Nothing like we expected. The place basically has no AC, the window unit on the first floor has not seals and is completely undersized to properly cool the room. The top floor is a joke and only one room can be cooled by the portable unit. Forget cooling the first floor there is not AC at all. We abandon the place after 5 minutes and paid outrageous rates to stay at a local Hotel. If you have a need to sleep with AC don't even consider this place. Owner offered to relist for a refund if it was picked up but then told VRBO they would not consider relisting. Therefore VRBO refused to help.

We booked Nick’s place for myself, husband, 3 year old & my in-laws before we all left Portland. We were able to get an early check in, which was great because I felt horrible with a migraine & the heat was unbearable.
The home has a lot of character. I would stay there again!

We stayed for the Maine Cancer Foundation Tri- the townhouse has an eclectic bohemian vibe. Location was perfect for access to downtown Portland and over to Cape E for tri. It was a HOT weekend and no AC on the first floor, fans and window ACs on 2nd and 3rd FL. Not recommended for kids or older adults- lots of stairs! King beds were comfy and cool, funky shower was much needed after our day!

Our stay was very relaxing! We had everything we needed and more and it was located close to everything we wanted to do in Portland. The host is very helpful and responsive - we would love to come back someday!

My husband, 2 adult children, 1 (adult) son-in-law and I stayed two nights at this unusual home in March while attending a Portland wedding. The communication with Nick leading up to and throughout our stay was excellent. We had not arrived more than ten minutes when we started talking about when we could possibly return to Portland together and again visit this house! The property was clean, very well-appointed, comfortable, and full of great books and eclectic artwork. We did not have much time to cook, but kitchen had everything one would need to do so - good pans, a nice long table for gather family and a keurig for morning coffee. We had the pleasure of watching a movie on the big screen in the living room the first night and had plenty of space (and hot water) for all five of us to get ready for the wedding the next day. The whole place has a vibe that reminded me of places we have stayed in Europe. It is a vertical home, so you need to be comfortable with lots of stairs, but if you are looking for a lovely home that absolutely does NOT feel like a hotel room, I would recommend this rental.
