We loved everything about our stay. Great location, lovely home and nice walk to town.

Super clean, quiet little place...2 br and 1 bath. Parking off the street. Great little neighborhood. Easy walk to downtown Black Mountain. Host was friendly and responsive. Neighbors were friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

The place was really clean and beautifully decorated. The location is great for privacy and if you want to walk downtown. The bird watching was a nice addition to our trip. It is also a great location to drive to Asheville and hiking trails. The only downside was it mentioned having a hot tub, there was no hot tub. I think they meant a tub.

The property is beautiful. The yard is well kept and creatively landscaped. The cottage is correctly named, Cardinal, as birds are everywhere.
The inside is well decorated and felt very homey. The kitchen is well equipped. My few complaints were lack of toilet paper and paper towels. We also didn't know the small key was to open the basement for washer and dryer access.
These complaints will not keep from staying here again.

Perfect place to stay park your car and walk to anywhere you need to go in Black Mountain. Easy short drive to great hiking in Montreat. The house and yard were equally welcoming with everything you would need. The extra touch of having a full bird feeder outside the living room window added to our relaxation. Looking forward to booking again.

Repeat stay at this property. The cottage is clean and well-stocked. Had everything we needed. Easy check-in. The location is great. Walking distance to town. We will stay here again.

The house and location was everything we wanted. We walked to the outdoor market and all around the town for our meals, shopping, and neighborhood. We traveled to Grandfather Mtn and Blowing Rock. We could have stayed much longer.

If you love nature and quaint cottages that are well-decorated and well-maintained, this is the perfect house for you. It had everything we needed. I enjoyed sitting on the little porch one morning and hearing the catbird mimic other birds, with the occasional crow chiming in. The lovely landscaping and large oak tree in the front yard create a relaxing setting that welcomes not only guests but the local wildlife. A little bunny hopped out of the bushes right in front of me and a chipmunk came within inches of my foot on the porch before perching on the edge to observe his kingdom. The bird decor inside tells you that this is a family that loves the natural world. We enjoyed walking to breakfast downtown and to Lake Tomahawk. It was conveniently located near Montreat and not too far to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our only regret is we didn’t have another day to enjoy a longer stay.

Lovely, cozy house with all the necessary amenities decorated exquisitely. Love the attention to detail and the stainless steel cookware.

My adult daughter and I stayed at cardinal cottage while on a long weekend visit to Asheville/Black Mountain. We loved the house - it’s the most comfortable cleanest rental I’ve have stayed in to date. So homey. We got there late in the evening and had no problems getting ourselves checked in

A wonderful, very comfortable home in a beautiful spot. We were there at the height of the Fall colors. Our first trip to the area from New Mexico and we were instantly smitten by the gorgeous mountains, amazing hardwood trees with brilliant colors, gorgeous weather, fantastic hiking very close by and great food nearby. Cardinals View is a welcoming, well equipped home that enhanced the enchanted experience.

We enjoyed staying at Cardinal's View. The home is comfortable and very well equipped. It is a short walk to the shops and restaurants and Lake Tomahawk. The only issue was the very high counter top in the bathroom. My husband is 6 feet tall and he could only see his neck up in the mirror. There was no hope for my petite stature to see more than the top of my head. Lol! Love the bird feeder outside the sitting room window. We are members of the Audubon Society and love birds. Perfect place to spend a relaxing and peaceful vacation.

Within walking distance from town and 2 miles from Montreat. Quick access to interstate highway and only 25 minutes from Biltmore estate. The house and neighborhood were very quiet. My wife was very impressed by the selection of spices and cooking items. Relaxed with coffee on the front porch and watched birds and squirrels.

Cardinals view was lovely, just as described. Beds were comfy, kitchen totally stocked with any utensil or equipment you might need. Easy walk to downtown Black Mountain and Lake Tomahawk.

Loved this property and the town of Black Mountain. Wanted to get a sense of the town over a longer period (45 days) and really fell in love with it. The property was beautiful, inside and out, expertly designed and landscaped. Kitchen had everything one could possibly want and the beds and furniture were super comfortable. My wife and I worked remotely during our stay and the internet performed perfectly.
The property is easy walking distance into town and to Lake Tomahawk, which we did to both quite often. The town has a number of good restaurants and cool little shops and, of course, is surrounded by beautiful mountains.
Mike is a very responsive host and , again, the property is beautiful, very comfortable and lacks for nothing. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others and will very likely return myself.

Beautiful, well-kept house & a short walk to downtown area. My son and I would sit on the porch and have coffee and listen to the birds in the morning. Very peaceful neighborhood. The house was spotless and so quaint and well-decorated. I will definitely be back again. Quick drive to hikes, too!

This was one of our very favorite vrbos. It is a lovely cottage in a quiet neighborhood and very convenient to Montreat, Downtown Black Mountain and Asheville. It had every amenity you can imagine, was impeccably clean and the host was a clear and responsive communicator. We will hopefully stay here again if we return to te area.

Perfect get away for a long weekend! We wanted to visit Black Mountain and Montreat and this was the perfect location. I was first struck by the thoughtful landscape- even in late winter. The second thing the struck us was how quiet the neighborhood was despite being right near downtown Black Mountain. We ended up experiencing a winter storm and while the wind was blistery cold we cozied up to the gas fire and watched a movie. This place has thoughtful features like lights on a dimmer and bluetooth enabled surround sound. Cozy blankets were readily available and warm flannel bedding which was nice to sink into while the wind howled outside. Kitchen and bathroom have been nicely updated and supplied all we needed for the weekend.

My BFF & I relaxed in BM as we enjoyed the van Gogh & Monet exhibits at Biltmore, shopped & dined & laughed all week. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood & the cozy home. We will return next year!

My son, girlfriend and I spent four glorious nights at this wonderful cottage. We loved its location to the town center, shops and restaurants in Black Mountain.
We did not want to leave!
The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated.
We hope to return in the future.

Lovely small cottage on quiet street. Very comfortable with nice kitchen. Walking distance to basically ALL of Black Mountain - we walked everywhere, which was wonderful! Short drive to Montreat and excellent hiking trails there. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

I stayed here with my mom and my toddler. We had a wonderful time! You can walk or drive to Lake Tomahawk Park and downtown. House is adorably decorated and felt so warm and cozy. Yard is full of native plants and decorative ones, so birds and butterflies everywhere. We enjoyed our evenings on the porch and all the friendly neighbors.
Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time in Black Mountain and Cardinal's View! The house is beautifully appointed, with everything one would need for a great trip. We walked into town many times, to partake of great restaurants, some from the excellent descriptions in the house book - which was a well-received touch. The house is in a delightfully quiet neighborhood with nice neighbors, and Black Mountain is quite close to many hiking trails, and a quick drive to Asheville. We look forward to visiting Black Mountain again, and hope to stay in this delightful home again!
