About this villa rental
The facade of the villa presents 4 overlapping arches in twos according to the typical 1700s design from the architects of the Gran duke Leopold of Loraine. The house is located on the hill and does not present the typical Colombaia roof as the others.
The private garden and the pool, with their exquisite view, are accessible from both floors. The panorama from the first floor, where the woodstove is even more impressive. The finishing touches of the villa are elegant. The ambience is refined and comfortable and every detail, no matter how small, was handled with care. The villa is environmentally friendly due to its 1st class energy saving rank. This was possible due to the high quality renovation from which guests year round will also benefit. The living areas are spacious and comfortable.
Each floor has its own living room, kitchen, dining room and three bedrooms with private bathrooms. The first floor can be reached externally through the original stone stairs or a stone bridge linking the garden and the pool (the entire path is accessible for wheelchairs); moreover one bedroom located on the first floor is accessible for wheelchairs. The villa includes all the equipment necessary to enjoy your stay. The kitchens are fully equipped, also including a washing machine and drying machine. Each floor of the villa is completely furnished and has WI-FI, air conditioning, and satellite TV. The furnishing has excellent finishing and each ambience is studied thoroughly to achieve greater ease of use without losing the authentic taste of the Tuscan country houses. A big fireplace gives a romantic and elegant touch to the main dining room. Under the loggia at the ground floor, next to the garden, there is a large dining table.

Group of 6 couples, great each a separate bedrooms w en-suite. 2 floors w 2 kitchens made it each to have plenty of space. Close to Arezzo and many other hill towns. Iacopo made everything easy recommending restaurants and even arranged a chef to prepare dinner one night. Out door space was beautiful. Lots of extra surprises included. Will be back again.

The place is breathtaking. The surroundings are unique and the colors very beautiful. The villa is as good as it is advertised. Jacopo and Bonella went out of their way to help us with everything. We had a wine tasting tour, a tour of the property and a cooking class, and everything was organized in a very professional way. We will go back. Thank you Jacopo and Bonella for arranging for us an unforgettable stay!

We had a wonderful time! Bonella and Iacopo were generous and welcoming. They greeted us with fresh food and smiles and the places was even better in person than online. Everything we needed and everything worked in a beautiful setting. Thank you!

We just completed a two week stay, or better said, perfect getaway. We are from Vancouver, BC and celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. Our three daughters, spouses and three grand children accompanied us. The villa was more than is advertised, clean, fresh, bright and everything that we needed to prepare meals. Iacopo (pronounced Ya-co-po) was super friendly and generous, (beautiful pies randomly gifted to us), we had no need to ask for anything, nor any complaints. We took advantage of the cooking classes on site and enjoyed two marvellous meals as a result. Bonella, the on site manager was more than helpful. She is indeed a beautiful person. In advance of our arrival she arranged a photographer for us, and a world class chef to come to our villa and prepare a sumptuous meal. We can only say, thank you Iacopo and Bonella for making a dream come true.
The location is perfect, views from the villa are spectacular, some family members took the train from Arezzo to Florence, Rome and Venice. Oh, and don't be fearful of driving over there, it was a breeze.

Podere di Pomaio will forever be the setting of our most treasured week - everything about this magic place a dream. If you have the incredible opportunity to visit or, better yet, stay at Pomaio I have no doubt it will hold a similar place in your heart as it does ours.
We decided that we wanted to have a tiny wedding abroad and thus began the search for the perfect venue. Attempting to plan a wedding in Italy from Oregon I scoured the Internet for possible locations that were both beautiful and practical for a party of 9 adults. Villa Leopoldina at Podere di Pomaio was booked from June 3 - 10, 2017 and little did we know just how lucky we were to find this paradise.
One never really knows quite what to expect when booking lodging/experiences from a distance. Pomaio is breathtaking in every way and exceeded every expectation. I literally cannot think of even the smallest way to improve.
Iacopo, such a kind and generous gentleman, has cultivated a true masterpiece at Pomaio. The villa Leopoldina has been lovingly restored and is a gorgeous place to reside. Our party of 9 adults and a 2 yr old had plenty of common room to be together and also the space to retire to private quarters. Everyone agreed that this was the most special and dreamlike week and cannot wait to return.
Practicalities: rest assured that the beds are comfortable, the pillows are great, the hot water was hot, and the water pressure in the showers was ideal. In fact, everything about the baths were ideal. The house is super clean upon arrival and then cleaned again halfway through the week. Directions to Pomaio may look confusing, but they are not and Google Maps finds it perfectly. The wifi works, but is a little sketchy when 9 people all use it at once. There were a few different wifi channels and had we divied them up more evenly perhaps the signal would have been faster. Such is Tuscany.
Finally, for any brides out there looking for an intimate and unique experience that is both elevated and beautifully authentic this is your spot. Bonella arranged for the perfect ceremony location, under a grape arbor in the front garden, and lined up the amazing chef to cater our wedding dinner under the stars. She even organized the incredible floral centerpiece! Iacopo went above and beyond - trimmed olive branches for my dream rustic bouquet and brought white chairs for the ceremony. We were completely overwhelmed by their support.
Huge hugs and thanks to Bonella, manager/angel!

We found the Podere di Pomaio property online, just by browsing. We took a chance, and, was it worth!!! When we arrived, while it was pouring rain, the owner, Iacopo welcomed us with wonderful, home made lasagna, and focaccia, and even warmer words, "it's your villa for the next 7 days, it's your home for the next 7 days". And we felt that immediately! The morning after the sun came, and we had a breakfast outside with the best view of the Tuscany. View from the property is amazing, overlooking the vineyards, spreading to the surrounding hills. During our stay we had a crocking class, and wine tasting (fun, fun, fun!!!) organised by Bonella, property manager. On all occasions, with every question, or request we had, Iacopo and Bonella responded, not just immediately, but enthusiastically! We had a feeling that they are part of our family, and this is how we left them.
Bonella, Iacopo, we are coming back!!!

A family gathering celebrating several milestone birthdays prompted us to search for a villa in Tuscany with close proximity to Florence, Venice, Sienna, etc. We wanted to mix up eating out and gathering around the villa's dining table to share each other's daily adventures. This villa was perfect! It was clean, well equipped and professionally managed right from the initial booking to check out. The pictures on the website are a true representation of the character and charm of the villa. Bonella, the manager who greeted us upon arrival ensured everything was perfect and if we needed something handled it immediately. The owner (Iacopo) also stopped in to meet us and to bring us fresh strawberries during our stay. They had a lovely meal prepared for our arrival which was included. Best lasagne ever! We also attended a cooking class and wine tour on the estate and came away with a new appreciation for pasta making and some great recipes. A lot of fun for all. THis is a Very comfortable villa for a large group with professional management. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities and share in that Tuscan dream. Everyone of us loved it! THank you for an amazing stay.

My husband and I were looking for a place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. What better way to enjoy a celebration than with family and friends. After hours of research, we found a beautiful villa located outside the charming Tuscan town of Arezzo. The property, Podere di Pomaio sat high in the hills overlooking the vineyards, olive trees, gardens and a beautiful pool complete with shelter from the sun and extremely comfortable seating. Our group of 7 found the villa to be beyond expectation - comfortable and charming. We visited several Tuscan towns and wineries during the day and returned to our villa home for rest, relaxation and to whip up a dinner from the local ingredients found during the day. I am anxious to return, sip Pomaio's delicious wines (did I mention award-winning), and to see our friends.

I spent a magical week at Pomaio with family and friends. The location is stunning and the villa is comfortable and beautifully renovated. Arezzo is a great location from which to take day trips to many Tuscan villages/towns but be sure to leave some time to just be at the villa and enjoy the views, the charm and the absolute peace. The hospitality of the owners is beyond compare; Iacopo is a gracious and kind host who will help make your stay all that you wish. A beautiful meal was waiting for us upon arrival and almost every day a basket of some fresh fruit or vegetable was shared with us. We were able to cook beautiful meals and eat looking out over the vineyard, the valley and the lights of Arezzo. The vineyard/winery is magnificent and you should definitely plan on bringing/sending home some bottles of this lovingly crafted wine. Last but not least, my little friend Calzette (the farm cat) is a lovely and warm hostess. You will not regret coming to this magical place.

10 people from our family came to Podere di Pomaio for the week over Christmas. We were in Italy for 16 days and our 13 and 10 year olds before and after were most excited about staying in the "villa". What an experience. Iacopo and his staff make you feel at home with their wonderful arrival meal and everything in between. Plenty of space for 10 people with 5 bathrooms!!! I travel about 100,000 miles per year and this is at the top of places I would come back to....for my wife and me another visit would be our 3rd!!
