, dinner and breakfast which was not cheap but reasonably priced with good quality. Our rooms were spacious, clean and very tastefully furnished.
While the sauna and spa space were very nice with an outside patio with views, the hot tub itself was not sufficiently hot and clean. The dining room is very large but didn't invite to lounge for a long time (apart from dining). Not all the staff were as friendly and welcoming as the main host.
4.3
The rooms are clean but small and rather simple. To the lodge, you have to drive 38km on road 590. This is a gravel road loaded with potholes. Good for a 4WD but though on a regular 2WD. We didn't take the breakfast - the choices looked poor considering the not so poor price.

We had a beautiful stay at Vogur Country Lodge just after our wedding in Iceland. The gravel road was not too difficult to reach the hotel coming from the South but the Northern route we took as we left could be tricky if there has been rain or snow. We went straight to dinner as we arrived around 8pm and upon hearing that we were recently married the staff upgraded us to a larger room! It was very much appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were good, and the bed was very comfy. We used the hot tub in the evening which was also lovely. Overall, a fabulous quick stay on our way North to Isafjordur. Oh, and did I mention the waterfall just behind the lodge? Beautiful sight on the property during our morning walk after breakfast.
Overall (not specific to Vogur) I wish I had brought a pair of flip flops or sandals to get to the hot tubs at the hotels we stayed at across the Westfjords. One of the places we stayed offered them to guests but I would have preferred to have my own. At Vogur, from the rooms in the main building above the restaurant, you need to walk through the dining room to get to the hot tub. This was not an issue for us as there were not any customers in the restaurant when we went later in the evening but if we had gone earlier I would have wanted a robe/sandals etc.

The food was very good. The bed very comfy and the bedding soft and warm. We could take our dogs and it is not that common in Iceland, which is a great plus of this place.
There was no tv. Would be nice to have it.
4.3
This place was absolutely wonderful. The drive in was gorgeous, and the views continued to the place. The decks outside the rooms could all see the view to some degree and the restaurant had a very cool, cozy vibe. We walked to the waterfall with our coffee in the morning and enjoyed the beautiful water views the whole walk. The food was yummy and the staff was hilarious and very welcoming!
The pillows were a little too squishy for our liking and there were no firmer options.
4.3
The dining facilities are nice.
4.3
We were surprised to find an upscale lodging in a very remote location.
Drive in over a long, bumpy gravel road was unpleasant, especially given the cost of the room.
4.3
The dinner we had was really good, fish and lamb. Obviously good cook who knows how to use spice!
The hot tub and the sauna was really good og cosy possibility. The waterfall and the small river beside is also a very nice option to the location.
4.3
- Location is ver nice, with beautiful views of the fjord and the outlying islands - very remote location
- Communal facilities are very nice and stylish, with a hot tub, sauna and a nice restaurant/ lounge
- Staff is very helpful and friendly
- family rooms with own bath are overpriced for the very bland design and equipment (260 EUR) - due to a glitch the staff charged me their own rate of about 160 EUR and refunded me, so there is a difference of 100 EUR between the bookIng.com rate and their own rate!
- hot tub and sauna are a little neglected and not very clean
4.3
Everything was great, food exceptionally, very clean, super friendly stuff.
Very slow internet:(
4.3
Very friendly and nice stuff, clean rooms, best sauna ever, delicious food.
Location is not ideal in winter, not good road conditions to the property
