Summary:
Unwind at this 3-BR Vermont brookside cottage with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a gas fireplace, and lush landscaping. Bordering Green Mountain National Forest, this home features a hot tub, expansive deck, and front porch rocking chair. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. Explore nearby Manchester’s shops, Bromley Adventure Park, Hapgood Pond State Park, hiking trails, golf, and scenic drives. In winter, downhill and cross-country skiing are just a few miles away.

The Space:
You will have access to the entire private home in Peru, VT.

The first floor features an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen, with vaulted ceilings, comfortable furniture and a smart TV. Large windows and skylights provide abundant light, and French doors open onto a spacious deck with furniture for dining, lounging and grilling. A separate office space with a desk provides a dedicated location for work, with high-speed WiFi available. The desk converts to a queen size bed, allowing the office to be used as a fourth sleeping area, with a convenient half-bath directly off this space.

On the second floor you will find two bedrooms and a shared full bath. The “Brookside Room” features a king-sized bed with a skylight and plenty of space. The “Maple Room” features a queen size poster bed, skylight, and beautiful décor.

The lower level exudes a lodge feel, with comfortable seating around a gas fireplace. Entertainment for all can be found, with a TV (Roku), a poker/bumper pool table and assorted games for your enjoyment. The space features a kitchenette with sink, refrigerator and coffee pot. The third bedroom is located on this level and offers a queen bed and an on-suite full bathroom. A walkout from the lower level provides access to the hot tub and the backyard.

The Neighborhood:
Located in Peru, VT, and directly adjacent to the Green Mountain National Forest, the property is close to multiple ski areas (Bromley 4 minutes, Stratton 20 min, Magic 15 min, Killington 50 min and Okemo 30min). An assess point for The Appalachian/Long Trail, as well as the VAST system, is 5 min away. The town of Londonderry (6 miles) has a well stocked grocery, a local butcher and dining options. Manchester (10 miles) provides a great destination, with shopping, dining, the top-rated bookstore in the Northeast, and the flagship Orvis store.

Other notable spots to explore within a mile of the house Include the JJ Hapgood General Store & Eatery, Bromley Market, Johnny SeeSaws (lodge style dining) and “The Hut” on weekends for woodfired pizza.

Take a trip back in time while visiting the Vermont Country Store (15 min) in Weston, VT on scenic Vermont Route 100. Stocked to the rafters with old fashion candy, memorabilia and modern household goods, it’s also a great place to enjoy a Vermont maple creemee. Route 100
is one of Vermont’s most scenic and well-loved byways that offers plenty of attractions and glorious scenery, especially during foliage season.

Explore abandoned marble mines or even swim in the old Dorset Quarry (19 min). Hike to waterfalls and linger at any of the surrounding swimming holes.

For the young and young at heart, Manchester features a pinball museum with three floors of playable pinball machines from the 1940s to modern times.

Hike or drive to the top of Mount Equinox. At 3,848 feet above sea level, Mount Equinox offers 360-degree views of Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and even parts of Montreal on clear days. The Skyline Drive is the longest privately owned, paved, toll road in the
United States.

Nearby historical sites include Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home and working farm. Touring the Hildene peony gardens while in bloom is a spectacle. Learn about the Pullman Company while touring a restored Pullman train car located on the property.

Wildlife: This is a home in a rural part of the country. You may see wildlife including deer, coyotes, foxes, and bears. Please be mindful of your surroundings and take care with pets and trash. Do not leave out food. A bear proof garbage can Is located outside the basement door.

Weather: In the winter, there will be snow, ice, and occasional snowstorms. The house is on a dirt road. The road is well maintained and plowed, however AWD or 4WD is recommended during inclement weather. Please drive with caution and be prepared with regards to the ability of your vehicle to drive in the snow. Parking is outdoors.

Power & Internet: The house has high speed WiFi available through out. Cellular service can be spotty. This is a rural part of the country. You may lose power or internet during inclement weather. There is a backup whole house generator that is serviced regularly. We do not issue refunds for loss of power or internet out of our control.

Air conditioning: There is a total of 2 split AC units. One is in the living-room and one in the master bedroom. AC availability is seasonal and depending on weather (late spring and summer). Heating is also seasonal, and depending on weather, available during the cold seasons (autumn-winter).

Cancellation Policy: We cannot make any exceptions to our cancellation policy. Please consider traveler’s insurance.
