Small cottage on quaint island/peninsula on coastal Maine; Some water views and short walk to water. Beautiful harbor nearby. Friendly locals, a couple nice little restuarants and country store. Home was clean, comfortable; electric fire, porch, small yard. 2 small bedrooms and extra bed in upstairs lounge area.

The cottage was furnished beautifully - very upbeat and modern. It was very clean, linens had been professionally laundered and sealed in bags. The kitchen was adorable and contained all appliances, utensils, dishes, glassware, and pots and pans to create a great meal. The water does have a sulfur oder, and we didn't realize until checking out - that the owner also supplied a dispenser for hot and cold spring water. Just remember to bring your our water! The staircase is winding and tight, and we don't recommend it for older folks, but for younger people, it's totally fine. We had a great stay, and will happily book the cottage again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Burns Cottage. We were in search of a place to stay for a family reunion on Bailey Island and this cottage suited our needs. The kitchen is fully stocked, the living and dining rooms had ample seating for our family and the deck was wonderful for our morning coffee. The upstairs had ample space for our sleeping needs and a small view of the water! I would say the staircase could be a challenge for very young children or people with mobility issues.Overall, the hosts were very accommodating, quick to respond when I had a question and the property was very clean. I would highly recommend a stay at the Burns Cottage!

Great cottage with a true Maine summer camp feel! We stayed in this cottage for a week and loved the easy walk to Lands End and great front porch. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to cook in - loved the electric fireplace on a few chilly nights.

Reviewer Comments:
Nice little place. This one might be good for a family with small children. All beds are located up a tiny, winding stair, may be not appropriate for elders. We were quite comfortable and there is no bad location on Bailey Island. This one didn't have a direct ocean view and there is a property on the same street that the county should investigate for health reasons.

The cottage is lovely, comfortable, fresh and welcoming. Falling asleep to the waves on the rocks is magic. The property is quiet. You come here to step away and relax. It is not a place you come to for a variety of things to do or places to eat. The area is not conducive to walks, running or cycling. The people are very friendly and kind, the beauty of the harbor and the coast are the stars.

Cozy and comfortable

The cottage was small and cozy. Bailey Island is gorgeous. The cottage wasn't right on the water, but you could see it and hear it from the porch, and with windows open. I think my only complaint was that having the beds and bathroom on different floors forced us to go up and down the steep spiral stairs (visible in property photos) more than we would like. Management company was very responsive. I would consider staying again for a future short-term visit to Bailey Island.

It is a great island! Perfect vacation to unwind... you can’t really see the ocean unless upstairs, but you can hear the waves breaking.
