About this house rental
Whether looking for a Michelin-star fine dining experience or barefoot sunset walk on the beach, it is all within reach from Coral Cottage. The prime Montecito location is the #1 amenity at Coral Cottage. From there, anything and everything is possible. Unwind and recharge just minutes from the world-renowned Butterfly Beach and Montecito's Lower Village.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage seamlessly blends classic traditionalism with modern features and updated finishes. The home can accommodate up to six guests with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The inherent peacefulness will inspire guests to leave their cares at the doorstep, curl up with a good book, or enjoy quiet conversation. The fireplace, though non-functional, anchors the room and adds to the relaxed ambiance. The dining area is between the living room and the kitchen and seats up to six guests. The beautifully appointed, renovated kitchen with modern touches and plenty of counter space make this an ideal place for guests to mingle and collaborate with the chef in the group who is whipping up delicious creations! For casual snacking and informal breakfasts, there is a center island with seating for three. The laundry is behind closed doors adding convenience for long-term guests and refreshing the beach towels.
The primary bedroom features a dreamy king-size bed and garden views of the front yard. The neighboring bedroom offers two twin beds and a dresser. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed and a writing desk that supplies a quiet corner for studying or working from home. Two hall bathrooms were recently remodeled, one with a tub shower combination, the other with a glass, step-in shower, and both with a clean, fresh aesthetic.
After a long day of soaking up the sun or shopping and sightseeing, unwind in the hot tub in the backyard. When dining al fresco on warm Montecito nights is on the menu, the backyard boasts an outdoor garden area with dining for up to eight guests and a barbecue.
Friday at the Farmers Market is a great day to pick up a few colorful flowers and organic produce for any weekend entertaining on the itinerary. Though a bike or a car is suggested to head up to the Upper Village, it's not out of the question to take a little longer walk there too. Make time to grab an espresso and the most delicious scones at Jeannine's, schedule a leisurely lunch at Honor Bar, or book a table under the stars at Oliver's, where the gourmet vegan fare is not to be missed!
If you require a larger space to accommodate extra guests or weekend visitors the property also uniquely offers a detached studio down the drive. This space features a queen bed and a sofa sleeper pull out as well as a kitchenette and private patio. Take a look at the Coral Casita listing to check availability as it could be the perfect addition to your stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious house. Very clean and very comfortable, including very comfy beds. All the amenities needed for a vacation and a really great location - walking distance to the beach, as well as the restaurants and shops in the downtown Montecito area. Also, far enough away from the freeway and railroads tracks. Note that there is a lot of freeway and road construction in the Montecito area and these improvements are very much needed. Freeway will be much better when finished! We will be back and I would highly recommend this property.

We celebrated Christmas in this house. Gourmet chef in our group complimented the well appointed kitchen. We enjoyed the neighborhood and the outdoor space. We utilized the large outdoor table for brunch and we enjoyed the hot tub too. Nice, well located house in a great location!

Perfect Montecito cottage!
Wonderful experience. The cottage was quaint and clean and perfectly suited for our needs. The location couldn’t have been more ideal - situated a brief stroll away from central Montecito. We enjoyed every moment spent here and would love to return. Highly highly recommend !

The house is as advertised. The location is superb. Walking to butterfly beach and the lower village. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The bathrooms are small but nicely remodeled. Be prepared for the low flow Santa Barbara shower heads!

We spent a week at the Coral Cottage with our two sons (14 and 12) and it was just as advertised. The quality of the reviews are reflected in the experience this property offers. We've spent time in Santa Barbara and Montecito before so know the area fairly well. This house is in a great spot as it allows for an easy walk to Butterfly Beach and the lower village. The village has shops and restaurants where you can get breakfast, lunch, drinks, or dinner. Their is a supermarket in the village, too. A+ for location...
The house itself was just as advertised. Two things worth nothing - 1) there is no a/c, which is not uncommon for Santa Barbara given the temperate climate, but worth noting. We opened up all of the windows the first day and were never uncomfortable. There are even floor fans should you need them. 2) there is a little casita on the property that is also a rental. Again, nothing to be concerned about. The casita was occupied during our entire visit but we never saw the other guests, just their car. This property has outdoor dining, a grill and a hot tub which is only available to renters of the cottage, not the casita. Bottom line - zero issue on either of these two items.
The house is well stocked with kitchen items and plenty of bath and beach towels. We cooked breakfast at home almost every day and made lunches their, too. It was a great setup for all of that. The grill is nice and we used that for a couple of dinners.
Our only issue was with the dishwasher, which needed a repair. Communication with the manager was on point but the repair was not able to be scheduled before we left so we had to wash dishes by hand several times. No blame to go around - things happen and again, we were kept in the loop about the process. That minor inconvenience will have no bearing on our recommendation or future visit to this property.
In summary, we would highly recommend this house and look forward to a return trip!

Wonderful property indoor and out. Comfortable beds. Great light throughout the house. Despite being close to the freeway - heard zero freeway noise. Driveway is a little narrow the first time backing out - but easy after that! Would definitely stay again. Easy walk to the beach or to the little main street nearby. Loved having the oil remover pads for our feet after walking at the beach!

We were in town for a Westmont graduation and this charming house was a wonderful landing spot in a very convenient location for all of our activities. It is bright and airy with plenty of natural light on the inside, and the outside living spaces are lovely as well.

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was a great location for walking to the village or the beach. We had most of our meals at the cottage because it was so nice to just hang out there.

Very nice cottage well positioned near town and the beach. Everything worked fine and the check in and out was easy. Small problem with ants in the kitchen when we arrived but the property manager took care of that promptly. This was great for a 4-day family gathering, and we will stay here again if the opportunity presents.

The cottage was cute, just as advertised on the website and a good location in Montecito. There were a few things that weren’t great. Only two bars of soap were provided, each smaller than my little finger, and Kleenex wasn’t provided. Two long, dark hairs were on the sink and on top of the tank of the toilet in the master bedroom. The king and queen beds were extremely squeaky but comfortable. The bag of ground coffee was only partially full and was past the sell by date, and while baking for Thanksgiving I found one of the cake pans was very greasy. This was our 4th time we have rented from VRBO, but the only time I haven’t rated the accommodations 5 stars. The other rentals were from the owners instead of a management company, perhaps that was the difference.

We had a very nice stay. Shortly after booking I realized I wanted to extend my stay with an additional day, and was able to do so without any difficulties. The location is perfect, with a short walk to lower Montecito Village and a short walk to Butterfly Beach. We wouldn't hesitate to rent again.

Overall great location.

This is a fantastic place and the photos don't really do justice to the charming layout - the house flows so nicely from a kitchen gathering space to the living room and bedrooms. Wonderful original details in the window screens and arches between the living and dining area. The house is within walking distance of both Montecito lower village and Butterfly Beach. We stayed with our ten year old and another family of three and had a wonderful time bopping between the beach and local attractions like the Zoo. If you like to cook, the kitchen was well appointed (very well appointed for a rental).
The owners could be a touch more clear that there is another small cottage on the property and you will share parking/driveway. It wasn't an issue for us, but this was not highlighted in the property description. There is also no A/C (again, unlikely to be an issue, but for folks with any special health needs, worth considering). Overall - great. Quiet, quaint and made for a wonderful week.

We stayed for 2 weeks with our 2 young adult sons in this beautiful house. Its not huge but it was the perfect size for the 4 of us. We cook a lot so we loved the kitchen. We do recommend that the owners get a dish drainer as it was hard to clean up without one. We loved the hot tub. The location could not be better - walking distance from both the beach and Montecito lower village. We would definitely stay here again!
